Re: Snapchat just got dumped by a lot of its users over a stupid game

That game was a bad error of judgement on their part. But I think Snapchat is already on the way out, especially after their unpopular recent update and with both Facebook and Instagram stories having similar features on a more widely used platform.

I've watched several TED talks on this particular subject, so I do recommend you doing that. One talk that stood out to me explained that you need to have confidence when publicly speaking; and if you don't have the confidence within yourself yet, "fake it til you make it." With practice you will eventually acquire the confidence.

Thanks for the tips. I've also watched some YouTube videos about how to generate revenue through writing a blog with a specific niche. The niche you pick for the blog seems like a key concept that should not be considered lightly.

Not having enough knowledge to where you could possibly make a mistake and get scammed, or lose your investments due to phishing attempts, etc. This is what scares me the most

Too much stress can definitely drain you. But a little stress in moderation can be a driving force that helps propel you forward. Glad you're back and stronger than ever with a positive outlook, OP!

Re: Facebook banning All crypto ads!!
by

on 15/03/2018, 12:46:31 UTC
Facebook banning all cryptocurrency related ads is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, this will protect the common layperson with no knowledge from ico scams and phishing sites. However, it will also deter the development of reputable and legit startups and possibly inhibit the mainstream adoption of Bitcoin and altcoins, not to mention the loss for bounties. Facebook banning all of it in such a fashion also send a negative message about cryptocurrency as a whole... This will have far greater reaching implications than anyone of us can foresee at this time.

You can participate in bounties and airdrops to earn without investing. However, for bounties they require a higher ranking to earn. So airdrops would be your best bet. Hope this helps!

Re: Important information about KYC!
by

Do you believe that every bounty that uses KYC before release of funds, bounties, or tokens is a 100% scam? Because I see more and more companies are posting this as a requirement on their campaigns.

No, there shouldn't be any direct correlation between implementing KYC procedures and scamming. They may simply be required by the regulatory bodies of their home country.

That being said, you're definitely in greater danger if you disclose your identity, because you have no idea what they'll do with it. Make sure you do proper research before you start giving out your info.

Thank you for this information, I will definitely be more wary and cautious when disclosing any type of personal information now.

Super news from Western Union! They currently testing Ripple (XRP) for future money transfers.
Western Union Says It's Testing Transactions With Ripple

If they do decide to use it, then this is HUGE news and advancement for the crypto community!! We need more big name companies to get on the crypto train!!

This thread just made me realize, but what ever happened to the wall street people testing the bitcoin? Did they ever release any thoughts or updates about what they thought of the product?

To determine the ICO the way or step you mentioned is still very inaccurate you should see the team behind the project if they do not have an experienced team it is sure the ICO will fail.

I don't really agree with this comment. Everyone has to start from somewhere. So are you saying that if the team is not someone you have "heard" of or have not done some big project, then it will fail? I don't really think this is as relevant to making a decision on if it is a good ICO or not. Even big companies now, like Stratis, or Tenx even started somewhere and when they came out, nobody has even heard of anyone on their team yet...

No, it's not too late! Cryptocurrency is still in its stages of infancy, regarding the technology and its implementation. There are also other coins out there besides Bitcoin. Now is the best time to buy with the price so low due to corrections

Unfortunately, not all forum participants have the status of a Hero). Therefore, we must participate in various bounties and airdrops. It is important that all newcomers know that personal information does not need to be sent. When the organizers of the company bounty ask you to get personal information, this means a 100% scam.

Do you believe that every bounty that uses KYC before release of funds, bounties, or tokens is a 100% scam? Because I see more and more companies are posting this as a requirement on their campaigns.

Re: Paypal receive payment. Noob question
by

PayPal reserves the right to hold funds for up to 21 days, especially if you're a new account.

Here is a link for that article: https://www.paypal.com/us/selfhelp/article/how-can-i-get-my-held-payment-released-faster-faq1987
"Why is my payment on hold or unavailable?"

This is a direct quote from that link that I believe will answer your question: "1. You’re a new seller with PayPal or you’re an established seller but have opened a new account.
When you’re a new PayPal seller, it takes time to build up enough history to demonstrate a pattern of positive buyer-seller transactions. The good news is you can usually move out of this status by confirming your identity and building up a history of positive selling activity.
If you’re an established PayPal seller, but opened a new account, that account will be eligible for holds until a good history is established."

Re: HOW TO EARN FOR BEGINNERS ? NEWBIE HERE
by
Oneandonlydl
on 20/02/2018, 01:00:38 UTC

Hi newbie here. I just want to getting started . May I ask for some assistance? HOW TO EARN FOR NEWBIES  Hoping for good 2018 for me .
Thats All Thank you!

I'd say the easiest way is to get a couple of part time jobs to temporarily make a stack.. Trading is much MUCH easier with 5000 dollars or more.. its weird because the more money you have the less pressure there feels like on each trade (I know it sounds like it would be the opposite but it isn't trust me).  Most of the people I know who have less than 1000 dollars starting out with tend to over trade and chase gains more... they try to scalp each individual trade with very small stacks and get eaten up in fees and trade emotionally.

So here's what I suggest:

1) Part-time jobs, whatever tasks to get to 5000$ as quickly as possible.  I say quick as possible because a month in crypto can be like 6 months of an actual job once your stack is in play.. don't fiddle around working 2-3 hours a day if you have time for 12-14.. you're young and can take it most likely Cheesy
2) When you have your stack ready, buy all in at the exchange at once.. Nickel and diming to exchanges from fiat will eat you up in fees.. for example I'd move all 5000 to GDAX (not coinbase) as a deposit.. it will take longer but the wire fee will be 10$ and will deposit as USD so you can buy at a preferreed time (unlike coinbase where you have to pay 2% plus the current fee).  The only exception to this is in a fud market crash you could buy at coinbase when you don't have time to wait for the 5 day bank deposit to clear and its better to just eat the fee to buy right then and there.
3)  Once you hodl bitcoin/ethereum and bought in at a non fomo price (I hope) be PATIENT with trading.. overtrading is not the answer... if you are bored do bounties.. if you are bored of bounties, learn technical analysis.. if you are bored of all things bitcoin read a book on trading.. and if somehow all of that's boring then go the movies with your girlfriend or play a video game.. Don't trade out of boredem, this will eat up noobs and even experienced traders...
4) Work on multiplying bitcoin.. first year try to work on getting a whole bitcoin.. with 3-5k buy in I think that is a reasonable goal.. Next year work on turning 1 BTC into 3..
5) Learn the relationships between BTC/ETH/Alt coins and their comparitive values against eachother.. if you like alt coins you cant ignore BTC.. trade with alts  coins and btc charts open simultaneously.. learn and see how quickly alts react to BTC pricing and why.. and when its more severe.. and  and.. and.. okay well you get the point.
6) Do NOT get greedy and go chasing pump and dumps.. and don't buy investments based off of just what people on youtube or here say.. Everyone shills their own bags and even the most genuine people will give you biased advice.. you have to learn to do your own research because at the end of the day you'll be responsible for the knowledge you gained and the gains you actualized or the following of other's shills and pump and dumps and the bags you are stuck with.

Good luck, hope it is a great 2018 for you.

Thanks for the genius tip on moving money as a deposit to GDAX. I've been consistently using only Coinbase, but now for larger sums of money in the future I'll definitely use the GDAX option.

It never occurred to me to use anything other than a normal browser such as Chrome for visiting this site along with any other crypto site, but the logic makes perfect sense now. I will definitely beef up my security for future use, at the very least look into VPN or the add-ons mentioned. thanks for the info and the links included in this thread

For cold storage, I am using the Ledger nano S and it works wonderfully. You can encrypt it as well for higher security.
