Even if it would be a worthless coin (technological value wise), it might help educate some people as to what crypto currencies are, and how altcoins are also a thing. I hope someone does make the coin, I would mine for a little while

You seem to consistently post about how you are going to sell all your coins, and yet, you seem to stay on this thread posting.

If you don't believe in FLO or any of the actively developed products, you can sell your coin at any exchange right this instant. Otherwise, just be patient and wait.

Good things take time. They did not build Rome in a day, and this will take longer than a day as well.

If you don't believe in FLO, dump it all on an exchange and get out. If you believe in the Project then buy more. Just because you haven't seen public announcement after public announcement doesn't mean that nothing is happening...

I plan to continue holding my FLO for at least 2-5 years.

With over 10k invalid transactions we do run into the issue that there are too many transactions to just blindly whitelist, so I agree with you there.


I agree that it would be an issue if invalid transactions were still being generated, it would be bad.


If indeed the issue is with OpenSSL (like it seems to be) then it would be good to update to libsecp256k1, however instead of setting the hardfork at 1,600,000 set it closer to our current block.


There are currently only a few pools that mine Florincoin (with Alexandria being the main one I believe) and only a few solo miners. If we stated that there would be a hard fork at X date and had the main players update then we would be able to mitigate most of the fallout. I think that this would be the best option to move forward, though that is just one girls opinion.

It would be great to hear from the people that actually mine Florincoin or have been around with it.

There are many ways of obtaining it, and they are usually obtained by someone refunding or such.

Not the best way or quality of goods to be buying though.

I am honestly glad that you are updating it, as the main reason I wanted it updated was because it was impossible to build 64 bit Mac binaries on the old 0.8.7 version. I plan on keeping an eye on the repository and making pull requests to pull in any changes that litecoin makes

I am currently working on updating Florincoin up to the latest Litecoin source in order to built 64 bit Mac binaries, but also to provide more constant codebase updates.

Currently only a couple things are left until the update is complete.
1) Fixing the Genesis hash not matching (described below) and
2) Adding back in transaction messages.

Currently I am stuck on a rather trivial issue of the Genesis hash and Merkle hash not matching Florincoin. The variables for calculating it appear to be the same, and the methods for calculating it have not changed massively. I would greatly appreciate if someone could take a look at the code and see if I may be missing something.

It is really amazing what they do, they are always extremely responsive and fast, it was actually very surprising for me when I saw that they even have a URL that redirects to a page for further proof.

Anyways, the miner is still up for sale if anybody wants it.

I had my miner on a 20a circuit (120v outlet) and it just taxed the crap out of the wires and system. I would suggest 30a minimum, and be sure to get a PDU or surge protector!
