I have seen many funds get launched in the last month with $1 Billion with a "B" or more capital to invest in distributed ledger technologies.
The next boom is going to be investment into those technologies. Private capital is entering the space and it will dwarf what ICO projects have raised so far.
I can't predict how it will affect market valuations of cryptocurrency.

Many ICOs have their token sold at a fixed price vs. the ETH. For example: 1 ETH = 1000 Tokens.

Orico is correct, but only if you are buying Ethereum now. The cost would be lower to exchange for Alts.

Diversifying your investment into 10 coins or tokens is a good idea. Anymore than that when you are just getting started will create problems. The amount of hard drive space for 10 coins alone will be over a terabyte.
Bitcoin and Ethereum are both at a year low and I think it is a good time to buy both.

Altcoins were going down because bitcoins prices are falling since the start of this year and most of the altcoin price just depends on the bitcoin so we will see the recovery on altcoin when we see the rise in bitcoin price.What we need to do now is just remember the volatility is just a normal in the crypto field so we have to keep patient and keep on holding to make profits from our investment.
Thanasis has it right. This is a continuing pattern. All coins are currently tethered to Bitcoins price. If Bitcoin goes up, so do Alts. If Bitcoin goes down, so does the market.
That being said, this space is very new and has many problems.
The first project that can start crossing milestones no other crypto can should detach itself from Bitcoin's value and be in a different category of its own.
