Hi everyone,

Is there a cheaper way of swapping these legacy coins to newer ones? My coins were in Exodus - swapping is very expensive there. Please advise..

https://www.biznews.com/global-citizen/2021/04/08/cryptocurrency-exchange-liquidates

South African Cryptocurrency traders have been in the spotlight recently after the collapse of Mirror Trading International. Regulators had a wake-up call and announced plans for a crackdown on cryptocurrencies. The South African Revenue Service also took note and announced that it would audit taxpayers who trade in Bitcoin and other digital currencies. The regulatory squeeze prompted local trading platforms to leave for friendlier climes, shifting their headquarters to Europe. While the industry shifts, it seems another local trader has come up short. ICE3x is one of the county’s longest-running exchanges and was the first to offer local traders the Etherium-Rand cross. The exchange has announced that it will not reopen after having suspended withdrawals of Bitcoin and Litecoin last month. First published on MyBroadband. – Melani Nathan

One of South Africa’s oldest cryptocurrency exchanges shuts down
By Jan Vermeulen

ICE3x, a South African cryptocurrency exchange that has operated since 2013, has announced that it is liquidating the business.

ICE3x was one of South Africa’s oldest cryptocurrency exchanges and was the first to offer an Ethereum-Rand trading pair. The exchange, however, didn’t attract the trading volumes of rival platform Luno. Luno has also been around since 2013, though it launched as BitX and rebranded to Luno in 2017.

The shutdown of ICE3x comes after it reported that it did not have enough bitcoin and litecoin to cover the amount deposited by users. ICE3x suspended bitcoin and litecoin withdrawals, together with deposits and trading, on 16 March 2021 while it investigated discrepancies in the bitcoin and litecoin balances held on the platform.

“After consultation and deliberation with our partner Merkeleon.com and their subsidiary Coinspaid.com, we have not been able to reach a satisfactory conclusion [to the investigation],” ICE3x stated at the time.

On 18 March, ICE3x reported its preliminary findings.

“We have now collated all the data received to audit bitcoin and litecoin transactions – deposits, withdrawals & trades – with which we do not agree,” it stated. “Our preliminary findings indicate that we have a shortage for both bitcoin and litecoin and we are reviewing the trading, deposits and withdrawals history as well as cold and hot wallet transaction reports.”

ICE3x said that the process took longer than expected and that they brought in additional accounting resources to help with the task. While bitcoin and litecoin withdrawals were suspended, all other withdrawals were still being processed, ICE3x said.

Last night, ICE3x announced that its trading platform would not be reopened. “We currently have no withdrawal requests pending for any currencies other than BTC and LTC,” it stated. On 31 March, it reported 31 pending withdrawal requests. ICE3x provided a help desk email address on a status page. It asked clients to be conscious that staff are operating under extreme pressure at the moment and can only provide assistance as directed.

“We understand your frustration but please be respectful when communicating with service desk staff,” the company asked. “Please do not create multiple tickets or make use of multiple channels to make contact as this only increases the workload and amount of tickets the team needs to go through, which delays the operations significantly.”

ICE3x said it will provide further details in due course.

MyBroadband contacted ICE3x founder and director Gareth Grobler for comment, but he did not respond by the time of publication.

Bitcoin....

Has anyone else listened to the interview. He mentioned bitcoin at 27:29 and 37:25. How great is that?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxwfDlhJIpw&t=712s

and why the hell do we have to worry if he spoke or did not speak? bitcoin already has a great popularity and eventually everyone will know about bitcoin so do not need to be surprised when some famous talk about bitcoin, we need that people buy bitcoin, use bitcoin and get interested in technology, we need to fend off the scammers who are messing bitcoin and this kanye west does not seem to me to be very well in psychological terms, I mean it looks like it's in a different world, maybe I'm wrong

Wow, that is a very good news.  It's gonna be superb.

many people already know about bitcoin

I never said anyone needs to worry about anything.. Secondly you are naive if you think bitcoin is popular when less than 5percent of the worlds population knows about it.

Re: Confido - huge undervalued coin
by

Just learned about Confido (CFD). Seems like a coin with huge potential!
On their website, they explain how it works: "Confido works by using smart contracts with a unique shipment tracking feature. When a new transaction is made by a user, Confido will generate a smart contract using a secure smart contract template and the data entered by the user. That smart contract will act as the escrow between buyer and seller. Once the funds have been received by the smart contract the seller is prompted to submit a shipment tracking code to the smart contract (which is all done inside the app). Our smart contract will continuously track the delivery status of the package and will release the funds 24 hours after the package has been delivered. In case of a wrong or faulty product, the buyer can put the transaction on hold."

With a marketcap of only $5,181,120 at time of writing, I am definitely buying up. What about you?

And the scammers ran with your money or were you one of them?

Undervalued?? You must be joking.

Set a low cap on purpose so they can pump it and unload on you. Absolutely genius.

Team looks like a joke, I doubt they'll ever have a real product.

Congratulations, you called it...They ran.

Re: Negative Trust Clarification

My question is what does one need to do to have the trust removed?
Depends on what exactly you did. Roll Eyes

We were asked to asked to participate on various ICO ANN by asking questions or comment or answer others if you know the answer. That's what I did. The unfortunate thing is that this was pitched as a bounty to us. I have only started participated on the forum since Sept 2017. Being new, inexperienced and ignorant I never even considered that what we were doing could not be allowed. I feel that our manager prayed on newbies.

I have tried to go through the forum but i cant find anything substantial.

Trust ratings are not really a matter of the forum (Meta), but rather Reputation section. These get left independently by forum users.

Thank you for that as well i was unaware. It makes sense now that you have mentioned it. Please help me move the trend.

Negative Trust Clarification
by
Phalo
on 20/01/2018, 04:30:07 UTC
So I participated in what I thought was a bounty campaign but turned out to be illegal as per forum rules. I am not going to waste everyones time by trying to justifying this with the "I didnt know" as ignorance is not a good excuse as far as I am concerned. My question is what does one need to do to have the trust removed? Is there a probation period, are trend I can go read to get clarification? I have tried to go through the forum but i cant find anything substantial.

Please help!

Do I should invest some?

I think Lutpin have finally decided and changed the schedule adjustment to 2 weeks per round, so you have to wait him check your application guys and wait for his confirmation and announcement.
That's correct, we are doing bi-weekly rounds as a standard now.
I'm also considering to switch over to a segwit address, however, the current setup for escrows (Electrum) only allows bech32 addresses.
This could cause problems if eg some of you receive campaign payouts to Coinbase (or a similar service), as afaik they still dont credit deposits sent from bech32 addresses.
If we do make the switch, I'll announce it a round before so you can update your addresses if you want to.

I would support switching to segwit addresses. However, I suggest recieve some guidance on how to to that or perhaps direct us to a link that can give us more information, e.g. which wallet to download. It might be simple to most but for some of us, it might be not as simple.

For altcoin bounties find a bounty here Bitcoin Forum > Alternate cryptocurrencies > Marketplace (Altcoins) > Bounties (Altcoins) (Moderator: mprep) >

For bitcoin bounties go to - Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Marketplace > Services

Apply on a few campaigns as your application may not always be accepted. Good luck!

Most airdropped coins don't show on wallets. If your coins are showing on ether scan then they are still there. I used to to retrieve mine via etherdelta... Because it was hacked recently I don't know if that's a smart decisiy now.
