LOL there is no way I would ever copy the code on this page.  I mean really? the page has a red background with red font? From a UI/UX perspective this is a disaster and I hate to break it to you but a casino isn't a new idea... There about a million online casinos and just in the last year there has been about 100 new bitcoin casinos.

But you have said that you are copying his idea on this thread so I would tread lightly if I was you, plus:

Yes, I know someone will get that reference  Grin

I guess you don't really understand what qualifies as copying.  I can say all I want I am going to copy google's idea of a search engine or copy bitcointalk.org and create a bitcoin forum but no matter what if I write all my source code and aren't stealing anything, then there is nothing to sue about.

Once again, do you think all these dice casinos popping up are someones orignal idea? No, they saw a company like just-dice and said oh that's a good idea I want to do that and did it.  There is nothing just-dice can do unless they stole their source code.

Sports Bettors NFL/NCAA Pick Six 18 Week Fun Competition 1BTC Entry Fee
by
Philb
on 24/08/2013, 16:37:47 UTC
Welcome to the 1st annual PICK SIX POOL!

There are weekly prizes and season-end prizes

Here are the rules:

You pick 6 games against the spread for 18 weeks (1st week is only NCAA, weeks 2-18 are NCAA & NFL). You can use any combination you want - examples: 6 NCAA totals, 6 NFL teams, 2 NCAA sides, 4 NFL sides, etc... Week 1 games begin Thursday 8/29. I will accept entries up until 10am Saturday 8/31 6-0 wins you the week. YOU MUST GO 6-0 to win.  If nobody goes 6-0, the prize carries over to the next week (similar to a "Skin" in Golf). There are no tie-breakers, if multiple go 6-0, the prize gets split.

In the case of no entry going 6-0 in the final week of the pool, week 18, then that prize skin is divided among the top 3 records for that skin (counting all weeks of carryover). (example: If no entry has gone 6-0 since week 15 and week 18 is a 3 week carryover skin, then the top 3 records during weeks 16-18 divide that skin with 50% for 1st 30% for 2nd & 20% for 3rd). If an entry goes 6-0 in week 17 and no entry goes 6-0 during week 18, then the week 18 skin will be divided equally amongst all week 18 5-1s.

The Pick deadline is 10am Pacific Sunday (for week 1 is 10am Pacific Saturday). Once a game kicks off, picks for that game will be displayed. All picks will be displayed by the pick deadline each week.

1BTC is the entry fee - this is the breakdown: 75% goes to the weekly skin winners, 5% for admin fees, and 20% for the end of the season winners as seen below:

10% goes to the person with the best record over the full 18 weeks
5% goes to the person with the 2nd best record over the full 18 weeks
3% goes to the person with the 3rd best record over the full 18 weeks
2% is the booby prize - the person with the WORST record over the full 18 weeks (must make all 108 weekly picks)

FOR EXAMPLE:

If we have 100 people sign up the weekly payout will be  4.16BTC (100BTC*.75 = 75BTC/18Weeks = 4.16BTC a week).  Overall best record at the end of the season wins 7.5BTC, 2nd place wins 5BTC, 3rd place wins 3BTC and the worst record receives 2BTC

These numbers will vary depending on how many people enter.  The more people that enter, the more money you can make.

officefootballpool.com is the website I have chosen to run the Pool. I have used it before and it is very easy to use.

Winners will be paid weekly to their wallet and every week there will be a newsletter discussing the weekly results and what not and really, it is a lot of fun.  You get 18 weeks of entertainment for only 1BTC and you get a chance of winning.  It makes watching football that much more fun.

If you are interested, please write "interested" below so I can get a feel for how many people.  Officefootball.com charges a fee to open a pool so I want to see if we can get some people before I spend the money.  Also, if you have any questions or comments, please ask!

THANKS!

Looking to do a live dealer casino (live blackjack and roulette) with an invest feature similar to just-dice.com. Security and making sure the math is correct on withdrawing/depositing is huge.  Let me know if interested.

I'd be willing to fund it/get in contact with licensing the software/all business if a developer could make it happen
I'm a developer (experienced in all things web and web-scraping), who might get free time soon… however I also might end up in an hospital too so you will get better offers Tongue
I have zero knowledge of casino games. However I plan to start a bitcoin business this year, whatever it is.

I'm sure we could also pay the justdice owner for some consultation but really this is the best type of business because if we ever want to dilute our risk, we open the invest feature and who doesn't want to own part of a casino?  I would do a small transaction fee + small commission on winnings and it's a win win situation.

Do any developers want to work with me and create something similar that is legit like just-dice with no bugs or anything?  I would also like to incorporate live dealer blackjack.
Honestly I think it was legit, however it was buggy.
You should at least start with "fake" bitcoins, i.e. testnet.

The casino gets the video and data from http://www.vuetec.com/ ; I wonder how much it costs. And if there is a free demo...

I'd be willing to fund it/get in contact with licensing the software/all business if a developer could make it happen

This doesn't help anyone else but I just withdrew .96 btc and it worked.  I tried on Safari and I hit withdraw then it asked me to open a new account and I put in my wallet address and then it made a new account for me. I cleared cache and history and put in my original link and had 0 balance.  I checked the blockchain and it shows that it's being sent to my account.

actually his idea was from Just-dice.com

Ahh ok. thanks.  Also, can you explain to me how I attempt to withdraw on here? After I divested, my balance is .97 and if I hit withdraw button, nothing happens..Am I doing it right?

Actually it says this, "Select a bet from the table below. All inputs must confirm with 6 confirmations before a withdraw is possible."  What is the right way to attempt to withdraw?

What do you guys think of this? http://buttercoin.com/ Just received investment from Kevin Rose and other big names.  Looks like if you are capable, you will easily be able to start your own marketplace.
So somebody claims to offer a hosted package for running a Bitcoin exchange. That doesn't solve any of the problems on the money side.

You can buy software packages for running a bank. It doesn't make you a bank.

I'd have to assume they have something figured out.  I doubt Google would be investing in them if they didn't.

Currency Marketplace/Escrow Service For Sale
by
Philb
on 12/08/2013, 03:39:09 UTC
I started nestcoin.com with the original idea of doing an escrow service where users can list or buy currencies and the seller would send the coin to me and the buyer would paypal gift me the funds.  That was the plan until I realized even with a gift, buyers could just cancel the transaction on their credit card and I would be out the money.

With all the currencies floating around, this could be a great way to sell crypto for crypto (no $$ involved) where the owner of the site could also act as an escrow service to ensure the trade is made without problems.  I constantly see people posting XXXFTC for XXXBTC and so on so instead of risking getting scammed or wasting time trying to find an escrow who is reliable, this site can be a trusted source to carry out transactions.

The problem is I have no time to continue working on the site as I have started a new job and would love for someone to take it over.  It would be ideal for someone who is a developer (Ruby on Rails) and wants to make some side cash.

Shoot me a message or leave a comment in the thread!

Re: Is there anywhere I can by LTC using Paypal?
by
Philb
on 28/04/2013, 19:36:31 UTC
Seems like a lot of demand using paypal.  I am in the process of creating a marketplace/escrow service to ensure safety and prevent fraud but I am wondering what type of fee and minimum transaction I would need to do to make it worth my time.

Would you be willing to pay 5% fee to be able to buy using paypal?

The fee's won't matter, the main problem with PayPal is is that chargebacks are extremely easy to do. It's hard to take measurements, except to put limits early on or without verification, but that only annoys users and is a lot more trouble. An exchange via PayPal is hard, and it'll all depends if you'll earn more over the chargebacks.

Well the way the service will work is buyer sends funds via gift to the company, seller sends coins to company.  Once both have been received then company sends to both parties. If transaction is not complete in 24hrs, it will be cancelled.  Being that it was sent via gift, I don't think the buyer can do a charge back.

Because it will be a manual process on my end, receiving and sending out I am trying to think of a fee that is reasonable but also worth my time.
