Have not read much into it(or it might already exist) but why not create a proposal that the 10% block reward go towards creating Foundation/Developer MasterNodes? That way it adds nodes to the system while also doubling up as steady source of revenue for development?

If it's been suggested already, carry on as per usual...

I think the fact that so few people are selling, is leading me to believe we're far too under priced at the moment.

Lack of volume was leading me to believe we were overpriced, but unlike other alt coins we've increased and sustained irrespective of the others.

0.015 ... now it's 0.01535.

Crushing shorts has never felt so good lol, I'm just concerned about the lack of volume still.
I recently used some MN earnings to throw some coin at the Lisk IPO, which I would classify as a special situation. I'm a hodler and normally don't look for opportunities to sell. I agree the volume is still low compared to peers, but it has always been historically low. Something like a Bitfinex announcement could do wonders for improving Dash's volume.

Why would Bitfinex, who've added and removed dash, re-add dash to their exchange?

This is a good point, although one important consideration is level of risk. With margin lending, isn't there significant counterparty/exchange risk? If the site you're lending on goes Gox, then you've lost everything. Dash has price fluctuations, but I would think is more secure due to the lack of these risks.

When I said there weren't many places you could invest your holdings and get a return on them I was referring more to asset classes. But it's true you can always lend them out and get a return.

Indeed, if the exchange goes on the blink, then I've lost it all. But then again in this way it's similar to hosted pooled MN services--counterparty risk. If they decide to take my dash and run, I can do shit all about it (unless there is some sort of governance model that is being used with multi-sig protection). Me trusting the exchange to not go under is similar to trusting the hosted Pooled MN service.

@Tok: Isn't holding and lending BTC an asset class in itself? With a dash MN you are essentially doing the same thing--loaning out your Dash to provide MN for the network, as well as enable InstantX.

******** Massive Opportunity for Operators of Pooled Masternode Services *********

I've lost track of who's running polled masternode services, but I think a huge window has just opened for them.

There is now a whole new generation of bitcoin whales, sitting on big profits from the Ethereum revaluation. Those profits are not doing anything at all. They are earning zip return. Nada.

Dash has a reserve currency market that pays a return. It seems an open goal to me since there isn't anywhere else they can put their funds that gets them such a high a return - no banks, no money markets, no bonds. (There are some POS coins - but quite high risk. Dash is getting a lower risk investment with every year that passes, especially at the current price).

It's no different from what hedge funds do - they put some of their holdings in risk assets and some in fixed income. Even in the fixed income sector they diversify - some $US treasuries, some corporate bonds, a small amount of junk bonds, some Swiss bonds, whatever.

The Dash reserve market is one of those (fixed income) destinations in crypto - currently just about the only one. The fact that the 'pooled masternode' services allow people to invest any amount at all is immense.

I'd say it may be perfect timing for a massive promo campaign.

I wouldn't market it as a masternode service. In fact I wouldn't even bother mentioning the word 'masternnode' other than in the contract text declaring where the funds are invested. (Think of it like a pension fund that invests in fixed income bonds of different types. They don't bother their clients with the specifics of the actual assets, just with what the guaranteed return is).

I'd market it simply as a financial product for cryptocurrencies. You could even do a bitcoin one if you can find a way to hedge the exchange risk.

I wouldn't say nowhere, I've put my ethereum profits into margin lending, and it's earning me a fair amount.

Although as someone with about a 1/4 stake in a pooled MN, I do agree Smiley. Although the time it has taken me to earn 5 dash has been much longer than simply lending out BTC. I've already made enough in a month margin lending out 2BTC to buy 5dash than 2BTC in a dash MN would have made me in a month.

I still don't deny that having a stake in an MN is awesome and as a former dash GPU miner (no point now since ASIC will destroy profits) I'm happy to have a constant stream of dash for the foreseeable future, but simply margin lending has given me more back than simply having a stake in a dash node. Obviously the return will be less stable since this past month there has been a substantial increase in alt trading and pumping, so effectively people selling shovels (i.e interest lending margin loans) are able to make a fair amount.

Just thought I'd add in my 2C

It's hosted in the US, which proxy do you use ? You can also just use the Dwarfproxy and point it to the eth-apac node.

Ah, that might explain it. I'm in Africa, so the distance probably is the issue.

The port 80 pool on Dwarf is in the EU, much closer to me.

I cant use the dwarfproxy pool you have since I am behind a firewall and cannot connect to it.

Seems like my hashrate will move to dwarf, much cleaner connection for me

Sorry Sad

Where is your port 80 server hosted? I keep getting DC/s and ethminer crashes when mining on that pool, even with the proxy running. hashrate was all over the place still, according to the dashboard and graph, only getting 75/mhs compared to the 93mhs reported on dwarfpool. Earnings are aslo a bit stronger

Tried out dwarfpool without proxy and so far and it's reporting my hashrate and earnings correctly:

I'm mining behind a proxy,so might that be an issue?

Sorry what do you mean "mining behind a proxy"?  What happens when you type 127.0.0.1:8080 into your browser?  Try different browsers, some don't like that.

Also your bat needs to look like this
ethminer -G -F http://127.0.0.1:8546/miner/Hashrate/RigName --parameter --parameter

You're forgetting the stuff after the port

Yeah still not working. Might it be because I don't/cant have geth installed on my local machine?

No you don't need it

You rock dude, got it working. I've been mining so long without getting the maximum hashrate, so this is great. Thanks a bunch. BTC addy?
You're welcome.  Don't worry about paying me anything, though I appreciate the sentiment [unless you have 1000 gpus Smiley

I'm still getting horrible hashrate. Hashrate is bouncing all over the place on the dashboard, but in windows its around 92Mhs, but on the website graph shows my average is between 70Mhs and 83Mhs.

I am running the proxy as well, but I really don't know if it's working?

My earning for the last day was 2 Eth. Much lower than the 3 estimated for my hashrate.

We can't tell if you're using the proxy or not unless you post your ethminer bat.

According to this http://karldiab.com/EthereumMiningCalculator/ you're getting paid for 70-83 mh/s like the pool says.  Maybe try another one of suprnova's pools.  Ping them all to find the lowest latency.

This is my bat:

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
SETX GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
ethminer --cl-local-work 256 --cl-global-work 8192 -G --opencl-platform 1 -F http://80-eth.suprnova.cc:80/xxxxx.x/95 --farm-recheck 100

You're not using the proxy, you're going straight to the pool.  Since your miner is located on the same machine as the proxy it should be

ethminer --cl-local-work 256 --cl-global-work 8192 -G --opencl-platform 1 -F http://127.0.0.1:8546

Don't use the farm recheck

I've tried that, and getting this:

I'm mining behind a proxy,so might that be an issue?

Seems like the pool is reporting my hashrate as a bit less than my actual hashrate on my machine--I'm getting 90Mhs, yet the pool graph is showing my average is around 80Mhs? I am running the proxy and mining on the port 80 pool?

Anyone else seeing a small discrepancy in hashrate on the site?

Hashrate seems to be sitting much better than it used to. Payout seems to have slightly increase. All without using the proxy, merely the new farm recheck parameter

Is there a way to mine from behind a firewall using the proxy? I've always mined through port 80, but now I get RPCon error after trying to use the proxy method?

Hi !

Sorry I just noticed there was an error on the Port 80, you can use

http://eth-us.suprnova.cc:80 for now, fix for the old 80-eth is underway and should be okay in a few hours.

@dygus:
I've asked rigs.online if you can use the proxy.. Did you try it already ?

trying to get it to work, but this error keeps coming up:

You have configured a backup upstream server in your proxy config which you need to disable if you don't have "geth" running on your local machine (127.0.0.1)

No geth running on my local machine. How might disable that? I am but a simple peasant Tongue

I think i'm doing it correctly now? Besides backup pools, what other benefits are there?
