No, I am not PMing BadBear a lot. I just PMed him once.
Its a one whole week now. My account got locked on 24th and 7 days have passed.  Cry

Thank you for example, that users should use a real email address on accounts (especially if you are doing business here).

This has been interesting to follow.  Sorry for your problem.

Bitmain... ಠ_ಠ

Come on guys... At least pretend to care at little bit better.

Edit: I mean, I suppose one is getting a "deal" with Bitmain erroneously valuing coin so highly, but where is the consistency ? Idonteven...

Trust me they are not going to bring it down.

In all fairness, they might drop the price.  However, the trend seems to be, quick to raise the price, but slow to lower it.

Rude!  That's all I have to say to Bitmain.  Money hungry Pigs!  Great products for the most part but selling PreMined equipment is just uncool!  We're fools if we don't believe they have the tech but choose to upgrade their own farms first, then try and sell them as S7's.  May be wrong but the silence would tell anyone that this is the course.
Don't ever again advertise a product you don't intend to ship, not just once but twice.

I am glad someone agree's with me.

It was really tedious waiting.... months ago.  Now it is far beyond rude.  It's a total slap in the face to customers, to wait so long without any real statements (except "soon" "wait")

"But if people are willing to pay $20 for a 3GH stickminer with fixed voltage, would people still pay $25 for an 8GH stickminer that can be adjusted to 15GH and still come in at more power-efficient than any miner you can actually buy anytime in at least the next month?"

I say HELL YES!!

I totally agree.  Kudos to you again for what you are doing and how you are doing it.  I look forward to buying your products and supporting your endeavors.  Thanks!

Yes, but aren't S5's known to sometimes overheat when the internet goes down and there's no hashing going on?  I personally added a rear fan and wired it to a full 12v so it's always running full out even if the internet goes down and the controller board signals slow or no fan speed.

I have a pair of S5's that do indeed heat up when the internet goes down.  Others don't have that problem.  I would suggest S5 users, kill their modem to force a test on their S5's to see how their's react with no internet.  My fans slow way down, but the heat goes way up.  YMMV

There are pages and pages in this thread that talk about the same runaways temps when the Internet drops out or a problem with the pool. Users have posted screen shots and everything. Nothing was really done about it. This is nothing new.

I know it's nothing new.  I know there has been plenty of discussion in this thread about it.  I wasn't trying to bring up an old topic.

User Soy asked a question:
Yes, but aren't S5's known to sometimes overheat when the internet goes down and there's no hashing going on?

I thought I would give a brief confirmation with my first hand experience, that it can indeed be a problem.  Just trying to give another user a short answer to their question.

I need to talk to someone who has fans, TCF1212DE (DELTA). someone there? Undecided

I can't find that model with Google (typo maybe).  I have Delta fans on my S5's.  I just hooked them onto the fans ports on the controller.  What's going on for you

these are the fan, but now I know for sure that the controller S5 can not handle

http://www.cwc-group.com/tfc1212desp07.html

Some people had to change the order of the wires to work proper.

Mine are the Delta AFB1212SHE and worked with the standard wiring configuration.

I hope you can get yours to work.

Well, as soon as I get around to ironing out the Compac issue that product will exist. And once I know it works, about a day later I can be sending off for Amita prototypes. And as soon as I can successfully test prototypes of the 18-chip board I'm 80% done designing, and using that as a base we iron out the hard/soft requirements for fan speed, temp sensing and voltage adjustment on it, that product will exist as well.

This is exciting.  Great progress.  Although you've mentioned you don't things have been moving along quickly, I really think, in a big picture, they have been moving right nicely.  Look at how close you are now to having multiple products.

In a way, it's a compliment if Bitmain didn't want to sell to you.  It would be most likely, that they're concerned you are a viable competitor to them.

Thank you Sidehack & Novak.  Keep up the GREAT work!

Isn't Bicknellski* a thread hijacker? He hijack most threads to attack QS and Dogie. Exposing their scams(if any) is ok but he hijacks every threads. I thought this is against forum rule but I don't see any action by mods. I hope he got a warning.

* https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=76550

Well that really depends on what your opinion of what hijacking a thread is.  If it's posting off-topic, then yes, you are right, that is against the forum rules (in the first post in this thread).  On posting off-topic, I've seen you do that a few times before.  I've seen QS do it as well.  I've seen Dogie do it A LOT.  The mods seem rather selective on who gets in trouble for that.

For another possibility of your definition of hijacking a thread, if for example, I make a thread that it's my opinion that all miner manufacturers must make the outside of their miners purple, and you become the major participate in the thread (but you are posting on-topic), I don't see anything against that, in the rules, nor in my opinion either.

I would think if the intent of your post is about your opinion that Bicknellski is attacking Quickseller and Dogie, that should be posted in Meta and is off-topic in this thread (which is against forum rules).  If the intent of your post is about questioning a user breaking forum rules, I think this is the right place.  You should separate those 2 concepts into the proper board areas, so you don't break the forum rules.

Wow these heatsinks are awesome! at least some update on the S5  Grin

Indeed!  I'm glad to see Bitmain trying to cool off and improve the S5.  Thank you Bitmain.

I would also be curious see some real world temp difference, reported in the GUI and with a laser thermometer (rather than some guesses).

Thank you Vorta for watching and making the post, which great pics no less.

I appreciate the thoughts, but they unfortunately don't answer the heart of my questions.

Could a moderator or staff hopefully respond?

I'm not clear on what double posting really is.

1 - Is it posting twice in a row in thread?  As Shorena already mentioned, I also don't have a problem with that, when it is addressing different points in the same thread, or to break up a long post.

OR

2 - Is it posting the same information (even exact duplicate) in 2 different threads?

Guess I should ask more clearly: if both, either or neither (1 & 2) are allowed?

I've seen a user this week, do some back to back posts, that were really odd - just quoting previous posts he'd made in the same thread.  That isn't appropriate, right?  (necro-posting)  If not, what is the best way to bring it to the attention of a moderator?

Thanks.

Agreed, I didn't donate to the burger fund expecting to get some preferential treatment or any of it back later, I just like seeing cool stuff happen in the community.

Hear, Hear.  Some call it karma, others pay if forward, and some reaping what you sow.  I love all of the positive aspects of this project and the developers.  I believe that is really the bigger part of what makes this so attractive to many, including myself.

I'm looking for a a long-shot investment of mine to pay out handsomely soon.  When it does, I will donate more than enough to cover the materials and wages for Sidehack and Novak on this project.

Keep up the great work!

I would urge you to be very skeptical.

As many have correctly said, you cannot create or generate new bitcoins at the mere click of a button.

I have seen the sound functioning logic of one system that can collect free Bitcoin for you.  It would be inaccurate to label that as a bitcoin generator.  It would also be a relatively small amount.

I probably won't buy one. How weird is it to buy a t-shirt with your own name on it so you can get the profits? I'll just support the project in a more... direct way..

I have to say thank you sidehack.  Thanks for being respectful to people here.  Thanks for giving to the community, particularly with this project.  Please keep enduring through the development frustrations.  I look forward to the future products you will create from this start!

Well, technically, I made this thread.

Indeed you did.  Though I have read the entire thread, over time, since its start.  I forgot who the originator was. My apologies about mispeaking on that point, of who made this thread.  Thanks for the correction.

I've tried to be patient with "just the techs".  The problem is that "just the techs" started more than 2 months ago telling us there will be an upgrade soon.  That has been quite some time now.  You are Bitmain.  You made this thread.  You have not told us anything here except "soon", "hopefully" and lots of other garbage responses (including: we're going on holiday, again!)

I used to think Bitmain was a rising star.  Looking at how you have treated customers this year, you are more of a shooting star - a quick, bright showing, but off in the distance, never to be seen again.  First the ever changing pricing tricks.  Now a second go around at an S2 upgrade, that has been more months without real details of any kind.

Do something.  Say something of substance about this upgrade.

Please remember, none of these items are pre-order.  Our sales team and the Marketing team will make the announcement when it is ready.  we are just the techs assisting you guys with the need.
