Thanks for telling us this as I am one of those that may never know this fact about offline casinos because I don't use them, I prefer gambling online and it has become a part of me because it's how I started gambling, if online casinos never existed I will never become a gambler.

I was too shy to visit one when I was younger and also my father was still very much around, he never had wanted me and my siblings to go near any gambling activities. Online casinos will keep taking the upper hand because of it's simplicity and insta experience among other advantages. Online casino benefits remains unmatched for now.

I don't know exactly where the idea came from that he's almost reaching 1 BTC
That is the internet trend, people love to change something into their own version of story and recycle it over internet again and again that is how we find some news that happened a decade ago now resurface by connecting with other incident. People just love the attention for their creation and they don't hesitate to lie for it. Smiley

@OP, You meant Find a side hustle?

It doesn't matter, words of encouragement is a great tool that have turned the tide of many past wars before, weak soldiers can instantly turned aggressive by words of encouragement, in their own term they call it battle cry.

I couldn't have gotten anywhere in this crypto space if I've not seen people sharing their success stories online, it's the fire that's needed to burn a steak before it can finally be eaten.

Hopes, Fiath, encourages, these are necessarily good for human consumption, many innovations are been created starting from these words alone, it's how we got here in the first place, Nakamoto Satoshi isn't an alien.

Re: Do you think governments should set limits on how much one can gamble daily?
by

on 28/08/2025, 07:38:56 UTC
As what the question is, Do you think governments should set limits on how much one can gamble daily?

For example, in Finland:

Quote
Veikkaus has the following compulsory loss limits in place applicable to all of their games (excluding Casino Helsinki): €500/day; €2,000/month; and €15,000/year.

https://iclg.com/practice-areas/gambling-laws-and-regulations/finland

Should this is be good deterrent to at least minimized gambling in a certain country? Or does it force gamblers to uses illegal means or even travel outside of the country that has this strict law to continue with their gambling?

That 500 euros per day limit will ruin many people out there, I think this amount is too much for most gamblers but will be life savings for those who want to spend more, I've never risked alot of money on gambling before, while many said that's why I don't win big I asked them if they did won anything big and I don't get a reply.

Risking high amount of money still don't guarantee that you will win anything, two figure amount is all I can afford to lose per week, the whole 500 euros is similar to what I make per month and I pay my bills off this amount, imagine me risking it all on gambling in a single day, that's stupid. The problem I have with gambling is underage people, with KYC requirements and also daily limit it should work to an extent but there are smart brats out there, whatever they want they know how to get it, with the use of VPN it's possible to still gamble with no daily limit.

This is a lame topic that doesn't make sense to me, you have your regrets about spending the little Bitcoin you earned through faucets and you also have regrets for not doing your own research and from there investing into Bitcoin, it shows that you have learned your lesson, so what's going to happen now? Start accumulating some Bitcoin, so why the topic? What more do you want to hear from people on this forum? Almost everyone have their Regrets of not joining the early train, you are not the only one, next time learn to create a better topic, this one isn't good enough.

Re: Invest now and Expect positive returns this year, is it a red flag?
by
Outhue
on 27/08/2025, 14:27:18 UTC
The year is almost in it last quarter with few months to go but for bitcoin, investing now is not too late.

There are lots of suggestions pointing to the possibility of bitcoin getting to $250k by the end of the year, how realistic is that speculation?

If bitcoin can get to $250k by December, then buying now in view of getting returns by the end of the year isn't a bad investment plan. Is such a plan a good one or a red flag?

Well atleast investing in Bitcoin is better than those get rich quick investment plans, if you are investing into  Bitcoin your money is safe but the question is when you plan to get your money out because silly price predictions like 250k per Bitcoin might not happen this year at all, while investing it's better to have a long term investment plan in mind.

It's even possible that Bitcoin will not see 150k per one Bitcoin this year, that 200 to 250k price might be something that's coming in the next four years to this time, you need to be prepared physically and mentally. Long term plan is the best, don't rely on price prediction that people are saying, in 2021 many predicted that we will see 100k per Bitcoin, when Bitcoin get to 69k it turned around and a new bear market came.

Re: Should gambling ads be normalized?
by

Nah I won't support this, sorry. We are all not born from tubes as adults, humans are giving birth to children and it takes the help of a father and mother to raise them, children adapts very fast to the environment they found themselves in, this is why things like violence and gambling ads are not good for children. I've spent years of my life growing into a teenager and I don't know about gambling, no exposure of sort until my father talked about it, and warned against it, but I was already in higher institution at the time, I would say this is a perfect timing to know about gambling since I am no more a kid. There is a saying from parents and guardians that kids from 12 to 16 are the most notorious, they aways want to avoid going by the book, all disciplines are likely to be broken at these ages, whatever become a part of them from these ages will likely stay with them forever.

I'm here for satoshi, he is why everyone have rest of mind and trust to invest in peace on Bitcoin, if Satoshi was like Blackrock he would have made Bitcoin a centralised digital currency and I am not a fan of Blackrock at all, I still feel awkward because Blackrock is buying massive amount of Bitcoin, these people will be able to make bitcoin dance to their tone in the future, they can cause massive panic and massive sell off, they will steal from people who have weak mind and still pump the market to later dump on those who fomo, it's not going to look that good in the future for Bitcoin, as they decentralisation side have broken for me, I can't tell about others.

so aside from gambling responsibly, will you agree that we should disclose our gambling habits or is it not the business of our spouses? does gambling really have the capacity to break up a marriage or a family?
Depending on the situation but as partners, there should be no more secrets anymore. That's the reason why you're already tied up to your partner and you shouldn't hide any secrets longer. The reason for most divorce and break ups are not really affairs but about financial matters. And gambling is one of the reason why someone in the relationship is having a break down of his finances because of potential gambling addiction.

It changes nothing, telling me that you are gambling as my partner doesn't mean we are cool, I am not going to get into your head to see how responsible you are with gambling, and most of the time those who called themselves responsible goes out of track later on.

There are so many things to be worried about in life and one of them is taking care of my kid, not the financial side but the stress then I still have to manage my business too, now imagine I have a gambling partner too whom I will have to be worried about, monitoring a grown ass man to not become a addicted gambler is a lot of work me.

If anyone out there is divorcing because their partner is a gambler I won't stop them, there are just too many headaches in the world today, unless you want to end up locked up in an mental institution.

Mining will continue as always, many of us won't be alive in the next 60years to this time and through all this time mining will continue as usual, the demand of Satoshis will be insane at the time. You have 0.000*** BTC and you feel it's worthless now? It won't be in the future, so relax OP and enhoy your time with Bitcoin while you still can.

I had some leftover BTC on Bitpay wallet some years ago, recently I import the seed onto a mobile wallet and I got 0.001BTC on it, free money but worth something, paid some bills with it since I have main wallet for my BTC holding, it's been there since 2017 because it was worthless.

Re: Does playing brainless gambling games makes one dull?
by
Outhue
on 24/08/2025, 18:14:08 UTC
It's said about brain that, "use it or lose it" — now, question being, do you think if person plays brainless gambling games such as slots, dice for major part of his/her daily routine, will it make him/her dull?

Edit: "brainless" as in playing gambling games that does not require using brain, I thought it was clear especially given examples.

What kind of question is this? Games don't affect you unless you play all day, maybe around the clock, and since games are involved with gambling many turned addicts due to the higher time frame spent on gambling. Playing a mahjong game or chess game won't make you a very smart person either, maybe only in the game but that's it, you called slot games a brainless game and I can it the simplest game. Slots games are not puzzle or math solving kind of game, if you need something like that you should find them, but engaging in slots won't make anyone a dullard.

Re: The acceptance of Bitcoin by the younger generation to me is a welcome developme
by

on 24/08/2025, 15:39:08 UTC
This generation is actually looking for were to invest their money and earn returns. The banks are not helping here because even if you save your money in the bank it amounts to nothing because the interest rate is so low.

I am only going to share my own answer based on my surroundings, there is no data to back this up OP, the young men you mentioned are still very new to crypto and Bitcoin, most of them joined after 2021, like I've said this is my own surroundings, I've been accepting Bitcoin as payment for a long time now and since this bull market starts it has slow down, everyone want to hold their Bitcoin and not spwnd it.

With the little youths around me they don't care about holding Bitcoin, they want to sell and make some quick money, they lack patience too, many of them turned to Internet fraud for quick cash flow, it's very rampant over here, I guess parents have a lot of work to do, they raised their kids into grown man pressuring them to bring money home and these youths don't want to wait.

Re: What do gamblers have in common?
by
Outhue
on 24/08/2025, 08:49:41 UTC

We always talk about addictions, about how to gamble to achieve better results, but the topic of what goes through the mind of a healthy gambler is almost never touched upon.

Healthy gamblers are the majority. I wonder if there's something we all have in common that keeps us on the right path and never oversteps our limits.

Perhaps it has something to do with the time we dedicate to gambling, whether we do it for fun, or even if we have other things that take up most of our free time, like family, sports, exercise, or spending time with the people we love.

As a general dynamic, I'd like to know what you do when you're not gambling. I mean, I don't expect you to tell me about your life. The question is more focused on: What activity you do is above gambling? I mean, something you prioritize in your life more than gambling, or what you like to do. What would make you stop watching the Champions League final, for example?

I spent most of my time working, I have a family and a business, I spent most time working on a seeing machine, and do I need to spend much time on gambling? It doesn't require a lot of time because I only have to place a bet and go back to work, when I am done I will check the result.

And if I feel like going for slot games I only do this on free time mostly when I am less busy, I don't have to gamble so I can't call myself a hardcore gambler, but when I have the to gamble I spent my free time on slots game or sport bets. I believe the less time you spend on gambling the better it is going to be for you, because gambling is wired to make you lose more than you will win, it's obviously not something you want to do all the time.

Congratulations to miner bc1q~nwsgdw0wfh4trqal69fz with 9PH for solving the 305th solo block at http://solo.ckpool.org! A miner of this size has about a 1 in 800 chance of solving a block per day.
https://x.com/ckpooldev/status/1957025456709886189

That's not a solo miner, that's a large farm running by a rich personal😂. They know that they will solve the block easier and faster using that much hashrate, the money they use to set up that hashrate and even the electricity bill is going to be massive. Richey favours those who have money, because it's obviously that they will always have the upper hand in everything, one single good move is all they need and they will make it worthwhile. I am even thinking that 100TH will soon be useless for those solo miners, if I want to do this I would rather start with 500TH, solving a block is the goal not playing for luck in the casino.

Re: Whistle to whistle advertising ban
by
Outhue
on 23/08/2025, 16:19:56 UTC
In 2019, United Kingdom implemented a whistle to whistle ban on gambling advertising. Basically no gambling ads can be shown 5 minutes and 5 minutes after a sporting event to avoid kids and or other vulnerable people to see gambling ads when watching a big sporting match. As a gambler, what would you have felt about this? Especially if you were betting on the very same sporting match? Do you think that this was effective in reducing gambling rate in the country?

They are just wasting their time, people are looking for ways to make money because things are changing fast, even those in America are complaining about their economy, you think that people need to see gambling ads before they can decide to gamble? The world have gotten past this, gambling platforms don't even need alot of advert like before.

Covid days did the biggest gambling advert ever, everyone was staying indoor and people have to find way to make money, that exposure alone was so massive than wherever have happened in the past before, there is nothing that can stop gambling or reduce it, the harder the world gets the more people want to gamble.

Is Bitcoin influencing only the lives of the educated and tech-savvy, or is its impact reaching a broader section of society?

Like personally I do online work and this I am aware of bitcoin from long time. But many of my friends still know nothing about bitcoin.

Learning about Bitcoin is not as easy as ABC but talking from what I have seen so far since 2016 I have seen too many people that are not educated to a certain level like having degrees and they are all over Bitcoin like their lives depend on it.

Bitcoin can be complicated only for those who don't know how to handle a phone or a computer, but it's still not impossible to learn, even those who have the limited school experience and dropped out are into crypto that I know so it doesn't matter, practice is all that makes perfect.

I have no degrees and in my school days they make computer science a necessary subject for all, I have computer exposure since the age of 8 years and this have helped to be adapt to many things.

I know of someone who is so addicted in gambling.who spend his time and all his money in gambling.
Which he is finding difficult to stop or control, irrespective of the consequences that surrounds it, such as relationship issues, lack of finance and emotional breakdown, many people go through so many risks just to be able to fund that lifestyle and majority of them are using gambling as there day to day activities (they make it their job) this set of people or person can loss friends, family and relationship.
Because all there focuses are on gambling, when you come across this kind of people. "all you need is to counsel them" because it's beneficial

I won't advice anyone to control their gambling addiction, if they can't stop it means they are still seeing some ways to keep gambling, wait till they reach their bottom, they will call for help even if they can't stop themselves, have you ever seen whereby someone called his family to lock him up for weeks to beat addiction? Same thing will end up happening to such person.

A uncle of mine still can't balance is life till now, the wound from gambling addiction since year 2000 is still affecting him because he doesn't feel alive anymore, he has no hope or faith in anything anymore, he found solitude in hopelessness. He is the reason why I watch my ways with gambling, I don't ever want to end up like him in my life.

If Satoshi's Bitcoin wallet moves then he is still alive, at the time if anyone comes out to say he is the real Satoshi just base on words nobody will believe, even if he is the real person until....

1. His Bitcointalk account become active again.
2. Small BTC is been moved from his wallet.
3. Do some verification or sign through transaction.

But a question remains, why would he want to do this? It is part of his protocols to remain anonymous, because this works better with Bitcoin as it's a decentralised digital currency.

Re: Would the gambling industry survive if people only played for fun only?
by
Outhue
on 22/08/2025, 15:06:15 UTC
Let me explain the thread title. I know a lot of us here would say we should be gambling for fun, but in reality most people don’t gamble just for fun, they do it mainly for profit. Even if they lose, they keep coming back because they hope to eventually become profitable in gambling.

But what if people stop aiming for profit and gamble only for fun, what do you think would be the impact on the gambling industry?

Will we still see it growing or will the industry shrink?

But I've never seen any online casino giving out free games to gambler just for fun, is there any way to gamble without using money at all? That's impossible right? So you have your answer already, whichever side a gambler choose, for money or for fun they still have to pay money. Also how many people are really gambling for fun only? They come on here to lie about that shit and many people believe it, I do gamble for fun but that's not all, I put it this way because it is very hard to win in a casino so instead of chasing wins I rather take my eye off gambling and do it when I feel like it, to me it is not a do or die thing, I have other ways that I can make money.

There is nothing that's too big to die, if not there won't be many big companies and businesses going to zero in the past, Bitcoin on the other hand is different from them though because of the way it was built.

I don't even know that the world will now embrace Bitcoin like this because the utility isn't for everyone but today I am wrong because it was never created for that purpose only, it's a good inflation fighter and also a good store of value. The only problem that i am seeing affecting Bitcoin sooner is the massive involvement of the government, I don't like that Blackrock and others are massively buying, stupid me thought that decentralisation can push them back, but they are here for the money too and they don't care about the decentralised part of Bitcoin.

Re: Gambling Ad warns sufficiently
by
Outhue
on 22/08/2025, 08:08:32 UTC
I recently encountered an ad from youtube about a gambling platform and it featured a very popular celebrity in my country. It was short but a good amount of time was dedicated at the end warning gamblers that gambling will not be the solution to their financial problems and it will not improve their economic status. It got my nod of approval because it really is that easy. But some governments still think that this kind of warning is not enough for gamblers to stay responsible. But don’t you think that a constant reminder can wake someone up from delusion? What do you think? Is this enough or should there be more ways to promote responsible gambling?

Can you drop a link to that ad pls, I will like to see how they do that because judging from your words it seems like this will be the first gambling ads that will warn the public about lowering their expectations from gambling, that's a good job to be honest.

Most gambling ads are foul, I am talking from experience, the few ones I have seen are all advertising based on what gamblers can make out of their games, it was present in a way as if there will never be any form of losses, this is why I called it foul. I believe if every gambling adverts are like this it will atleast look more transparent than before and it will affect new gamblers because they will have it in mind that they have been warned already that winning isn't guaranteed when gambling. Although it feels like it's not enough but it's a good start.
