Something fishy about the Startchat App
I downloaded it onto new phone month or so ago but hadn't used it as my partner and I use the WBBchat app. I opened it once but closed it again, now I was just looking through battery usage and it was far and away the highest use @ 13% of battery,(while not running) FB and the like is 8%, I use Youtube mostly on my phone and that wasn't even more.
Add the battery use to the long list of unnecessary permissions and I am very wary of it now, and I own shares in it!! Hopefully they sell all the data to NSA, should pay out ok

Don't worry that's absolutely normal. "Messenger Apps" all run in the background even if they are closed! They connect every n minutes with the server. That's what causing battery usage.
I am using Whatsapp/Skype alot with friends & family and it sometime takes up to 35 % of my battery. If you want to same battery just deinstall it and if you need it reinstall  Wink

Hey guys, Kyle here...

Lets make a push toward getting StartCOIN added to Poloniex - as it belongs on the highest volume altcoin exchange around. Follow the request link below:

https://poloniex.com/coinRequest

The more requests, the higher likelyhood of the coin be considered. I'm unsure if they require a deposit to speed up the process -- if so, we can add a pitch on StartJOIN to get these funds. If we get added here, this will actually shine a lot of light not only on StartCOIN, but the entire ecosystem.

Do yourself a favor, buy start - then request the coin to be added.

Best,

Kyle

Made a request but after submitting the form I just get
a blank webpage without any sending confirmation.

Is this correct?

No, but there is going to be some kind of initial project on startjoin, and the main crowdfunding will be done on BTTF.

Any ETA when this will go live?

So I could mine 22 cents of START per day for 4 cents of electricity. That's quite profitable, but geeze, you'd have to own 1000 video cards and then you probably wouldn't cover your hardware costs before it became obsolete.

The 750ti is to weak to mine, but for a hobby project thats fine Wink

So, I'm not a miner and have yet to try it. It doesn't sound as profitable as just trading the coins. If I were to mine START, though, what equipment is used? Is it even profitable?

You don't need a State-of-the-Art Computer to mine StartCOINS. The Mainboard, RAM and CPU are all relatively unimportant.
The mainboard just needs a PCI-E slot to host your video card (GPU). 4GB of RAM is enough on Windows/Linux. You just need
to run the OS. The CPU speed makes no difference for mining. All of the mining is done by your video card.
The ATI Radeon R9 280X or Geforce video cards are the best option for mining StartCOINS. A general rule is to stick with MSI
or Sapphire video cards and you should be fine. They are not voltage-locked and will save you electricity and keep your GPU
cool if you undervolt them. The triple-fan design is best, but the reference cooling design (single fan) can work also.
You may need to open your pc-case to get them run stable.

To mine StartCOINS on AMD based video cards like the ATI Radeon R9 280X, you need a modified version of CGMiner/SGminer.
That's basically it  Grin

However it doesn't make any sense to mine because of electricity costs.

But you just keep on depositing and keeping START only at non-accessible wallets, exchanges and StartJoin, it is all fine.  Grin

or get some new StartCOIN full nodes up and running  Grin

Not just full-nodes but accessible full-nodes. The number of inaccessible ones is irrelevant.

You are scaremongering. Just have to open TCP-Port 9247 for connecting the outside world to your node . That's it

Chris Ellis is making bitcoin fullnodes nodes live on Youtube after funding them on StartJoin:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqeH6YG0sO4&feature=youtu.be

Edit:

And second part : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZaLDA0zuFA&feature=youtu.be

Bitcoin accessible full-nodes = over 5,000
Startcoin accessible full-nodes = less than 25 and on many occassions less than 10

Get my drift?

Not really

He's talking about a StartCOIN project based on Chris Ellis - Bitcoin Fullnode.
If there is interest I could create a similar project on StartJOIN?

Instead of crying 24/7 you should go over to StartJOIN, create a cool project that makes a difference.
This helps to develop potential that is already there and encourages people to pledge.

And I'm just sittin' here waiting for 100k sats lulz

Need some help. Did anybody create a project on StartJOIN? Just wondering
how long after you submit your project it gets activated?

I have submitted the project today.
It's not online and still pending.
I hope it will be activated soon.
Will keep you posted John

Which project is that Peter?

Finally, we got our project activated  Cheesy

Peter, did you get an answer yet ?

What!? You waited several weeks ? Your joking, got me  Wink

I waited a few weeks,

Then just cancelled  it.

Unfortunately not  Sad It's five days now since I submitted my project to StartJOIN.
I have written several emails to StartJOIN without any reply. There should be at
least a confirmation mail like for example: Dear ..., thank you for submitting
your project ... We will revise it next. This can take up to 1 week please be patient.

This would be the minimum internet standard. In my opinion projects have to be
confirmend or declined within 24h. Again this is minimum internet standard if
you want to do successful business! Implementing this auto reply mail into
StartJOIN is absolutely basic and project creators immediatly know what's
going on. I will keep you guys posted!

I hope Karl Gray will soon make a persicope meeting again. I will address
this issue and would be happy if you would, too (if I can't make it on time)

Wow! This sounds bad  Shocked Will keep you posted Thoth

New website (startjoin.com)? As far as I know they only fixed some bugs.
Karl Gray talked about several updates they wanted to
implement (add altcoins) in the next weeks/month...

What!? You waited several weeks ? Your joking, got me  Wink

No I'm not kidding, We are assured it'd different now  Roll Eyes but I had a concept that went live after 2 weeks then changed to pitch which hadn't shown for a week or so then I got over it and gave up.

I haven't checked did Startjoin use the 16k they raised for new website stuff yet?
