Re: [ ANN ] SAT² - A new dawn - PoS - No Premine

I'm very confused about the SAT2 staking feature. It was my understanding that coins which stay in the wallet, earn interest over time. For a few days now, I have been receiving micro transactions ... about 0.01 - 0.02 SAT2 every 15 minutes or so. The thing is, my balance is actually going down. When I woke this morning, my balance was 13959 SAT2, as of now, it's been reduced to 13956 SAT2. Can anyone elaborate on this?

I was expecting to log into Mintpal tonight and see my coins converted. They have not been. Sorry if I missed something... when does this happen? Should I cancel my existing buy order at 2 Satoshi? Or will that buy order get converted as well?

P.S. Can someone please for CONF details for solo mining? RPC Port, addnodes etc. SAT and SAT2 please.

That sounds like the blocks got orphaned (as explained previously). Essentially that means that your wallet thought it had found those blocks while the network did not agree. This is something that most commonly happens when your wallet is not in sync with the network, causing your local blockchain to fork (and then by the time you start syncing with the network correctly again, those blocks get orphaned). This is not specific to SAT, this would've happened with any other coin too if you end up on your own fork.

Also - you mentioned that you had mined about 400k SAT in a week. This translates to a hashrate which would make more sense in a pool, rather than mining directly to your wallet. As such, I would recommend to look into that.

Strange that each block I found got the full 90 confirmations before they orphaned. Will give it another shot. As for pools, I have 3.5Mh/s and used to mine on Dedicated Pool. They crashed and or had too many problems so I stopped pool mining. That and they shut down the SAT pool after the wallet issues with 0 coins.

So roughly 400,000 of my SaturnCoin that I have been mining for the past week just vaporized. In the LATEST QT transaction list, the last 44 successfully and previously confirmed coins are now listed as Mined but not accepted. WTF? Below is the only minted coin that still lists as accepted. Will it vapor soon too?

Status: 2492 confirmations
Date: 6/5/2014 10:17
Source: Generated
Credit: 10000.00 SAT
Net amount: +10000.00 SAT
Transaction ID: c903f7c8dc515ee663cd1f4deefece5a204244b6d433f9eb8b7ca15f7d3be9e7

That transaction looks fine. Could you send the transaction IDs of the ones that are missing (orphaned?) by PM so we can look into that?

Also, did you check whether those transactions also showed up in the block explorer? If they did not appear there, then that could mean that your wallet basically went on its own fork (which would mean that the blocks you found at that point did not exist on the correct fork, and they got orphaned when your wallet found its way back on the network). If that is the case, then you should make sure to add some addnodes to your saturncoin.conf configuration file (particularly those that are listed in the OP, if you need more then just let us know). Everyone should do so, and even more so if you mine directly to your wallet.

The trans IDs of the missing blocks no longer show in the QT after restarting it. Previously they were all grey with a '?' instead of the normal checkmark. So I have no idea how to retrieve the IDs. My trans list now shows accepted blocks on June 5th with the next one showing June 8th. All coins mined on the 5th through the 7th are gone. Here is my conf file config:

listen=1
daemon=1
server=1
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=192.168.*.*
rpcuser=x
rpcpassword=x
rpcport=10018
rpcconnect=127.0.0.1
maxconnections=20
addnode=213.179.192.62
addnode=74.196.59.25

At any given time while mining, the most connections I get is 4.

Seems people have stopped mining. At present a record low of 50Mh/s. That's about 30 280X's ... globally. Slow confirms, stuck withdraws and Dedicated Pool still having a note on their pool that the wallet doesn't work may have something to do with that.

So the Wallet is stuck at 77777..Must expect some news soon...

We are aware of this and have been working on this for the past hours. Our apologies for the lack of earlier update.

The main issue is that several of the pools had not updated to the new wallet version, and therefore continued mining on the old one. This caused that they continued hashing on the incorrect fork. Under normal circumstances this would not be a problem, however as it turns out, the hashrate on this incorrect fork (which uses the old wallet) is higher than on the correct fork. This causes that the new wallets produce this error.

We are working with the pools and exchanges to resolve this situation immediately, to make sure that everyone is on the same fork. Rest assured that this is being treated as a top priority.

Please note that all plans are still on track as announced - the transition to PoS remains unaffected.

We will post a full update on the block 77777 issue momentarily.

I have notified BinaryClock, manager of DedicatedPool

Update: BinaryClock noted that the new wallet doesn't work so their sticking with the old wallet until block 80,000

I just synchronize the wallet.
Maybe the problem is over?

Maybe, looks like we're on block 65910 now. I'm going to wait a little before mining/transacting again.

Can you update ?

Somethings up with the blockchain. Until this is resolved, I don't recommend sending coins to or from wallets, exchanges or pools.

Share your Saturn address, it is a pool issue but you are from saturn community as well, i am sending the first 200 k Saturn to help make back what the pool made you miss Smiley   Saturnians lets help our fellow man!

SNh35jTyxK8fVxJaC4GYuGy2gEAKaDKj8E Please and thank you.
That's my problem and want to help me, not you.
Are you kidding?

Do you think you were the only one who lost out when the pool went down? I was also mining as I stated earlier. In fact...

I was the one who discovered the problem
I was the one who found the cause
I was the one who tracked down BinaryClock (pool owner) and had him fix the problem

Had I not done any of the above YOU and other pool miners would have lost out much more. So forgive me if I ask for a small donation as well.

Hi Overspeed,

True, you are also affected. Do not remember.
I apologize and I send 50,000 saturns. (50% donation vague user)

vague thank you very much for donating 100,000 SAT

Regards

No problem, i'm just glad I caught the issue before it lasted too long. That pool runs on the EST time zone and the owner would likely not have found the problem until morning (an additional 8 hours). It could have been much worse. I monitor the pool regularly so you should be good to continue mining.

You didn't have to share your donation with me. If and when I receive it, i'll send it back to you. If others want to donate to me for my troubles, then they can do so.

SNh35jTyxK8fVxJaC4GYuGy2gEAKaDKj8E

Good luck.

Have disappeared [color = red] 1,375,000 coins [/ color] [/ b] with 0 confirmations of my account [color = red] dedicatedpool [/ color]. Contact IRC tells me that SAT was on a fork for 3 hours and can not do anything.
What does it mean?. Have I lost my coins?.

I was also mining on dedicated pool during those hours. Yes, you did not earn any coins for that period. It wasn't really a fork, just something failing to load on the server.

really?  you accept being a "pro" troll yourself, anyway just moving along, we continue to work.

Just do us all a favor please... fix the OP title! As others have mentioned recently, it is inexcusable that these grammatical errors are still there. How is SAT to be taken seriously like that? I know everyone is busy but that is a 5 second fix.

If you want to stick with the original theme, the following is grammatically correct:

☆☆ [ANN] Saturncoin [SAT] - One of the fastest and most secure coins available today! ☆☆

But then again, all coins are staying this these days (truth or not) and it's just white noise. Try something a little more straight forward without the upsell:

☆☆ [ANN] Saturncoin [SAT] - Fast transactions, secure & ambitious! ☆☆

Once that is fixed, I would put it to the community to come up with an official moto/slogan for SAT. The KARM community did this recently. They now market KARM as "Doing good is good©". We have a logo and website which is great, now lets get this done.
