Re: Which coins/icos to buy and hold
by

I would advise to invest in coins and tokens that you can personally believe in and, if possible, have knowledge in the particular field.

Since you are interested in long term investment you can't go wrong with the big ones like bitcoin and ethereum, although investing in them now is a bit risky since they are really volatile right now.

But the best solution would be to diversify and split a small portion of your funds onto ICO's. Especially ICO's that feature coins that aim to be a more stable and less volatile one. You can look in my signartur if you are intrested in a token that aims to be a long term investment with a real asset behind it.  Wink

Just a little food for thought regarding the Whisky market.

Here is an article from a few months back stating there has been an increase in exports of scotch whisky by over 10 percent compared to last year at the same period.

This underlines that the Whiskymarket is booming and sets a good future for our token!

made lots of gains? current market price rise only happen 2 day ago, marketcap only increase $20B, did you know that we lost more than $100B marketcap last month? I won't prediction market price because I only sold it when I need the money, so currently I like a holder and wait for market next pump Smiley

Yeah I meant gains in comparison to the recent crashes, if you compare it to the total marketcap its just a drop in the bucket. Cheesy

Your wording and topic sound panicky. And that is the least anyone should do. As long as Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are referred to as waves, we should expect this behavior of ups and down movement in the market. This is the character of every market. Without such characteristics, the market will be boring and will lose steam. It is not a crash, but rather a normal market behavior.

I didn't meant to sound panicky, sorry if I came across that way Smiley. But I just wanted to start a discussion about the current situation and I needed a "racy" way of dellivering it. Sounds like I succeded Wink.

@cola-jere

I think a lot of people have the same outlook as you about the current crash. And I think this also the reason behind the rise in the last two days. People waited for the market to crash and now reenter it, hoping in great gains. Subsequently the demand rises, which in turn affects the price in a positive way.

I think 2019 is going to be a good year for Cryptocurrencies. This year there already has been fast improvements in the acceptance of cryptos in the public eye. Therefore more and more people are going to be interested in this topic, wich in turn brings in new money. Smiley

So I am very optimistic about the market in the future since there are always going to be market fluctuation.

Hello,

I want to know how the community thinks of the recent crashes. Although most of the altcoins and bitcoin are already on the rise again and made lots of gains, if you look at the big pictures cryptocurrencies took a big hit.

What do you do in a situation like this? Do you invest in more stable coins and token or are you more of a hodler and wait for the downtrend to be over?

Hello basil-usa,

it is difficult to tell what the future of bitcoin brings. But its nice to see a rise in the last couple of days. Historiacally the perfomance of other coins and token more or less correlated with the perfomance of bitcoin.

However since we aim to be a secure Token with our Whisky assets, a lot of people are looking for a more stable investment, therefore we should have pretty good chances in becoming succesfull. Smiley

Re: Is ICO regulation good or bad?
by
OfficialWhiskytoken
on 17/12/2018, 21:24:41 UTC
@Screamshot

Yes there is a urgent need for regulation. The question is though: Who is going to regulate ICO's?

Usually it is the country the company behind the ICO is founded. Which means that scam ICO's just move their HQ to a country that is has low regulations. So the best solution, in my opinion, is to look at the ICO's company's origin and determine from that if it might be a scam or not.

Country with high regulations for ICO's = likely not a scam.

@SellnBuy037

Like eleonora0x already said. We will only charge a fee of 1,5% per transaction, to cover the costs of operations. Furthermore we probably will do some other type of business in form of Whisky Tastings and such. The revenue generated from these events will help us with the running costs, but it should be only seen as an aid not as the sole income.

We mainly plan to make it a longterm investment. And since we are on the blockchain mangement fees, that would normally apply to such financial products, don't apply to us. So therefore therefore we have much lower overhead costs.

Hello WAnGGcho2,

I am sorry but Chinese Citizens are not allowed buying WHISKYTOKEN. This is due to legal restrictions that we can't work around.

These countries are also restricted: Vietnam, United States of America, South Korea, Hong Kong.

I think Stablecoins and Token with a real asset behind them are the way to go in this downward trend. People have more faith in them due to higher security and the values behind them.

Where can I buy tokens? It seems to me that investment in this project can be very profitable, because it looks interesting and unusual.

You can register and buy WHISKYTOKEN on our website and receive 5 Why as a bonus!

Are there any downsides of using WHY?

Hello,

if yuo compary it to other cryptos its risk is deminished. But it is still an investment so you have to treat it as such. It is still possible to lose money if you buy high and sell low for example.

Best regards.

I'm not a fan of alcohol, but the idea of a project is interesting. Interesting thing, how much time could it take to form a buy-back mechanism?

We calculated that we may generate an average net return of 9% p.a.. If this is the case the asset backed mechanism could be activated in a year, starting from the end of the ICO.

I can only imagine the mass adoption of this token. For instance, if you want to buy a bottle of lets say my favorite Caol Ila, you have to pay taxes. If you import spirits, you will still have to pay excise to your local tax office. How it is going to work wit this coin?

Thats true we still have to pay taxes. But we already considered this in our calculations. The cost though is pretty high but not as substantial as it would break our business model.
So in germany we have to pay 13,03€ per liter of pure alcohol so a 700ml bottle with 40% is going to cost us 3,65€ in Taxes. Since we are targeting high end whiskies the percentage "lost" diminishes the pricier the whisky gets. So if we bought Whisky for 30€ per bottle, the tax alone would cost us 12.1% of the value of the whisky. A 200€ bottle, however, only 1.825%

Hello MishaSER!

thank you for your interest in our project!

To answer your question:
Johannes Moosbrugger and Ralph Warth are our Whiskyexperts.
Johannes runs a website called Whiskystats. It inhabits one of the biggest Whiskydatabases on the internet and analyzes and displays the current and former whiskymarket. So he has a vast knowledge of current whisky prices and has a great overview over the current market.

Ralph Warth is an investment advisor and is specialized in the field of whisky as an alternative investment. Moreover he has direct contacts to big distelleries, which gives us an important edge so we can aquire whiskys directly and cutting out middlemen, so that most of the investments goes directly into the whiskyportfolio.

Hope this answers it for you.
