How can you be sure of that. How can you trust what your eyes tell your brain? No way the pairs are there. My body is starting to engorge with air I pump in it through the mouth opening trying to accumulate more gas in my lungs before interminable laughing routine. I can not explain nor fathom what raveled me in you statement but my body reacted unusually.
Well, since I use that exchange myself I can assure you that all pairs are there and all are active.

Sounds like the atomic pi will be perfect since its an intel atom x5-Z8350 with 2gb ram and 16gb flash on board. Will probably have to move the chain over to a usb drive in the future as it grows

The chain takes a bit over 7GB drivespace at the moment, so that would be to move the chain to a USB drive.

For people that are not proficient on the CLI, Verus-Desktop also runs on ARMx64, so a GUI Ubuntu is also an option:

This picture was actually used to show the zcash capabilities, but the running native chains are clearly visible.

Anyone staking using an atomic pi? Looks like a pretty low cost and low power solution to have your staking wallet on all the time.

I am staking on a RockPi at a comfortable 3.4 Watts usage (when I don't switch on mining). Mind you that I attached a NVMe drive to it, for (among other things) blockchain storage. For pure staking a USB drive would suffice.

Your Pi needs to run a 64-bit OS to run the wallet, so 32-bit Raspbian release are not suitable. Then again: lots of 64-bit ARM Linux releases are available.

Happy staking!

It's amazing, what's the exact hashrate this rock pi do? 3 or 4 mhs?

And which model do you use?

I too use a RK3399 based RockPi. It's a ARM chip commonly used in set-top boxes.

In order to mine it does have to run 64-bit linux. Mine runs Ubuntu 18.04 LTS server (+ Mint GUI for demonstration of the Verus-Desktop GUI wallet). Mining on 6 cores (4x A53 + 2x A72) it does about 2.5-3.0 MHs on Verushash 2.2 at 9 Watts indeed.

It may not be a huge hashrate, but's above average on MH/W

Mining on an Android TV is a unknown to me. Lots of different processors used and very little Android miners available.

Yes, it's full fucked up! There are a lot of viruses in the new miner, here is one of them Trojan: Win32 / Wacatac.D! Ml. For suckers all think?

https://github.com/VerusCoin/nheqminer/releases/tag/v0.8.1

Miners are known to be used in malware to make use of other peoples resources to earn money.
As a result many virus-scanners report false positives, because they do not scan for malware, but payload (the miner) that is often distributed by malware.

Submit the executable to https://virustotal.com and you'll see that 11 engines make a positive detection, most of which catogorizing it as a Coinminer or as not-a-virus

If it weren't a mining program I would be worried, but in this case it is your virusscanner overreacting.

Re: Wow what is up with those guys over at the CPU Mining Club?

They claimed to me (before I left shaking my head) that all algos that allows other hardware to mine it outside CPUs, will inevitably be taken over by ASICS. They don't grasp the idea that you can tweak an algo in such a way, that both FPGAs and CPUs can exist on the same network, while both are profitable. (And I've tried to explain... And again... And again)

Well, if that club wants to miss out on a profitable coin, that's their business.

I stake only in hope, the coin will be 10x when I sell them in the future.
If not, not much is lost...

The 40k mentioned above is a bit on the high side to stake on average on a daily basis.
The ROI percentage for staking is the same for all balances. The number mentioned indicates only receiving a reward about every day. I'll not overcomplicate stuff: if a 40k balance gets 1 blockreward per day, you can expect a 4k balance to yield a reward every 10 days, a 400 balance every 100 days, etcetera, etcetera.

It functions like solo mining versus pool mining. If you have the nerves to go without rewards for those periods mentioned, you save yourself the pool fees when staking in your own wallet.
If you're comfortable having your funds under 3rd party control, you may opt for pool mining and enjoy the regular rewards coming in.

If you want to just HODL for future profit, I would certainly keep the wallet staking. Every reward will be a bonus...

The post says it all basically.

Some additional information:
Links to Wallets and Miners can be found at https://VerusCoin.io
The FAQ & How-To page answers the most common questions we've had over the past 1½ year.
If you have questions, want to help out or just want to enjoy the company, our community is at discord: https://discord.gg/VRKMP2S

At this moment the wallet is ready for solo-mining (new GUI release with support for the VerusID is expected before the fork), a CCminer was released that supports VerusHash 2.1.
Pools should be updated before the fork.

Announcing availability of CLI testnet and first release candidate (RC1) for the Verus ID and VerusHash 2.1 Network Upgrade!

This is the first release candidate (RC1) for the next major upgrade to the Verus network. It is considered fully ready for testing on both VRSCTEST testnet and VRSC mainnet. While this release is likely to work fine on mainnet through the coming activation, it is not yet an official release that you should expect to support mainnet activation. This release is intended for community members and ecosystem developers to have a chance to test and familiarize themselves with Verus ID technology on testnet. If you install this version, please make sure to upgrade to an official release before network activation, which will happen at block 800200, expected to be mined or staked on December 15th.

This release enables two technology upgrades, one that would be considered big news to most cryptocurrency projects, an improvement to the FPGA-equalizing hash algorithm, and a revolutionary, new decentralized identity technology, Verus IDs, that will disrupt today’s centralized systems with the most secure, quantum ready, fully decentralized, self-sovereign digital identity system in the world.

Verus ID - A Better Blockchain Identity Technology
If you’ve been around crypto for even a little while, you’ll start to hear things like “not your keys, not your coins”, “lose your keys, lose your coins”. If you lose your keys, no one will ever be able to recover your money.

In fact, trading off decentralized, censorship resistant public systems for this risk to your cryptocurrency assets is such a fundamental issue in blockchain systems today that it is considered an acceptable price for having the benefit of full control over your own funds and blockchain assets.

Verus ID provides an elegant solution to these previously unsolved, fundamental problems, and also provides quantum-ready friendly identity names and blockchain funds addresses as self-sovereign, revocable, recoverable identities that provide the following advantages over today’s blockchain systems:

  • Identity and currency address are one and the same. Your friendly name can be used as both a reference to who you are and an on-chain destination for any funds transfer.
  • Each identity must have a set of addresses (1 or more) and a minimum number of signatures required from those addresses to spend or sign on behalf of an identity. Each identity also refers to two additional identities that have authority over:
    • Primary - this is the self identity and may modify any part of the identity except its name, its parent, which is derived from the blockchain on which it is defined, and unless it is also one of the two other authorities, it may not modify any data under their control, including the identity of the other authorities once specified.
    • Revocation - this identity may revoke the primary identity, which will also revoke access to all funds and transactions under its control, but it may not spend any funds or sign on behalf of the identity.
    • Recovery - this authority may redefine/recover a revoked identity, but it may not change the revocation authority, nor may it modify an unrevoked identity at all.
  • Identities are transferable by defining them with primary addresses with private keys, which are under another party’s control. When identities are transferred, the revocation and recovery authorities may or may not be modified as well, as long as the party updating the ID has the authority to do so.
  • If an identity is transferred from one party to another, all funds in transactions that are under the control of that identity will also transfer to the party to which control is being transferred. In the native wallet, these changes are automatically reflected in the wallet balance and visibility of the balance of an identity using z_getbalance identity@”.
  • If later, a new address type or signature algorithm, such as one that is quantum secure s added to the Verus blockchain, all transactions sent to an identity that is updated to be under the control of the new address type will be subject to its spend conditions as well. That means that if you have 1000 transactions sent to your identity name/address, an upgrade to a quantum secure address, when they are available, will retroactively secure all 1000 transactions under the control of that address.

New releases of our wallets are now available on https://veruscoin.io/ that include the latest updates to address the Zcash privacy issue announced a few days ago.

This update also includes all of the Zcash updates since our last synchronization of Sapling, minor GUI fixes, UI improvements, and the latest support for VRSCTEST on testnet and screens to make your own test blockchain currencies, send across test chains, and even convert currencies on the testnet as well.

Please upgrade as soon as you are able and spread the word. This update is technically not mandatory, but it fixes a real security/privacy issue, and we consider it to be a CRITICAL update.

If you have recently looked at the website for downloads, please be sure to update the page and that you are installing version 0.5.9. Enjoy!

Can veruscoin tech be used to make an algorithmic stable coin like Maker dai?
Once PBaaS is on mainnet, a PBaaS coin can become a stable coin with respect to VRSC by supplying a large enough liquid reserve to limit slippage between the coin and VRSC. Any PBaaS chain using the liquid reserve option will be able to exchange its coin to Verus and back, much like the BANCOR protocol. The difference is that Verus’ implementation is governed by the blockchain consensus.

In that sense: yes, it will.

I suspect however that you would like to peg a coin to a different currency than VRSC. I imagine this could be done by continuously adapting the size of the liquid reserve, to artificially match the pegged value you’re after.

I'm have 6000+ mature coins now in staking, as well as 6000+ still unmature coins

Here is my step:

1: create a new Z wallet address
2: send the 6000 coins to the Z wallet
3: send them back to my public R wallet

Here is the problem:

if they will be counted into the staking when the unmature 6000 coins got mature?
or I need to do the 3 steps again ?

Hello keseoma,

Every time your have matured rewards they need to be shielded (sent to Z-address) and unshielded (sent back to R-address) in order to stake.
