Is this the new Bitcoin using marketplace? I need the actual confirmed amount of people with accounts on the site. How popular is it? Can you confirm how many people are using it/ buying off of it? I need a good place where I can sell some things.

A lot. But any person out there knows it is not really the most intelligent thing to actually be specific on how much money you have as it will probably attract lots of  beggars. In which case, I barely have any.

Just wondering, where is the administrators of OpenBazaar? Are they all here using BitcoinTalk as well or are some not present here? I wanted to ask what they're going to do about actually broadcasting their new service and webpage.

My worst mistake was undoubtedly to join this great alt economy too late, when price has achieved the $400 and it is too expensive to buy bitcoins with my own money, despite I had the opportunity to join this ecosystem early, several years ago but I missed that opportunity.
$400 isn't that much money. You still have an opportunity to work as much as possible to grab your very first Bitcoin.

I'm sure they have multiple accounts they can use to still give negative ratings or positive ones.
They actually have people on a default trust list where if you give a rating to somebody and you're not even in that list, it will not impact their rating but the information they've left is still available to the public.

My worst mistake was giving my money to some scheme that I hadn't even heard of.
yeah, its better not to invest anywhere that is offering big returns because the risks of turning it to a scam are really high then and theres no need to take that much risk

i think that my worst mistake was when i decided to send my money to other person as a loan without any of his details, of course he didnt return anything to me, though that was just 13 dollars
I try not to, but a lot of other people go around glorifying these same exact schemes trying to make me think they're promising. Then again, they didn't try. They full blown succeeded.
Don't worry. A lot of these schemes actually don't last very long, and they definitely get reported. Most of the time, it's things like this that keep people away from Bitcoin.
Yeah. Seriously. It's a complete epidemic of issues where you don't know who to trust! No wonder Bitcoin is still a lousy $400 after almost a decade of being available to the public.
Well, we're cracking down on more and more schemes. The trust rating option actually gives people the opportunity to flag somebody you don't trust.
Mhm...about that...

That trust rank system can easily be occupied to ultimately do some abusive and unjustified marks for the simple fact that you dislike someone personally. I may or may not have seen it, but I definitely know what I'm discussing in this specific position here. I can already Invision it as an abuse of power, and everyone giving negative ratings or positive ratings to people inside or out of a clique.
Most of the time, people would get kicked off of that trust loop for abusing it so don't worry too much about that.

What scheme was it?

honest it was so long ago, instantaneous and just all around irrelevant to me that I don't even remember. I really was close to forgetting about it, but this thread made it just come back to life.
Yeah. Always make sure to really thoroughly look into investments before making them. Bitcoin is covered in scams.

My worse was to invest a small amount in the HYIP scam. It was only 0.01 but sufficient enough to teach me a lesson.
Gladly, it wasn't a hefty price amount.

My worst mistake was giving my money to some scheme that I hadn't even heard of.

Re: Which would you prefer? Satoshi is a male or female?
by
PakistanHockeyfan

I'm trying to figure out why gender would matter. I love how people focus in extremely insignificant things. Let's say Satoshi actually is a woman. Would you all of a sudden drop Bitcoin and use another cryptocurrency?

The whole thing about it is laughable. It really does make no valid point in having a preference to either gender. If it matters to anyone tho, i
always imagined him to be a guy in his 30's or 40's, but it would make no difference to me if he is a woman, none at all.
Last time I checked, Satoshi was a very old man in his 70's who just retired.

I saw some ads on internet which were busy in promising to double the coins in few hours, so I invested in it and I lost everything and then I came to know there is nothing like doubling coins.
You can make back all those coins through holding and selling when the time is right
yeah but it is a really hard thing to do to be honest if you dont have a lot of money and its also hard to predict whether the price will grow or not so i doubt that will work

the worst mistake i did with my coins was that i decided to invest it in a hyip that after a few weeks turned to scam, i have lost all my money that i have put into it
How much did you invest? Sad

Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear?
by

No. When it's time to sell, where do we sell our BTC to? The air?  We need fiats, we need banks, and we need our credit scores. I don't really believe we'll ever get rid of banks. Perhaps one day when everything is so technologically advanced, but definitely not now anyway.

I think the biggest mistake I currently did was selling much too earlier. It's okay though, as I can easily reload my wallets with the equivalent of one Bitcoin and wait to see if the price will increase.

You should have at least 1 Bitcoin. Sometimes I have one in multiple wallets. It's easier to adjust with and follow up with as long as you're consistently watching the fluctuation patterns

Re: BTC going up for 500$ again ? ::)
by

On my ticker I see it rise at a high of $426 but then today it is down to $421 I think the market is moving to much for my sites ticker to keep up with a real price on it.

Bitcoin will really go high to $500. There are possibilities to get growing till $500 before the days of halving.
How can we consistently get two parts of roughly equal sides in Bitcoin? I have never been able to comfortably follow halving dates.
What exactly do you mean by that? A halving is for a pump and dump.

I actually have not seen BTC to go to $500 this month, but we are still technically just starting out. With that in mind, being patient must be in our vocabulary

Re: How can we make bitcoin's price only RISE and never FALL?
by
PakistanHockeyfan
on 10/04/2016, 16:00:35 UTC
If there is no pump, there will be no dump. So we need some big organisation to suppress when it rises to fast.

That's right, the price must go down each time it increase or else it will not be balance, the price could rise very high and might fall to very low and might not be healthy for bitcoin and the community...It'ss better this way, small increment each increase and drop...
I already just said I want their to be a fall and that my title was esque. I just want it to grow more often then drop.
