I agree 100% with donor [Niels], when in need of funding dumping 100.000.000 (double the current available amount of FLDC) into a developing project is not the way to go. Look at what happened to Ripple when that one guy with loads of ripples blinked and suggested he might sell a few...
-- You have a good thing going, amazing dedication to the project, best documentation and setup of any altcoin or asset I've seen plus you helping out other struggling assets you should be able to find funding somewhere without having to dilute your own asset. Somewhere still need to be defined, once I have suggestions for a somewhere I will let you know
i think its a good idea cuz there are 100's of people thinking of creating projects that have no. proven plan and will be asking for crypto to fund .. Foldingcoin: to actually have a plan working project and future and other assets following Foldingcoins footsteps. it wont be hard to gather interest. and to think it automatically will water down FLDC is true but only if we selffulfill the prophecy. just put in some buy orders to prepare for the dump. also the funder would most likely hold 1/2. -- You have a good thing going, amazing dedication to the project, best documentation and setup of any altcoin or asset I've seen plus you helping out other struggling assets you should be able to find funding somewhere without having to dilute your own asset. This will create a stir. If it can be organized properly, why not create an thorough 1-2page guide explaining the new system and how works and why it could be better, and how to use bitcoin safely. It is an experiment.. With the Greek people. "Were going to the Bitcoin"
An obvious point to make out that is a problem for bitcoin is simply if it works out, some few peoepl have a lot to gain, even if only a brief adoption occurs
I think having bitcoin as the main currency is a scary scenario in itself. Isn't fear already a driver of the economy. However being ruled by a small elite sucks too. Having a bunk debt based globally organized economy is also.

Bitcoin/blockchain could keep the new greek government fiat currency democratic.
If done properly, the coins could be portioned off early enough, and become worth many times by the time the greek people get them .

I also see Altcoins as a fair way for every1 to get into bitcoin who missed the boat in the early stage .. cuz altcoins can be exchanged for bitcoin so a low cost miner can gain bitcoin by mining a more profitable altcoin and trade it for bitcoin. It a fair way to balance out the imbalance and let a larger % of the population participate in the bitcoin boom yet to come

As founder of an altcoin, I can only partially agree with the OP. I agree that 99% of the coins are worthless, or worse scams.
There are two kinds of altcoins being developed:
1. Those that think they have some compelling new technology and can replace bitcoin - hardly likely. Those are the ones that crash & burn every week as next week's "technological breakthrough" arrives.
2. Niche coins, designed to fit a specific community - unfortunately those are mostly scams as well, but there are legitimate ones
When Paypal/Bitpay/GoCoin started accepting, not only bitcoin, but Lite and Doge, the market dynamics changed. I think the crypto market will move towards only a handful of coins being used, the overwhelming majority will be bitcoin, but the users will pay with the coin of the community they feel connected too. For example, if they like the Doge community, they will use it instead of BTC.
So the alts that survive will be those who build a real user community, and that is not bad for bitcoin, as these user communities will bring more and more users to crypo. In our case we have introduced many, many people to bitcoin, since they need bitcoin to buy our coin.
Why could these users not just use bitcoin? Because they are not connected to the cause (the revolution of bitcoin, the reaching the unbanked, saving trans fees, etc), but they are passionately connected to their own community.
