Pretty sure it was TWO pizzas. Only mention it because it reduces the price by half.

I run a small forum with 150 or so dedicated members. The site renewal came up and instead of asking for cash donations I posted my BTC wallet and only accepted BTC.

I received 0.00BTC.

Guys posted complaining that they wanted to give but couldnt figure out how to get BTC. I had posted links to various methods but it was too much of a PITA for anyone to do.

I think that's the barrier...it's too hard to convert your government money into BTC. Too hard and takes too long and costs too much.

Nope. I was going to try that but it updated before I logged out.

You'd think a step would be pooling resources to mine. Like people invest in super computer time and share rewards. Maybe the value of BTC is too low for that now? Don't universities and governments still have super computers?

Never mind...I'm out. Guess its 4 hours and 7 minutes!

I listen to TWiT (This Week in Tech), hosted by Leo Laporte. I heard about BitCoin a few times on the podcast. I looked into it and noticed the price was around $55 USD per coin but it had recently been $254!

Figured I had to look more into this! I now own 1.39 BTC and bought around $75 per. Sure wish I was more ahead of the curve on this. Oh well...
