 ;)G1620    1 thread=10H/S

Well, good news and bad news.

Good news:  Your GTX is doing fine.

Bad news:  after an evening or three of testing, we can confirm that --algo=scrypt:131072 is required, although we have no idea why.  That should be the parameter for a N-17 coin.  If you use scrypt:65536 (which is what we expected) the miner will hash, but all blocks were rejected.  This was previously reported and is now confirmed.  Alas, that is what I was using with Cudaminer in my previous reports so my 560Ti numbers were double what they should have been.

Our best guess is that there is an additional 63 byte wrapper associated with the scratchpad space, meaning scrypt:65599 might work, if the code accepted that value, which it doesn't...

Oh well, at least it keeps it going at a nice, slow... but steady pace. ;-)

Watching this one, I like the idea of making it wallet only and tough to mine. May add this one soon.

Good choice! :-)

The dev team have already shown they are committed to providing long-term support for their coins and it's a refreshing change to see a coin like this. Reminds me of mining BTC on a CPU back in "the day".

You might want to contact the admins at http://pock.io to get Bela added as a payment currency.

Last time I exchanged emails with them, they said they were going to be adding more coins soon.

Just a heads up :-)

I'm giving the project to someone who really cares.

Those are the last words you'll ever see from me.

It was a great journey with you guys. Thanks and sorry for everything.

( I love AXIS. )

PS: PiOfCube, if you're interested, you can join the current "CallMeAXIS" team.
You seem like a good guy.

PS2: If someone tells you pigs can't fly, prove them wrong.

If you can PM me a point of contact with the team, I'd be able to discuss some things with them and work out the best way to make use of me and so I can find out for sure if the route considered (for Axis) is something I would like to tie myself up to as a long term commitment.

Regards.

I hear this coin needs a developer. i will manage the source code and be the quote-unqoute "Dev" of this coin. I have intermediate level knowledge of C++ as well as beginner to advanced knowledge of many other programming languages. If a dev is needed and you find no better candidates i will take over the role and fork the repo and begin management. just let me know.

Nice offer, but there is a queue in front of you.

However, I am sure there is always room in the "team" for those with skills and knowledge.
This cracks me up who are the team you mentioned they havent introduced your self im staking a usless coin if no one is taking controll Fuddly Duddly and it ls starting to look like Duddly wereis the community do they have a website or reddit no so you tell me who where

Yeah, I used "quotes" as I am getting a little tired of waiting. If nothing happens soon, I'll probably have to step forward (as I said I would much earlier on in this thread) and present what I am willing and able to do. Downside to that, I would not be able to use the coin in several projects I am working on as it would cause a conflict of interest and loyalty. However, I guess that would be better than waiting for... well... whatever else may be done.

Re: [PRE-ANN] [WACG] WACCOIN GOLD **NEW EXCHANGES **UPDATED DAILY**
by

I was going to add a long report about this "company": About how the website is just a generic cookie-cutter template made by a "company" that doesn't even seem to have a site any-more. That domain name was purchased quite recently, so that's an indication that it may have been created solely to promote the coin and not as a real business site.

Also, how there is no real information about the company on that site and how it all just seems to be there to add hype to the coin. No company contact details, images the seem to come from a stock image provider and that's just about it.

I was also going to add some insight on how things don't add up about their plans for the long term development of the coin. Including a planned fork? Why plan to fork the coin if it gains acceptance? Seems very odd.

Also, no real indication of how much pre-mine and the maths used to work out diff/etc. No reason to hide this unless they don't want people to know until it's too late and you're already mining it, while they dump that fat pre-mine into the exchange.

Claims of sponsorship but I couldn't find any official announcement that even mentions sponsorship by "Wacminerals LLC".

Anyway, I was going to do all of that and more but, for some strange reason, I lost the will to live.

I think I will pass by this coin and very quickly.

I may be totally wrong but this looks more like a "Whack Job" than a "Waccoin".

Good luck!

With all due respect this coin is light years away from being used by legitimate businesses and AML regulations are the last thing we need to worry about at this particular moment. Anon if done properly is probably the only thing that can breathe life in Axis quickly and put it back into contention for having a meaningful market cap. As the coin's life cycle progresses and as governments' stance towards anon transactions becomes clearer the coin can always adjust to be in compliance if that is the right thing to do.

AML regulations?

Well, that would be good at some point in the future. Right now, I'm talking about avoiding the issue of putting businesses and exchanges at risk of being seen to willingly make use of a method to launder money.

IMHO... Anon does absolutely nothing to assist in legitimate trade. It's just a tool to hype.

Simply put, if anon comes to Axis, I will not be able to support it or make use of it in my own enterprises.

But, whatever is decided, it should be done as a community.

Regards.

Edit:

Also with due respect, I am a "legitimate business" and know a few others that are watching this coin, solely because of the promises of no anon, no "foundations" and all the rest of that stuff which makes "legitimate businesses" cringe.

If so, I'll add it in the OP.

I haven't looked at it so can't say one way or another.

I'll try to get some time to give it an examination.

well well well. the sleeper has awakened...

i bought some at over 3k thinking i was smart, ha! so is this real or is it not? 0.5 btc is not very relevant volume, impossible to get in or out to any meaningful extent.

Who is in control now, or is it dev fud news for people to get in / out?

crypto is tiring sometimes

I can only talk for myself, but I am very serious about this coin. As long as it doesn't become like so many others... All hype and full of tripe!

I was buying in from the launch and I continue to do so. I might need a bag full to allow me to use them for a project but only if it doesn't go down the same path with anon and all that bad jazz.

Why i cant pull Axis from dedicated pool?

The pool admins probably need to update their wallet but as it no longer PoW, it may not be a high priority for them. Just a guess.

Diff retarget?

Devs said same as litecoin, no KGW

Probably it is time to fire your developer as same retarget as litecoin is really outdated nowadays

Probably a good time for their developer to learn how to generate their own genesis block. LMAO

https://github.com/shirecoin/shirecoin/blob/master/src/main.cpp

Code:
map mapBlockIndex;
uint256 hashGenesisBlock("0x12a765e31ffd4059bada1e25190f6e98c99d9714d334efa41a195a7e7e04bfe2");
uint256 hashGenesisScrypt("0x12a765e31ffd4059bada1e25190f6e98c99d9714d334efa41a195a7e7e04bfe2");
static CBigNum bnProofOfWorkLimit(~uint256(0) >> 20);

It get's a little boring when you see so many "Search and Replace" coins made by "devs" that either do not know how or simply can't be bothered to make their own genesis.

https://github.com/search?o=desc&q=0x12a765e31ffd4059bada1e25190f6e98c99d9714d334efa41a195a7e7e04bfe2&ref=cmdform&s=indexed&type=Code

Of course, ShireCoin is not alone in this regard. LOL

this person that nobody hired anyway is going to get your thread closed by spamming beggar addresses. /.02

Good point LOL

I did not get it, guy is doing something, and it is ok for the community to motivate him, maybe im wrong, please elaborate.

The mods of BitCoinTalk can and will close threads that have too many wallet addresses in posts. It's nothing to do with the people in this thread but what the admins of the site decide.

I found out Axis is based on quite old bitcoin source. To update all the libraries and all bitcoin source changes is possible, but also quite a job.

Another approach would be to take the latest bitcoin source and implement the Axis blockchain into there. This will take a bit more time, but Axiscoin will get lots of bugfixes and new features for free.

I feel a bit more for the second approach myself. Any opinions?

(by the way I have no plans at all for forking the blockchain yet)

axis:
APfUgJgGxaUVebbmTFFhWUMndQrUuDZ5x9

btc:
1PmDDQQzqhD86K69FvMUA8a2NsJp8sEjZ4

Yeah. It is safe to say that any coin released these days that still has IRC code in it, is indeed based on old BTC/LTC code (pre many bug-fixes).

I think you are right to suggest going back to base code and adding Axis into that. In the long-run, it would be more prudent to do that IMHO. That is, if there is going to be any changes done at all.

It is still pretty good code but if there's talk of new features, then getting the basics sorted out and working as reliably as possible first should be priority.

Axis dev, its not too late to turn this coin around. I've been in your position, just throw everything you can into the coin. The more features the better, alts for the most part have a 10-60 day life span. This is a situation where its go big or go home. I'll go buy some more axis just in case Smiley

Maybe this is the reason why so many alts have a short life-span?

Shove as much "stuff" as possible into a coin so it can be hyped to the heavens for short-term profit on the exchanges.

The reason I chose Axis was due to the fact it was not going to be just another "SnR, PnD clone-coin with bloat".

If Axis goes down that road, it will be just another one of those. :-(

Thanks for your feedback  Smiley

I agree with you totally on Anon but like I said from a valid point of view it does seem to be all the rage at the moment and would possibly drive support.

Glad that we sort of agree on the rest of my ideas Wink

Like I said im no coder so have no ideas as to what and wouldn't work but for me just the general discussion around Axis at present is pleasing as people are getting to voice some good ideas and that I like.

PiOfCube apart from the ideas you have suggested do you have anymore? You seem to be well versed in crypto which is only a good thing imo

I wouldn't be able to use Axis as a main coin or promote it to businesses if it had those anon features.

You are right, it does seem to be all the rage but mostly caused by trollbox hypsters using whatever they can to artificially inflate perceived value so they can gain more short-term trading profit (IMHO).

This is even more of an issue when the anonymity function is applied and processed at the exchange. That seriously puts the exchange in jeopardy of being accused and investigated for money laundering. If you read the laws, you will see they purposefully avoid the use of the term cash, money, etc so anything of value can be considered under those laws.

Generally speaking, there are too many "features" being added without real consideration. There are many things that can be done to improve the basic code first so any extra stuff can be built on very solid code.

Just my thoughts.

alrighty I will reconsider ANON. please spam me with some features you do want to see  Cool

as we speak I am updating code to stay more close to the bitcoin source and implement an easier build script for releasing the wallets. I think that would be a good starting point for some new features

Some things I would like to see re-implemented in the code: GUI wallet console, RPC and Linux daemon commands.

addnode "node" "add|remove|onetry"
getbestblockhash
getstakinginfo
getsubsidy [nTarget]

Also return the correct values for "hashing" and "Dif" for PoW/PoS (Yeah, I know PoW is over).

EDIT: Remove all traces of IRC and use DNS seeds instead. (Very important) :-)
