Current best alternatives for ShapeShift and Changelly
by

We're receiving lots of coins on our website and in the past used both ShapeShift and Changelly to convert them to Bitcoin. However, I've read some bad stories about Changelly on this forum and altough we have a ShapeShift account, the forced account and the pushing of FOX tokens seem to indicate the end is neigh for Shapeshift.

So, what are the current best and trustworthy alternatives? Fees are important because we exchange lots of small amounts.

We get mostly altcoin trading at our payment gateway at https://bitpro.cc

Although it's a bit unfair to compare 20 different altcoins to one Bitcoin

https://BitPro.cc now accepts Pivx as well.

Because our site is completely free of trackers, requires no javascript and an account is optional, it works nicely to protect your privacy when you pay using zPIV.

Awesome, paid a 179 dollar BCC invoice and it only cost me 9 cents in fees!

Any plans to add classic ether?
We don't have plans to add classic ether soon.

Those who want to lose money, I am using mist only. I do not trust my ether wallet or such wallets in internet. Even though it is open source, it can be manipulated any time.
True, it's hard to assess what really happens to your keys. However, for the past year I've used them alot and consider them thrustworthy. For accounts in which I have over 10K I use a local wallet though.

Great list! Most of the acronyms, like forking, genesis block, etc. are also applicable to altcoins.

Coinmarketcap is a good starting point. But be careful when going for ICOs, you can earn a lot of money but it's even easier to loose even more.

BTW If you ask me I would recommend using MEW (https://www.myetherwallet.com).
You should install add-on for Chrome - Metamask and add there your wallet.
This wallet will be used for storing ETH and all ERC20 tokens based on its blockchain.
Cheers.
MEW is really great, it's so easy to start and check balances.

For Bitcoin I'd recommend Electrum. Or the full wallet (with optional pruning), v0.16.0 makes Segwit so much easier to use!

How to start

Accepting cryptocurrencies for your business used to be difficult but we make it easy in just a few simple steps.

  • Create a new invoice with one click or use one of our APIs
  • Redirect the user to the invoice page, or embed it on your own website
  • After a payment is made the invoice automatically updates
  • We notify you about the payment, through email or a notification URL
  • You receive another message once the payment is confirmed
  • We pay the invoice amount to you, minus a small fee

  • No registration required
  • The website is fully responsive and works on all iPhone and Android devices
  • Completely functional for users without Javascript
  • No annoying captcha codes
  • QR codes
  • Instant payment notification through signed email or postback URLs
