Just a note that if you are given a team drive then the OP will be able to see your files if he chooses to, since he is the G Suite administrator.
Careful of what you upload, and your files could be removed at any time if OP were to stop paying for his G Suite subscription.

OP, any chance of a refund? I don't think I'd like to use this taking into account the fact that someone else can view all my files.
You are under an EDU admin. I do not control this after re-issuing the team drive. He could hardly care to see your files unless its reported since he manages the whole school.
By default no one can see your files, but admin can invite himself to the team which you get it but I would not see why he would do that.
Like product page says "Private information should always be encrypted if you don't feel comfortable."
