The crazy part of the MSTR snub is that they added 2 companies with lower market caps. To me that signals not a lot of faith in Bitcoin. Saylor now finds himself in a spot where he is going to have to pump the price higher between now and December by any means or else it is definitely game over for this cycle.

Re: 2025 NBA Season
by

Speaking of value, I just saw a few hours ago that Cam Thomas, a player who's averaging 24 PPG in Brooklyn signed a 1-year deal worth $6M to stay. I mean a player that offensive only got that amount. I wonder why though.  Huh Huh Huh
Yeah, for real, that’s way too low for a player averaging 24 PPG. Meanwhile, Pat Connaughton is making $9.4M while only averaging 5.3 PPG. Lol. Even if people say he’s putting up numbers because of the team he’s on and wouldn’t score like that on a top team, it’s still too low, and he’s still young, just 23. Other players with lower averages are getting paid more. Honestly, that feels unfair. His agent doesn’t seem great at negotiations. Cooper Flagg is even making more in his first season.

That's the weird part about the NBA. Some players are overpaid, and some are underpaid based on their performance and contribution to the team. Nevertheless, the NBA is a business. I think they're also looking at whether the player can draw a lot of fans/market. Cam Thomas is indeed underrated. This is a challenge to him. He's still young, and he has all the time to improve and show his real worth. If Brooklyn won't see that in the next couple of years, then I don't see him staying with that team.

I already posted this but people continue having bad takes so I’ll post it again. The Nets made him 3 offers and he took the lowest one.

2-years, $30M (team option)
1-year, $9.5M (can be traded)
1-year, $6M qualifying offer (no-trade clause)

He chose to take less money to guarantee that he wouldn’t be traded this year. Maybe he has a girlfriend in Brooklyn or something. He left 9 million this year on the table by not being willing to sign with a team option for next year. Likely because he knew he would be traded and wants to stay where he is.

By the way, there is a reason why players often "prefer" to go to teams like Lakers, or Boston, or even New York when they are bad. These places are places you can get the most endorsements and the most money. I understand that some teams are lower on the rankings there, like not that many would prefer to go to Minnesota for it, but if you go to Lakers for example, you are literally right in the middle of Hollywood, and right next to silicon valley too, not far away.

It means ads, as in like just "oh I got paid 10 million to do one day of work for some ads for some company" is easier there compared to some team like Denver lets say. This may not be paid under the table like Kawhi situation, but those players are getting that money thanks to being there.
Well, if you’re a legit star player, it would not be surprising at all to get those deals. But it’s not as simple as you're moving in LA, you'll get rich, that is not how it goes. It really depends on who you are, your marketability, and I think timing is important too. Just being an NBA player in LA doesn’t automatically mean the endorsement deals will roll in, the city gives you the platform, but you still need the best profile to earn those.

I think it probably meant more back in the day when all the advertisements and things were shot in Southern California. Thanks to Gavin Newscum’s policies, filming is fleeing California like never before, not to mention the internet’s impact and advancements to filing hardware… So I don’t think it matters as much as before and someday it won’t matter at all.

I think that making casinos responsible for evaluating the mental health of their patrons is probably not the best way to combat this issue. Perhaps a better way would be to place blame on the families of these people for not stepping in and helping them with their issues. Those without families to care for them probably need to turn to the state for help.

The price is up nearly $4,000 in the last half a day and continues to rise. I like that… We seem to have broken the downtrend. There isn’t really any resistance between $113,500 and $117,000, so a move up from here would start to make this rally look pretty aggressive.

Probably 95% of the dangerous uranium scare tactics are government sponsored fear tactics... fake news. The reason is to keep people from powering their cars and houses with a natural fuel (uranium), that could easily power them for almost free for 100 years. Such would shut down the need for oil (almost), and would change the whole political structure of the world.

Search on 'Galen Winsor' the nuclear chemist who ate uranium on stage to show how dangerous it is NOT. Witness the nuclear fear scam. Scientist eats uranium. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmJN-LMPnX0

Cool

I think the reason is that they don’t want people making nuclear bombs in their garage. Bob Lazar showed how anyone could power their car with water if they were allowed to have access to the right materials (it’s on YouTube, search for it). We could all be powering everything with water, but I think it is a case of ‘this is why we can’t have nice things.’

Before talking about how one could power ones car with water you should take a look at something called "first law of thermodynamics" and "second law of thermodynamics", in order to use water as fuel one needs to invest more energy than it is generated  during it's ignition.
Ironically, what BD says about filing cars with uranium makes more sense than powering cars with water and it would not break any law of physics, it would just elevate radioactive pollution within all urban centers in the United States.  Roll Eyes

Before pretending you know what I’m talking about you should learn the things I’m saying. Here’s a video if you’d prefer to see the entire process demonstrated by the guy who worked at Area 51 instead. Converting water to hydrogen and using that to power vehicles is a long proven science and breaks no laws of thermodynamics.

Please verify the highest bid...is it 0.00125 BTC (Meant to be 0.0125 BTC)?

If so, I would like to add the next min bid increment at:

0.0127 BTC

0.0107 BTC

I think this is the high bid for what it’s worth, so the next min bid would be 0.0109 BTC (not a bid).

^ They delayed on Tesla entering the S&P as well. Maybe they are hungry for Bitcoin exposure and want them in tomorrow, but I doubt it. It looks like all the voters have doubts as well. For the record, I do think MSTR will be included into the S&P 500, but I think it is more likely to happen in December than now.

Donald Trump just rug pulled Justin Sun for millions of dollars using the WLFI token. I must say that I am not sure how to feel about this. Sun broke the rules and got caught, but damn that’s a lot of money to have frozen over an early transaction. I assume Sun will be suing the President of the United States now. His month is going to go from bad to worse pretty quick I think.

Trump said he was going to put an end to the drug smuggling. He said he was going to use the military to do it. Nobody should be surprised by this. I actually think it is one of those most badass things I’ve seen a President make the call to do. Dems had no problem when Obama wanted to use a drone on American citizens but they’re outraged Trump used weapons on foreign drug smugglers. That’s all you need to know about Democrats.

Trying to get some sentiment from the community here. What do you think? Will we get Bitcoin into the S&P 500 through Strategy with an announcement tomorrow?

The Bitcoin price has been falling for 3 straight weeks, so I tend to think someone already knows the answer to this, but maybe not. If it does get included tomorrow, it’ll be a sign the news didn’t leak early, so I tend to be leaning towards “No” at the moment. The news always leaks early and with Binance and Mike Noragretz selling massive amounts over the last month, the conspiracy theorist in me says they already know… Hopefully I’m wrong about that.

I’d feel a little better if we were melting up to the news or no news about MSTR tomorrow. The fading price makes me think the ‘somebody knows something’ indicator is saying we won’t get an S&P500 inclusion tomorrow. Hopefully we’re just seeing selling as people don’t want to bet on this and the decision hasn’t leaked.

50-60% chance "grok"

if the % is this low and BTC related then mostly we get the negative side of the coin.

End of year its giving 91-96% chance...  even with this high of % nothing is guaranteed for BTC related things.
We always have to go the hard way if we follow our parcours from the past until now.

Not gonna lie, I had to look " parcours" up. Smiley

Re: 2025 NBA Season
by
OgNasty
on 04/09/2025, 18:42:17 UTC
It's worth noting that the NBA has already announced that it will open an investigation. By the way, the Clippers are already hastily denying that they have broken any cap rules. So, let's hope that Leonard doesn't end up being made the scapegoat in this situation, which could potentially ruin his NBA career.
Hoping it will turn out positive for both of them because it will really make a huge mark especially for Kawhi who we've known that doesn't talk much or just having positive vibes all the time. Clips may keep on denying it but let's see what the investigation may lead to this. Yeah hoping Kawhi or his management would have a take on this. Kawhi may probably leave Clippers because of this.

Oh well, everyone has a skeleton in the closet. We also know that Kahwi has a attitude as well and not the image that we thought of him. Remember he just sit down and doesn't want to play with the Spurs then and was traded to the Raptors?

So him and Ballmer went under the table so to speak and goes on some scheme so that he can pay Kawhi more because they are over the salary cap. But as what we said, they are not yet guilty so let's see the investigation of the NBA.

Yeah I guess people should wait for the final result of the investigation.

Since if it happens that Kawhi will find guilty on those mistake they have made then provably that he would face a heavy penalties from NBA.

But there's good chance that they will get compromised on this deal since it seems that they have basis that those under the table deal is true. To bad for Kawhi if he's career will fell short because of this controversy.

Mark Cuban has come out in defense of Steve Ballmer in this scenario and I have to wonder if there isn't a reason.  Maybe old Mark has been doing this to keep his guys for a while now.  I actually don't see a huge problem with it.  If guys can get endorsement deals outside their NBA contracts, who cares who the person is paying them?  Does it really matter?  Do owners need to start making back alley deals with Nike to make sure their guys get paid by a 3rd party?  While I don't like the behavior, it seems perfectly legal.  I'm curious how this one will end up.

Wow.  It's crazy to think these coins are worth over a grand now.  I guess I hadn't really thought about it.  I have one of these buried in my silver pile somewhere.  I should probably dig it out.  A great looking coin.  I always wondered whether or not there was actual claimable BTC on these things, but I'm guessing since I haven't seen any complaints over the years about them, that the BTC is claimable.  I didn't like these when they came out, but I'm glad I own one now and they've grown on me.  A good collectible and one of the first Bitcoin themed mainstream coins.

11:30am and I am already sweating like crazy.  Got a workout in and did a ton of yardwork this morning.  Had to please the homeowners association.

A nice change from the usual.  I've been having too many business meetings lately.  Finding myself having to dress professional and talk like I'm not a ghetto raised asshole.  It gets tiring.  Smiley

I did however decide that since I'm working on my body, I should probably give the old teeth some care.  I had braces in high school, but that was long ago.  So I got aligners to get me that million dollar smile.  If I seem more cranky than usual on the forum for the next few months, that's probably why.

Conor McGregor has officially announced his intent to run for President of Ireland. I person my don’t think he will be able to get elected but I do appreciate his politics and hope that he doesn’t hurt his own cause by taking votes from others from his party who might have had an actual chance to win. Still, good for him. See the clip below.
