Damn. Really gut wrenching. This days you feel more empathy towards animals than people. They serve without asking why, without doubt, and never succumb to corruption. Shame on us, i guess.

I guess we could at least write Haiku to memorialize them.

Woof. Woof woof woof. Woof.
I am a dog. Not a pig.
Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof.

The worst might be the guy who went to Guilligan's Isle

the explorer tell the outstanding is  87,275,513 HUC?
so confused Smiley

That's not correct.  You can call "gettxoutsetinfo" on the core daemon to get the real amount (excluding coins on the map), which last I checked was around 23M (as expected).

Why does Cryptoid show those coin counts? Does it have to do with gameplay? Is there a reason the progression is not steady?

Re: [ANN] a new coin based on Litecoin - CHNCoin
by

This coin was actively traded on a few major exchanges for a while. Was released fairly, Chinese language thread was posted first.

The only issue is that 64% of the coins are in one wallet. https://chainz.cryptoid.info/cnc/#!rich

There is some possibility the coins are in the hands of a Chinese exchange that is holding the coins for its customers. A coin this old, fair released and branded as Chinacoin would have a lot of potential and whoever has that 64% has millions of dollars once the market turns up.

The last deposit into the largest wallet came March 2018 from the 5th largest wallet https://chainz.cryptoid.info/cnc/address.dws?CLgMmKnwCEq5267GAucXSfxFTueT2UTURF.htm which has gotten 23% of all mined blocks, and 90% of mined blocks more recently.

Whoever has that huge share, if they distribute it well, has a bonanza.

There is another thread for this coin here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=322488.0

VOTE / Why did the fbi filet its cyber bureau?
by
PeterTheGrape
on 25/07/2018, 20:42:25 UTC
A massive cleaning of high level fbi cybercops and spooks in the last week seems to be foreshadowing something.

Both J. Edgar Hoover and Donald Trump were probably very productive assets for the kgb in its day. Trump was supposedly made a colonel in the kgb in 1986.

There have also been recent flaws that would have allowed massive hacks in recent years. Is it possible China or Russia is going to drop the hammer on the fbi to pave the way for a complete rebranding of america's federal cops to the new and improved 'homeland security', also utterly compromised to foreign powers?

Cryptopia is beginning the delisting process on this coin.  Is there currently another exchange so that I can withdraw Bitgem coins from Cryptopia and deposit to?

I'd suggest just pulling your coins out to the wallet and just saving it for later lol

Nova seems to have a market https://novaexchange.com/market/BTC_BTG/ but it is very thin and that exchange has had issues in the past.

Is there any guess as to why Cryptopia delisted btg?

The network seems okay. A lot of small coins have been attacked though. The only small cap coin that has a fairly secure network seems to be myriad https://www.crypto51.app/

eladl11, I don't know if your problem was solved by others through private messages but the address you listed https://www.huntercoin.info/blockExplorer/address/HGP6j8ozXvjuE5KuT6NjRXH6m2xRbMwT1w does not seem to show on the regular explorer so it might not have been sent. You might have to rescan your wallet if you sent it from your own wallet. It isn't clear from your post where the coins originate.

In a few days or more you can also check at cryptoid but it looks like the transaction did not go through.

Are you trying to make money by working on coins? Airdrops? Microtasks? Signature campaigns?

Everybody has lost money on scams and hacks. If you are going to ask for donations you have to have a better story.

Below are some links.

Airdrops are probably the easiest way to make money, I've gotten a few fair ones.

https://airdropalert.com/

There used to be one great site for microtasks that paid well but folded. Soon there should be more sites.

1) Don't ever put all your money in one coin or exchange.

2) Don't ever spend money to join a group for multitasks, airdrops etc. If they aren't free to join they are crooked.

3) Stay away from hyip. Nothing pays several percent a day unless the people behind it are about to buy an air ticket.

Re: [ANN][GAP] Gapcoin - Prime Gap Search - New Math Algo - CPU / GPU - Zero Premine
by
PeterTheGrape
on 25/06/2018, 02:06:53 UTC

Indeed. Gapcoin's value is undoubtedly, backed by Math ...  Cool

We can assert that all prime gap records attained by Gapcoin do add to the value of the entire blockchain.

However, this perceived relationship between proof-of-work and value is somewhat unquantifiable in reality.

In terms of Gapcoin, if we consider 'the block' which currently holds the record for the prime gap of maximum known merit - do said coins at this address hold a value above other coins on the chain? In reality, probably not. Things are only worth what someone is willing to exchange them for at any given time. Moreover, auctioning the private key / wallet for the address also carries 'risk' for the buyer, detracting from value or worth.

If we consider transfer of said coins, in this regard, then the only real claim of additional value is perhaps linked to the origin of the coins. It has been asserted already that Bitcoin's of a known questionable origin (or tainted coins) may carry an (actual or perceived) reduced value over coins produced by new blocks or those with a determined 'clean' origin. This concept was developed in Zcash where "All coins are created equal.", due to the ability to hide the origin of coins via shielded addresses.

TBH most folks considering or using Gapcoin as a currency probably won't really care a jot in this regard, in exactly the same way that most users don't know or don't care about the cryptography which underlies Bitcoin.

You are 100% correct though. Gapcoin has two products! Gapcoin's and Prime Gap records ...

In fact, this blockchain has real Agency - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agency_(philosophy)

...

Cryptocurrency is not a boat.
Your right to Entropy - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entropy_(information_theory) - (your right to be unpredictable) is not a boat ...

... boat, boat, boat, boat, boat, boat, boat, boat, boat, boat, boat, unicorn, boat, boat, boat ...

I understand your point but the real answer is that as long as people are scratching for 'money', rather than commodities, it is hard to redefine 'currency' as a commodity and distinguish between nonproductive currencies like fiat, bitcoin etc and productive currencies like math coins, for most people.

Re: [ANN][ICO] CHIMAERA 🌟True Blockchain Gaming🌟 PRESALE ENDED $2.1 Million Raised

I don't think people who invested in CHIMAERA are worried about the long token sale. After all, this project will reveal its potential only after the launch of the platform.
Do you think the Chimera investors are different from other investors? Everyone wants to earn money and not all investors are ready to wait for their profits for years.

Chimaera is one of the very few coins which, like huc, will offer more than speculative potential. Huc was never promoted, and hasn't gotten far in terms of popularity, but it was the first coin that required human input to mine coins, even if that input was only a game. Chimaera will let people advance that concept on their own, and it has a marketing team afaik. The end game for human input coins will be ai, and there is no question that a lot of people will be experimenting with chimaera. Ai will be the grand leveler that replaces most corporations and determines which groups have power at some point in the future. There has been nothing developed by corporations or governments so far that has the potential of monetized ai. It will create vast amounts of jobs, advance sciences quickly and possibly do other things. Chimaera is probably the best option so far for people watching that area.

Re: [ANN][MZC][SHA-256] MAZACOIN *First Sovereign Currency* ANDROID WALLET AVAIL.!!

G'Day 😎

In Sept.2017 I met the highest of all Western Australian Aboriginees, something like an elder. He showed me documents that he is even above the Queen!
However, he was very interested to be part of Maza as a currency for tribes worldwide. Unfortunately he died by a heart attack this Feb.

Maybe there is some Aussie blokes or sheilas, who will follow up this, and try to find out who the follower of Wadawarra Harrys from Leonora, Western Australia is.

Getting the Aboriginees in the boat   ...    can you imagine ?!

1) Everybody, including mzc holders, wants to make money. I'm not a maza whale but its one of my main coins and I have talked to a lot of Natives in the U.S. about it, and encouraged it, etc.

2) A central question is whether indigenous groups should use somebody else's currency, whether the dollar, bitcoin, mazacoin etc, or their own currency.

3) Using somebody else's currency, i.e., a currency over which the group has little or no influence aside from buying it and using it, is really not a good way to develop an independent tribal economy.

4) The digital economy will allow many currencies and instant exchange between currencies. Should every person have their own currency, billions of currencies? Probably not. Should there be only a few major currencies? Probably not. Things will probably work out so that any cohesive group will have a solid currency which will be short term stable vs similar currencies.

5) Before too long there will be easy decentralized exchanges any person or group can set up to allow the value of any currency to find a natural level vs other currencies.

6) If the purpose is to drive the price of mazacoin or any other specific coin up, but not to benefit tribal groups, then a person could encourage that outsider coin to the group. Whether bitcoin, mazacoin, litecoin or whatever, attracting group 'leaders' to endorse a coin will push it up.

7) Even if several major groups 'accept' a specific coin as 'their' currency, whether it is bitcoin, litecoin, mazacoin etc, those groups are likely to eventually create their own currency to bring economic power and responsibility back where it should be, at the local level. There are very broad 'currencies' that are global, commodities like gold, silver, food etc. Then there are currencies that represent the productive potential of a specific group. It did not benefit people to use guns to force the dollar on them, and it won't benefit people to use the lure of profits to push mazacoin as their 'tribal currency'.

That said, there does need to be a broadly accepted commodity or currency to use as a medium between currencies, like base pairs on an exchange.

The best use to encourage for mazacoin is as a currency held by a group of people who will use the full weight of the currency to help local Native currencies, whether in Australia or the U.S. or wherever. Better to explain digital currencies to tribal elders and encourage them to develop their own local currencies. And hopefully people who hold mazacoin, who are generally supporters of indigenous interests, will at some point take steps to use mzc as a strengthener for real tribal coins.

~Just my opinion~

if you mine it .. it lives!
Not unless there is means of transferring.  I have mined the sh*t out of a coin which, after the main coin forked to POS, now provides no functioning wallet, as there is no connected block source.  So, essentilaly my coin....BLOCKS are stuck in what amounts to a paper wallet.

Re: 🌱[ANN] SOIL | Environmental | Agriculture | Smart Contracts | Sustainable
by
PeterTheGrape
on 18/06/2018, 04:45:06 UTC
hey evryone, this is abvhiael. weRdna wrote me regarding the current discussions in this group, about the need to re-invigorate this project. the reason i left the development process of this project to marty last year was simply that i couldnt afford to put the time into this project with no renumeration and still be able to keep my family together and functioning. we started SOIL in the era that ANY pre-mine by the developers was a sign of greed and the inevitability of collapse and overall scamminess of the project. that was a mistake. the evolution of cryptocurrency development has proven that out, with many projects having hard-coded development funding built into their basic protocols, ensuring that the people responsible for steering the project could afford to maintain their real-world circumstances and still focus on the project at hand.

make no mistake, cryptocurrency development is NOT a 40-hour, 9-to-5 endeavour. im still working within the cryptocurrency industry. when i left SOIL in marty's hands, i went to work for the GAY Money project, because it fit in with my overall philanthropic ideals, the idea i could help IMPROVE lives. i was receiving a wage, in the form of a weekly deposit of that cryptocurrency, and helping build a network and services that would provide utility for that project. unfortunately, the founder of that project expected everything in life to come cheap and free on the account of his minority status, along with a propensity for high drama over everything. i left that project and am currently initiating legal proceedings against the founder and his new development group who are consistently using my intellectual property on their new rebranded project, PROUD Money, despite several written requests for them to stop using my writing to promote something i did not write for.

thus is the state of crytpo.

for the past year ive been building, with little fanfare, my own ETH-contrived blockchain - PUFFScoin, and still work very closely with the emerging smart contract technology. ive spent the last year learning how to build a currency that can survive, with both industry utility and recreational facility. ive gained proficiency in the nuts and bolts of the blockchain, the architecture of the system, and in my typical fashion, adjusted the core protocols of ETH to provide that the transaction fees for PUFFS no longer go to the miners, but to a community-governed (DAO-administered) fund that, through strategic partnerships with operating dispensaries, will cover the cost of medicinal cannabis to veterans and first responders undergoing cannabis therapy to treat PTSD derived from their employment. we are building dApps to provide decentralized supply chain management systems, and have ancillary services such as our own social network, BONGgoggles. our storefront, which will have crypto integration, is being moved to its own domain this week. i am also working on our 420-friendly dating site and by mid summer will also have a cannabis related vacation rental site (420bnb). we publicly launch the coin on july 1, having a running ICO to raise funds to set up the project hitting the ground running. signal to noise in todays environment, and the number of fraudulent "marketing" groups have made that difficult, but regardless, we've taken the time to build a strong project and yes, we have developers reserves set up to ensure that when the project is on the market, providing access to the applications we are building, and integrated into our storefront/dispensary and other services, that we can focus on our time on the project and not have to seek secondary employment.

one of our plans is to offer a white label exchange solution, which would be cryptocannabis centric, but also maintain support for projects that have a strong philanthropic or universalist reason. GridCoin or Curecoin for example. the inclusion of SOIL, as a base trading pair, has always been the plan.

id love to get reinvolved with the development of SOIL, theres too much potential in using the EVM for scientific computing processes that will help improve our world, and something like this project NEEDS to exist, to provide a platform for developers to adapt existing smart contract suites to help solve the environmental issues facing this world, especially in the light of the present political climate. so heres the deal... every project needs a strong development group. im willing to come back on board a steering committee, but there has to be community backing, to provide those developing the project full time with the funds to devote the time necessary to the project. building this sort of project is 80 hours a week when one is being lazy about it.

hell, i have the SOILcoin logo tattooed on my body, and am still very proud of what the project was built to accomplish, and sure to my predicition, we approach ive years from launch and the technology needed to provide decentralized science is now evident. others are coming around to what we foresaw years ago, the possibilities of the EVM.... beyond CryptoKitties that is. i can still see where this project needs to go, and the potentiality of the system to provide meaningful utility. but i dont have the sort of computational resources to be competitive mining SOIL, and i cant work for free.

theres a big difference between working on something you love for the love of it, but one cannot devote every daily hour to it and still afford to put food on the table. thats my predicament. if anyone has ideas on how to build a development fund, something that pays out through a DAO for work actually done, then lets get it done.

in the meantime, we might also discuss folding SOIL into PUFFS, which is further along the technology tree with ETH. that process could be automated in much the same way we are planning on using a smart contract proof of burn process alongside a ETH-PUFFS relay to convert the ICO PuffToken running on the ETH chain into mainchain PUFFScoins following public launch. i can also offer my current ISP hosting platform where we are running BONGgoggles on and moving our storefont on to in order to host a new SOILcoin website. ive actually gotten pretty good at web development over the last year while building PUFFS.

if you want to have a look at PUFFSCOIN, our [ANN] here, which is buried under the noise of every other ill-thought-out get rich quick token out there, is at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3321887
our main project website is located at www.puffscoin.com/main/ and the ICO can be interacted with at www.puffscoin.com
the main site has a listing (and virtual whitepapers) for many of the projects we are working on presently on our testnet under the dApps header. we also have a cannabis-news blog running there called the reefer*review. (actually working on integrating the RSS feeds for cannabis related stories to ensure a consistent offering alongside my editorials)
our social network, launched to protest mainstream social media's censorship practices, is at https://www.bongggoggles.ca and our storefront will be live this week at https://www.leafycauldronapothecary.com

this sort of approach can be taken with SOIL, adding service and utility to promote the project, which can be compartmentally decentralized as that technology asserts itself.
i can still be reached at abvhiael@live.ca but check my project email (abvhiael@puffscoin.com) far more often during the day. im willing to help reinvigorate this project, if theres community involvement to help promote its development.

Agree it is necessary still for a dev to make money from their work, donations aren't a reliable source.

Soil still has a lot of supporters even among us who don't understand all the technical stuff.

A white label exchange that had base pairs of gridcoin, soil and similar useful algorithm coins would be nytimes material. It would also do a lot generally to improve the image of crypto in the mainstream.

OK. Back to basics then, anyone?

"... What is Gapcoin’s value backed by?

Gapcoin is valued for the things it can be exchanged to, just like all the traditional paper currencies are.

When the first user publicly announces that he will make a pizza for anyone who gives him enough Gapcoins, ...

I'll offer my hillbilly philosophical view on that.

Fiat has, as one of its main purposes, the managing of scarcity, trying to channel resources in a way that herds desperate people scratching for more resources.

Bitcoin has some improvements over fiat but does not actually produce anything, so even if its users are more progressive it still falls back to the fiat goal of managing scarcity.

Gapcoin and the other math and science coins though do actually produce a commodity through their use.

So even if it isn't apparent yet, coins like gapcoin will eventually be backed by the value of what they produce.

All that is left is for people to accurately value what coins produce, and then evaluate how what gapcoin, for example, produces compares to what a pizzeria or other group produces.
