Re: What would a Crypto-only economy look like?

What worries me about such a reality are the criminals who might kidnap, force others to give them Bitcoins. It will happen in such a scenario.

Re: What is your opinion on the highest /lowest value of bitcoin in 2020?
by
Omnipotent1
on 23/01/2020, 07:15:18 UTC
I bought a few days ago and now I am more restrained because I believe bitcoin will rise again with new prices, I think you are also not too late to buy bitcoin now and still say in the low price it is possible that in the next few days bitcoin will soon ride.
I bought bitcoin because it will deal with halving so believe in the increase later.

I started buying a few months ago after every paycheck, and while it's nice that the little I've put in has gone up in value, it's making like nauseous because I wanted to accumulate a lot more.

Re: Now that we touched $8,000, what's next?
by

Is there any reason as to why the price rose to over $8,000? If so, then analyze that reason, it's current state, and then react to that.

It's halving season. Lean back and enjoy your gains. Simultaneously the CME futures started for January after 6 months of downward pressure.

They want to make some money now with the halving headlines. Expect a lot of news and publicity when Bitcoin reaches $10k and the halving coming up.

Interesting. I wish I understood all of this better. Around when do you think the price is going to peak?

You can't look for perfection. A lot of people never take profits because they're busy waiting for that perfect moment. Including myself.

I sort of wonder about this because of that Jeopardy guy James Holzhauer and his incredible ability of consuming an unlimited amount of information and his recall ability. Add to that superior knowledge and common sense and a person like that would be great in speculating. 2nd to known.

I wonder how that would affect things. The average person would not like some dude owning 25% of the supply.

Re: John McAfee Says- If Bitcoin Breaks 100k you can bet it will break a million
by
Omnipotent1
on 27/06/2019, 03:17:21 UTC
A million is a very high number I doubt it can reach that level, when it hit too high usually people will find alternative, the rising price will affected the fee, its good to see someone really enthusiastic about bitcoin but we can't expect this based on a person view and word, it takes a big adoption to make bitcoin reach a million

In all fairness these were the same thoughts when people talked about it hitting $100.

I worry about this. If it hits 100k then what if what happened when it hit 20k happens? I know a lot of people who a sour to Bitcoin because of that. And if we encourage people out of this field to buy because they trust what McAfee says, then it can hurt them. Just let it reach a million naturally and don't just go by what some guys says.

I think people will manipulate anything that involves large sums of money, so not only do I think it's possible, but would be shocked if there was no manipulation.

In fact I read a very compelling report of how back in 2013, when Bitcoin went from like $100 to $1,200, was due to a manipulation by someone at Mt. Gox and bots.

Re: Please, we should not totally eliminate fiat currency

Of course not. If we eliminated fiat, then it would be replaced by a government's own virtual money. That's what they are doing it in some country, and what it does it takes control away from the people. They always know how much you have, and you cannot hide it. You can't save it under your mattress if you wanted, or bury a million dollars under your house.

Re: Stop talking about cashless society! Let us preserve mother nature!

I'm more against cashless society (as in from the government, not cryptos) because I feel it's a means to abuse power. Sure the government can use it to freeze 100% of a criminal's money, and what would a drug dealer do? (I guess put it into cryptos) But too many good people would rather not have banks or the government in their business.

Of course I feel preserving the environment is more important than a cashless society.

There are big winners and losers in this. Manny regret getting into cryptos this year, and have paid dearly. Basically it's all a game based on luck, and even if it moons in the future, there are going to be winners and losers. And that's what sucks about it, that not every single one of us can be winners.

Re: Why I am not sharing my crypto love? <3
by

I don't really talk about cryptos with other people, because I understand how complicated human emotions and interaction can be.

My time in crypto has not been that great, a lot of stress and a lot of frustration. So that's another reason why I would keep quiet if I ever make a lot of money, because other will just see it as though I got free money and be resentful for it.

But the reality is that it's a lot of work for something that's not certain.

Three mandatory tweets added in #rules on discord, more tweets will be added during the week. Don't forget guys, there's always someone complaining about not seeing anything about mandatory tweets and the info is always there. Also this week you must apply on https://privcy.io/airdrop-registration/

I missed a mandatory tweet once, but did not complain. It was just easy to over look in the rule section in Discord, since most rules stay the same and one jumps over what seems like the same rules from previous week.

I haven't really used cryptocurrencies much in my daily life, but a couple of weeks ago I sent a girl a very low portion of a coin I have for a picture of her, for proof that she really was a girl, and it just felt so amazing. My first crypto transaction ever. I sent the coins, she sent me the picture. I can't explain it, it felt so right.

Re: Government regulation on cryptocurrency, GOOD or BAD?
by
Omnipotent1
on 13/08/2018, 19:45:50 UTC
I think overall regulation can be a good thing in helping fight against scam ICOs.

If an ICO has to follow certain rules else they can't do much business or get listed on a top tier exchange, because the exchange cannot risk getting shut down, then scam ICOs will be easier to identify.

Sure we want the government out, but they can be helpful in many cases.

Litecoin is 80% down from December? Sound like a great opportunity to buy in my opinion. Litecoin is like Bitcoin, not as strong, but like Bitcoin in that it's always going to be there. So it being down 80% sounds like I should be buying some.

Re: The biggest problem of altcoins
by
Omnipotent1
on 02/08/2018, 21:21:55 UTC
The biggest problem with alt coins is that there are too many. Even good ones don’t get noticed because they are lost being lumped in with all the useless coins. It’s like more so than the actual technology, the most important part for a new coin to be successful is marketing.
