CBN has officially lunched it's domestic card called AFRIGO
by

 WHAT AFRIGO IS ABOUT

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has barred the payment of dollar charges on domestic transactions through its newly launched Nigerian National Domestic Card Scheme, AfriGo.

Domestic transaction fees on all cards would now be paid in naira, except for international transactions.

CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele said AfriGo would help reduce operating costs and charges while preserving foreign exchange.

“Your existing cards are fine. You can continue using them, but given that charges by foreign cards are in dollars, we will no longer pay dollars for the charges on those cards,” Emiefele said

According to him, AfriGo attempts to provide more options for domestic consumers and not discourage international investors from operating in the Nigerian payments space.

He also said it would be less expensive and increase financial inclusion.

What a stupid way to reveal to the whole world your heights of stupidity by buying a piggy bank! LOL Grin Another folly you committed by creating such a topic and expecting merits. I am not sure what made you think doing such a silly thing investing in a piggy bank that gets eaten out. I also feel that you do not keep your house clean as you fiat got eaten by rodents while expecting a fortune in your sleep. It is another classic case of being bitten the hard way and then realizing the reality. Welcome to a decentralized economy the hard way!! Cheesy
I thought this platform does not accept derogatory words. Anyways, your words says a lot about you. Next time choose your words carefully.

Story of my life, 3 years ago, I bought a wooden piggybank for savings. My target was to save for 2 years before I opened it. I started putting money inside, until i realized the wood wasn't good enough so I opened it. lo and behold, termites has invaded  my save and destroyed my money 😔. Fast-forward to now, If I had used that money to invest in bitcoin, with good investment decision the money will be  secured and with increase in bitcoin, my money would yield interest.
Save wisely this new year, I'm starting my savings in piggybitcoin.
What plartformis piggybktcoin, I have it hard any thing of such before because saving every little bits can sometimes lead to you losing your bitcoin as some amount may be considered as a dust transaction especially if you measured the amount you want to save in you fiat currency knowing fully well how worthless some of this currency can be and saving them in small amount in Bitcoin such as it is obtainable with fiat.

So the piggy bank is more favourable to fiat compared to bitcoin, but bitcoin should be taken as a long-term investment since bitcoin is an asset.
there is no word or platform piggybitcoin, it's just a word I coined name from piggybank. You are right, piggybank is more favourable but  btc investment has higher return.

You have to choose whether you'll save it or invest it.

The moment you decide to invest in bitcoin, you are not saving money anymore as that amount could lose its value in the long run. Yes, I'm talking about the possible negative result as investing does not guarantee profit. However, if you are willing to risk, I'm sure you know how to manage that risk and you'll only invest what you can afford to lose.

Thing is, if you are just saving it in your piggy bank, inflation will hit you, but you still have that money when you need it.
you have a valid point. From my story, I prefer investing because investing will give me a higher return even though it will take risk of loss to do so. Normally, I save little cash which is same as investing what I can afford to lose. Both helps to achieve a comfortable financial future.

Re: Procrastination is a dream killer

Sometimes (maybe a lot) not having time to do something, simply looks like procrastination. I have found that both, procrastination and not having time, have often proven to be better. I found that I really didn't need to do lot of things that I put off for whatever reason. And the results were often a lot better than if I had done them.

Cool
you have a valid point here however, not having time to do something is another different thing all together. Procastination is delaying or totally putting off something intentionally. That definitely won't yield a good result.

Don't waste your time. Except if you waste it on Nexus.io.
Nexus is a next-generation
blockchain technology that is
re-building the internet
from the ground up.
You can reserve and use a spot that is changing the world. Join.

Note that this is something different than IPFS, which allows you to place your info on their site, and it can never be taken down. Why not? Because your info is encrypted, and it is stored all over the Internet in pieces. You'd have to shut down all or most of the Internet to take it down.

Most time we do all the above you mentioned but still achieve nothing.
First, you have to be convicted in your heart that you are willing to achieve that new year resolution.

Procrastination is a dream killer
by
Phyna4
on 25/01/2023, 09:48:23 UTC
While I was in school,  I always find excuse to avoid doing school work, I  discovered that I procrastinate a lot which caused me to perform poorly in assignments and exams

I had to help myself to overcome procrastination. I learned  the importance of setting specific and attainable goals for myself,I began to use planner to schedule my time and make sure I hold myself accountable.
With these strategies I was able to do my school work like reading and completing assignments at the right time. My grades improved greatly.

If you are planning to invest, do it now and in the future, you will be glad you did them.

Re: My own way of advising crypto newbies
by
Phyna4
on 24/01/2023, 10:11:29 UTC
Many people advise newbies to invest only what they can afford to lose but I have done this a few times before and as time goes on they get tired, if I ask them why they reply, 'I don't know it's going to take this long, I have come to realize that telling newbies to invest only what they can afford to lose is incomplete because they don't know how long it will take anyway and most aren't prepared for that.

Instead, I tell them to invest the amount they won't be needing for the next 5+ years, this prepares them mentally and physically, and those that are weak will give an answer instantly saying no way.

If one invests in Bitcoin he is not going to lose money anyways, the worst case scenario is holding longer than they prepared for, I am sure that everyone knows that the risk of losing money invested in Bitcoin has gone down a lot, keep buying with FIAT or Stable coin you don't need for the next 5+ years and you will be 🆗.
It's because they haven't gotten a better understanding of how btc works.

Re: [Merit] Help newbies and those who have a little left to the next rank
by
Phyna4
on 23/01/2023, 10:30:21 UTC
I decided to open a topic with the distribution of merit for newbie and for those users who have a little merit left until the next rank. The topic will now be here on an ongoing basis, without expiration dates, I will try to bring it up every day so that it is noticeable to as many users as possible.

I closed the old topic, because there were originally different rules and this caused confusion.

Merit distribution rules:

If you have the following amount of merit on the meter, then you can safely apply:

  • 0
  • 5 - 9
  • 85 - 99
  • 230 - 249
  • 475 - 499
  • 970 - 999

Attention:

All applications that do not have one of the specified values will be deleted so as not to clog this topic, as well as the rest of the offtopic, only posts in essence.

- Do not try to apply using your alts.
- If you have nothing but bounty reports and proof autentification messages, do not apply.
- If you have 0 posts, do not apply.
- Applicants with a negative trust for cheating and farms abusing the bounty are not considered.
- All inappropriate application will be removed. Repeated application will be removed as well.
- Don't spam.
- Don't write me in PM about your application or evaluation of posts.
- Don't have to ask the reason why your application is not approved or when it will be approved.

Submitting an application does not guarantee 100% receipt of the merit.

To participate in the distribution, submit an application in the following format:

Code:
Rank:
Amount of merit:
Profile Link:

And nothing else, I'll look at your posts myself and if I see something useful, I will definitely appreciate it.   Smiley

Good luck  Wink
I'm a newbie with 2 merit, can I apply?

Re: Can I take a loan to invest in bitcoin?
by
Phyna4
on 22/01/2023, 13:38:12 UTC
My advice is the same with your advice. I don't like loans. I don't like borrowing money. I'm not comfortable knowing that I owe somebody a certain amount. But, who knows, if ever a time comes that I will have to borrow money, I might. However, it will never be for the sake of investment. It might be due to emergencies.

But if somebody is to borrow money for the sake of investment, Bitcoin is a better choice especially in the middle of a bear season and if it is for long-term hodling.
If you say so. I'm also very scared of loan.
