The fact is this bakery had served this lesbian couple many times in the past (it's why this particular shop was chosen though Portland is filled with bakeries). So these bakers had no problem with homosexuality, per se.

The gun used in the recent San Francisco shooting was stolen from it's owner's car. Since there are no federal laws requiring gun owners to safely lock up their guns when not in use, a thief was easily able to steal them.

The gun was then sold in a private sale to Ms. Steinle's murderer. Since there are no universal background check laws, an illegal immigrant with a felony record was able to buy the gun, when he could have easily been stopped by a background check.

One thing is clear. "Sanctuary cities" did not kill Kate Steinle. The USA's insanely loose gun laws did.
