Power costs isn't a issue for me I live in a apartment building and have un-metered power as part of the unit, I forgot to add that.
Thanks for the reply burp! Looking at the hardware list I can get somthing around 60Mhash/s
Would the Nvidia still be worth it or would it just take too long to collect any useful amount of coin? Join a Pool ?

Hello,

I found out about bitcoin a few days ago and been reading up on mining and have a question if any one would be kind enough to answer it for me I hope.
My question is , I have two computers kicking around and was wondering would it be worth while to setup one or both of the following hardware set-ups for bitcoin mining?
The two computers I have is
A) quad core Intel @2.1Ghz , 4gigs RAM, ATI Radeon HD 3650 w/ 512meg RAM DDR2
B) AMD x2 64 4400+ Overclock@ 3.0Ghz , 2gigs RAM , Dual SLI BFG O.C Nvidia Geforce 9600GT 512meg RAM DDR3

Computer A) is running Ubuntu Server 10.04 right now
Computer B) was my gaming rig till I got pissed off with windows and all the malware crap and switched to using Linux on my laptop so I haven't touched the rig in over a year.

I know ATI are better cards but since I have a 3650 I'm hoping the Dual 9600's maybe better, but from what I see software wise not much Nvidia support.

I don't have any funds to invest in better hardware, so I'm hoping to be able to experiment with what I got if at all worth while. Undecided

Thank you for your time to any and every one that reads this and/or replies.
