Poloniex is barely known exhcnage. Only people trading Ether know it, and thus the scammers promoting it.
Poloniex is not a player when it comes to exchanges. The volume is faked and they have not provided any proof for it.

You may be right about the fake volume. The fact that ETH volume is more at Poloniex than Bittrex is weird.
