We need a user-rating system on this board
by
PIO
on 04/08/2011, 07:41:07 UTC
It would be good if we could rate users on this board and maybe write a small comment too so we know what people we safely can exchange bitcoins with.
I like to trade with Paypal and since Paypal got that crazy chargeback-policy many users are afraid that they will get ripped off. That's a good reason why such system is needed, so we can find honest traders.
Of course I understand that this system might be abused but if a new user got a good rating & comment from a ~2000+ post user then I would feel a lot safer trading with that new user.

A rating/comment-system where both users have to write about each-other before the rating & comment shows up would be good, or what do you guys/girls think?

Simple Linux and OpenBSD mining software for server without graphc-card?
by
PIO
on 06/07/2011, 12:01:26 UTC
I'm looking for some mining software both for Linux and OpenBSD on servers without graphiccards that is simple to setup and can send the coins it generate directly to my bitcoin-address.

Can anyone recommend a good miner?  Smiley

Re: America is about to hit the toilet and probably with most of the world.

48 percent of Americans say another great depression is likely? Hmmm... 48 percent of Americans also don't believe in evolution... Jus sayin'

When the world replace the US Dollar as reserve currency the USA will definitely get into another depression. A lot of countries will suffer but I believe the USA will have the hardest time of them all.
The world cannot simply accept the USD forever since the Federal Reserve just keeps printing more and more all the time.
There is a reason gold and silver have skyrocked to record levels and there is a reason countries all over the world tries to get rid of all their US treasury bonds.
I would advice all US citizens to save some of their money in gold and silver, remember that you dont lose your money you just replace it in another currency. Gold and silver will never go down to zero unlike the USD that have that possibility.

"All" new music that is played on mainstream radio sounds very similar. It's like the music-companies own the same music-generator and just push a button to make the music.  Cool

Good. What's the point to hack and destroy something just for fun? Some people make a living of their websites.
Lets say someone server get destroyed and the backup fails. That persons life can get destroyed too.
Some people just dont realize that until it happen to them.
I think they put out there the reason behind each hack they did.

I would love to know the reason behind hacking game-related stuff.

I got a website with 2000-3000 visitors/day.
My stats looks like this:
KHPS - Last Hour: 0.15

Isn't that very low?

Re: why the sudden bitcoin interest in Sweden?
by

Sweden have always been on the front when it comes to technology.
Some ISPs in Sweden can provide 1 Gbit/s Internet to regular people... 10-100 mbit/s is standard.
I wish I lived there. Sad

To think that not so long ago I was paid 50 BTC for two hours of work.

LOL! And I didn't want to "go in" when a BTC was worth 0.60 because I thought it was too high...  Sad

It's too early to tell.
If the demand on Bitcoins is high then UBC would be better, but if the demand is low then BTC is better.
