Bitcoin is not so popular as you think, it is history. Firstly due to the transfer fee and transfer time altcoins are much more popular, and secondly - not so many people using crypto and also BTC transfers. For example, Tether USDT altcoin transfers needs some minutes, and fee is very low.
Pirated software can be harmful, there are a lot of various viruses & malware, especially from torrent sites. Nowadays there are a lot of free software, so you do not have the need for paid ones, even for work.

Some products you can buy after expiration date, like bread, cookies, coffee, tea for example, but not milk, meat etc. But shops are looking for this, so in practise you can not find the products in shops after expiration dates. In Europe and in some other places too people can buy after expiration dates, because they are educated in buying and some local shops and markets offer this. For example, today I bought cheaper coffee in the local market, which expiration date was in February 2023.

Why would I believe in some research that can be very subjective and paid for by the same company that turns out to be the "best choice" in the end? My approach is to personally test what I want to use, and considering that most such software provides a free period, then I decide what is best for me.
You can not personally test the antivirus software, because you do not have let's say 100 various malware/virus samples for testing. There are around 3 major testing companies, which test all most popular antivirus software, and results are similar - so more or less tests are objective.
