America is printing so much money that the dollar has been losing it's value for the last 40-50 years. At some point it will collapse and we will need a different alternative. Whether it will be gold or crypto we have to wait and see

Re: Do we need regulations?

even though many are against it, I believe that regulation will actually be good for the crypto community and development overall. If crypto is regulated we will see an influx of institutional investors and that's exactly what we need, more serious players involved in the nascent market. When they get on board things will change for real, and it's already changing as many hedge funds are deciding to invest in the space.

Re: Trick for trading?

you basically already answered your question. You need one thing and that is patience. It might sound difficult but it's really not, what you have to do is convince yourself not to sell anything you buy for the next, let's say five years. If you manage to do that  you will not only double your holdings but multiply then. For that to work of course you need a good strategy, and the best one is to find the coin that will make you the best returns. It's not very easy to do that but you can follow some rules, like investing only in projects that have experience in developing products and services, invest in ideas that make sense to you and to the future of the market, invest in projects that are undervalued and by most people ignored.

Re: how to identify scam coin
by
Orsenise
on 29/11/2017, 13:26:31 UTC
make sure to check a couple of things. First if the idea is realistic, many scam coins usually offer unusual promises or things that are probably not possible, some projects will promise something like 100% return in one month, every month, or something crazy like that. A good thumb rule is: if it is too good to be true, it's probably not true. That's usually the case in anything you try to invest  your money in. Scammer will try to get your attention by offering something that looks unrealistic but is actually possible. What you need to focus on is that you find genuine good projects that have realistic goals and targets and to invest in them in order to profit later on. You might not find every project you pick to be a success but eventually you'll be rewarded if you find a good one that works out for you.

Re: Life after crypto?
by
Orsenise
on 29/11/2017, 10:57:13 UTC
why are you so depressed? You've made money and you've lost money, that's how the crypto space works. This is why you always need to have "rules" not only in life but especially in investing. One of these rules is to invest only what you are willing to lose, or what you can afford to lose. Many are just throwing money in the space and expect miracles, without considering whether they will be able to pay off various other things while they try to get rich. Before investing in anything get a paper and pen out (or open Excel) and do various calculations about how investing in something can impact you financially. You can develop positive and negative scenarios in order to be kinda ready in order to survive the crypto roller coaster.

Re: Cardano the new NEO?
by

on 29/11/2017, 10:13:56 UTC
I'm really wondering what Cardano is really about, and how a three billion market capitalization is justified. I mean yeah, sure the fact that it's just another smart contract platform is clear, but what does it offer than NEO or ETH doesn't? The only thing I've read about the project is that it's build with scientists and academic.. which is nothing new. There are many great projects that have smart teams and that shouldn't be enough to justify such valuation. These NEO's and Cardano's and all these stuff kinda remind me of Bitcoin Gold, Silver, Diamond etc. They are all just copies of Ethereum and each of them is trying to offer the same thing but with some "adjustments". But hey, at least they are not naming their projects Ethereum Gold, or Ethereum Diamond.. I'll have to give them that.

Re: Bitcoin next fork and new shitcoin born?
by
Orsenise
on 28/11/2017, 16:10:12 UTC
thanks to someone talking some sense. All I've heard about today is in which Bitcoin fork I should invest in and why. All these versions are not gonna help you out guys, they are just made to attract attention from the public. Bitcoin is very popular and connecting it to anything gives it instantly some sort of validity, but it's a trap! Don't fall for it! There are no real benefits for anyone unless the technology is completely new or some features are implemented that are not currently present in the original Bitcoin. Make some reasearch and try to understand what the benefits are for these forked versions, you will notice that they aren't really that many and that every forked version out there is just a scam from the developers towards the public. They just want free advertisement and use BTC forks for that reason.

Re: Are you buying altcoins
by

on 28/11/2017, 15:44:04 UTC
altcoins is probably one of the best investments you can make if  you are new to the crypto field. You have probably already lost big chances within the last years, but don't worry, the blockchain industry is still so young and there are hardly any people using all these applications. There will be still so much money coming in that at some point it will become innevitable not to have made a profit regardless at the coin at which you invested. Be careful about scam coins though, there are many out there that will try to trick you out of your money. You should make sure that the investments you can are for legit ICO's or that you invest in already established coins (top ten for example) that have proven to be legit and for real.

Re: ICO good or bad?
by
Orsenise
on 28/11/2017, 11:25:48 UTC
there are so many ICO's out there now that it's really hard to decide which one is good and which is not. I completely understand your confusion and trust me it's normal. It's hard to forecast which coins will have future potenial but try to do the following. First of all read the whitepaper and determine if the idea and solution the project is offering is any good. Is there a market to be served for that idea or product and are there any competitors who might have already developed a similar or even better product? Second check out the team, are they available on chats and are they engaged with the community? How are their past experiences compared to what they want to build. The ICO has to have good terms as well, fair distribution and a large user base/fanbse. It will take some time until you find a good project and it involves a lot of research, but you'll be handsomely rewarded if you find a good one.

Re: Why do most people invest in wrong ICOs to lose money ?
by
Orsenise
on 28/11/2017, 10:44:07 UTC
there are way too many new investors joining the crypto space. You have all of these young people (and even older one's) who have never seen a chart in their life, never read a business model and never used technology in the way they are trying to do. They basically don't know what is going on, and therefore can't take the right decision as to what is good or bad. Investing in an ICO involves a lot of knowledge about the market, the technology and the value the project wants to offer. If you can't evaluate these you're basically throwing money off the window. We need more good investment decisions and to do that we need to learn what makes an investment good (the value it will offer in the short/long term).

Re: I have 12 Bitcoin. What should I do???
by
Orsenise
on 28/11/2017, 09:22:38 UTC
I'll try to go through each of the options you listed

1) Hold the Bitcoin

Sounds very logical. BTC has went up in value by about 900% in 2017 which means it's likely to keep on appreciating. There are many big institutions that want to offer BTC as a security to clients and some will be implemented in December, which will drive price even higher.

2) Invest in altcoins and leave a little in Bitcoin

Sounds even better. Diversifying your portfolio away from only BTC is the best way to make sure you don't incur big losses. You can hold about 2 BTC and invest the other 2 BTC is altcoins.

3) Fund a project and start my own cryptocurrency that solves a problem that current currencies face (scalability, Tx fees etc.). With the funds, I would be able to assemble a team, start a marketing campaign, get listed on exchanges etc. I am also a programmer which helps.

Better not. There are so many projects out there that unless you have a fantastic team, great knowledge and incredible knowhow, you won't be able to make a contrast with what is already out there. ICO's are really competitive and offering nothing does't really work anymore.

4) Convert it to fiat (probably the dumbest idea)

That's a second option. If you really need the money for something important do so. if not better keep it and invest in other coins or hold BTC.

Out of all the options I'd go for 2.

Re: zcash price 'crazy' chart spike
by

on 24/11/2017, 16:11:51 UTC
Zcash is one of the best investments you can actually make. It's the only privacy centered coin that has a protocol which has been praised by many experts and implemented by many big corporations. You have JP Morgan for example who is interested in impementing that technology in their own blockchain in order to ensure that customer data is well secured, which is kinda a big compliment considering that it's coming from JP, and a big achievment for the innovation of the crypto community. Ethereum is looking to implement Zsnarks as well, which will be huge once it's done. A big reason why instituional investors can't invest right now, is because these blockchains are not very secure. If these updates are implemented, we'll be seeing some major money flowing into Zcash.

Re: Is it recommendabe to invest Bitcoin Red (BTCRED)??
by
Orsenise
on 24/11/2017, 15:30:47 UTC
don't do it. There are already so many BTC forks being announced that you are getting a headache just tryingn to figure out what each of them does. You have BTC diamond, BTC gold, BTC cash everyone is trying to create something for themselves in order to make a quick profit. The reason all these BTC version are popping out is because they have an already well established user base (the BTC userbase) and they get free attention that way from people like you, who are willing to throw their money anywhere without regarding the true value of the coin. Try to find something that is more unique than just coins that are copying one another and you might make a real killing one day. Don't go with the mainstream.

Re: Is it too late to buy NEO?
by
Orsenise
on 24/11/2017, 14:08:09 UTC
It's not too late to buy any of the tokens that are out there right now. That's one thing many newbies don't get, the blockchain sector is still in it's infancy, what that means is that we are just getting started and there is still so much potential to go before the price even starts to really appreciate. There are maybe some millions users right now, while there are billions phone users out there. Anyone with a phone can essentially be part of the blockchain, but since the entire concept is so new, it will take a couple of years before people learn about it and start to invest in it. In ten years when the user base will triple or even quadrouple we'll be seeing a price appreciation like we've never seen before. We're still so early and investing from now is the best strategy to make some good long-term profits.

Re: 50k$ in which coin would make you a millionaire in 1-2 years?
by
Orsenise
on 23/11/2017, 16:02:02 UTC
I think 50k is definitely reasonable to become a millionaire in a couple of years. But that won't get you there fast. You need to have a good strategy and a plan on how to get there. First and most important thing will be not to put all your money into one coin. Which means you should be careful on what you invest your money in (that 50k). Make sure to be diversified, which means that you should hold several coins to avoid the risk of getting dumped (if you hold one coin and it "fails" your entire portfolio will "fail" as well). You can liquidate as well some of your holding during these years if you really need the money, but my recommendation would be that you don't do so, and try to hold as long as possible.

Re: What is the best way of getting profit after few years, purchase ETH or ICOS ?
by
Orsenise
on 23/11/2017, 13:38:31 UTC
ETH is really good to have whatever you do. When you are not invested in an ICO you can be invested in ETH. Which means that everytime you have money to invest, make sure to buy ETH, in that way you'll have a good currency that will be stable overal and gain you some descent profit over the years. When you find from the other hand a good ICO that you really want to invest in, then you can consider liquidating a small portion of your ETH holdings and invest them in ICO's. That's the best strategy I can think of, in that way you'll make profits form ETH gains and at the same time be able to invest in ICO's in case something really awesome shows up, don't invest in useless ICO's because the majority out there is just that - useless.

Re: Does a fall follow pride with crypto-currencies?
by
Orsenise
on 21/11/2017, 16:10:30 UTC
This is why many coins are moving from mining to PoW, it's already a solution that is being implemented and the results will show in the coming months and years. Most of the coins shy away from mining due to the many other options that are currently available, at the begin it was necessary for the technology because there wasn't any other options but as people are developing the technology they find different ways to validate transactions. PoS is only one of many examples out there but it will be already implemented by many major projects which is really positive. Others will follow in due time and in the future we won't need mining to start with, so the current electricity waste is just something that we have to deal with until better solutions will be available for the market.

Re: Why do most people invest in wrong ICOs to lose money ?
by
Orsenise
on 21/11/2017, 15:31:45 UTC
Many of the "investors" are new to the crypto market and new to the finance industry in general. They have heard form a friend of two that there is a lot of potential in the blockchain sector, they heard about mining, about how BTC started and how much it's worth now, and they find this a reason enough to get involved into it. Most of them are looking for quick profits and don't really care about the underlying value of the coin that is being offered during the ICO, they are promised big returns and that is the main reason they are joining these sales. Actually most of the coins are crap and most of the investors are even crappier, so let them keep on losing their money and they'll eventually learn how this works. It's a lot of work to invest in good coins, people have to realize that.

Re: NEO Price Up 6700% in six months…this crypto is on the move Australia
by
Orsenise
on 21/11/2017, 14:08:24 UTC
NEO is by far one of the best performers out there. Since the start of the year NEO has indeed surprised as all, I think big part of its success was the re branding, remember that NEO was called Ant Shares before and they made several changes to change their overall mission and appearance. I think they succeeded considering that they are partnering up with many innovative start ups and they are cooperating with the Chinese authorities very well to launch at some point real assets on the market. This is actually really dictating the price of NEO, external forces and how the market reacts to it, even though they are in many ways similar to Ethereum, they still are serving a different but important market (China) in which investors can profit handsomely from.
