This weekend, I went over to the petting zoo and gave them our "care package", containing private key, frame with quotes, and explanation on how to use ETH. They were a bit overwhelmed and very grateful.

They'll post about it on their web page, including a picture of happy pigs & picture frame, and I'll share the link with you here so you can verify that your donations did indeed end up at the petting zoo.

I expect to be able to finish up the "gift package" for the petting zoo this weekend, and go out to give it to them in the following week.

Of course I could run over to them right now and give 'em the ETH, but I promised the community I'd also give the animals a compilation of the nice messages you guys sent them, and I intend to keep my word.

Items in gift package (when finished):

• 3D print of the donation address and corresponding private key. Carefully wrapped so as not to inadvertently reveal the private key.
• A sheet of instructions and explanation of what ETH is and what to do with the keys in case they (a) choose to cash out or (b) choose to keep them and see what the future holds (I'll also offer to go through the motions of cashing out for them, if they want me to)
• A picture frame containing a brief explanation of the project and its results, as well as a selection of your messages to the animals, so visitors can read about cryptos and about how strangers on the internet donated to their favorite piggies

I'm currently printing them one of these (they work with any string, not just BTC addresses ), and will present it with the offer to help them cash it out at a time of their choosing.

I'll also explain that it's very possible to cash out just a part of it, should they have an urgent need of cash at some point, and to leave the rest in ETH to grow.

Regarding exchange listings, game plans, and profitability: please (care)fully read the OP before making things more complicated than they have to be. I know that it's nice when you get something for free and it turns out to be valuable, but like I said at the very beginning, this is a charitable project first, and potentially profitable second. The game plan is to be charitable - it wouldn't make much sense to spend considerable funds on getting listed on exchanges given the limited amount of funds raised by this project. And yes, as stated earlier, the symbol PIGGY was an unfortunate coincidence, but this is not something that gets in the way of our ultimate goal.

So think of the bigger picture. Even if Piggies turn out to not be worth very much as a cryptocurrency, at the end of this month, when I've presented the petting zoo with the results of this project (ETH, altcoins, and messages), the following things will still keep their value:

• People that have never met me or each other came together online and raised ~$400 worth of ETH to help support a local petting zoo.
• Between 6000 and 7000 addresses were airdropped Piggies to their wallets, and hopefully a smile airdropped to their face.
• Hopefully, the same 6000-7000 people (although, I'm pretty sure there are some duplicates in there...) were encouraged to think about petting zoos (maybe even learned what they are), animals, and charity - and how this fits into their lives.
• Hundreds of participants left a message for the pigs on the airdrop form, which, of course, will be shared with them.
• The community will also get an article out of it (currently writing...), so everyone can learn from and be enjoyed by the things I learned about human nature and the crypto community over the course of this project.

Quick update: I just closed the airdrop form.
Today, the final airdrop round will be performed; then, 50% of the remaining coins will be distributed to paying contributors (feel free to still make a contribution; it will still count ).

I noticed that the contribution address also received some ERC20 tokens, and since this is a charitable project, I figured we might make the best of that.

So, to spice things up at the end of November, besides contributions in ETH, contributions in other ERC20 tokens will also be rewarded with Piggies.

Think about it. They may have been airdropped to you once, but seem worthless in the quantities you hold. But combined, they may be worth something when sold for charity.

How many Piggies will I receive in return for ?

• If the token you send is listed on Coinmarketcap or EtherDelta, your contribution will be treated as though it were an equivalent amount of ETH.
• If the token you send is not listed on CMC or ED, your contribution will be valued at 0.001 ETH, thus you'll receive 188000 (=0.001 x 20M + 168000) piggies. Limit 1 donation per token/address to reduce spamming opportunities - we reserve the right to withhold piggies from those abusing this offer. Sadly, I found this out the hard way over the course of this project.

As stated in the OP, after November 30th, all unsold tokens will be split 50-50 between paying contributors (proportionally to their contribution) and the petting zoo. Think of it as a bonus for contributing (which, at the current rate, amounts to a lot of Piggies!!).

Official and larger update, for the final week of November, coming tomorrow or the day after - stay tuned!

As to the main idea of the token, it's to be charitable, and potentially profitable.
The secondary objective is to make people smile. Or frown. Or just think.
On both counts, so far, I think we're not doing too bad

Some more short updates from the Piggies front:

• The airdrop is still active and, as promised, open until the airdroppable coins run out.
• The airdrop form now features a check whether the entered Ethereum address is the same as what's in the Bitcointalk location. Fortunately, this seems to be keeping the spammers at bay for now. If you can't seem to get it to work, feel free to reach out and I'll be happy to give some pointers.
• Next step is to properly register the token with EtherDelta.
• The project got some free airtime at my workplace, which may help feed some buzz around this project. After all, we all know piggies love attention.
• MaryAngela_Fantocci (and others), if you have questions about me personally, please don't hesitate to send me a direct message. As stated earlier, since my kid goes to this particular petting zoo, I try to keep this kind of stuff off the general, eternal internet.

Indeed, if it shows up in an Ethereum-based wallet, it's this Piggies (i.e. an ERC20 token), not the Piggycoin from CMC.
By the way, I have great respect for the work done by the (other) Piggycoin team, now that I'm aware of them. It seems that they weren't too commercially successful, but they've put in quite some effort to make blockchain an attractive concept for kids. I hope a similar concept takes off one day.


Please set your location to match your Ethereum address in your profile. Currently, you've used "Other contact information", which isn't recognized by the airdrop form.

You have to set the "location" in your BCT profile to your ETH address. Then it will work

Alright, the airdrop is back on for everyone!

To participate, you need to do the following:

• Enter your ETH address as your location in your BCT profile
• Enter the same ETH address in the airdrop form
• Enter your BCT user ID (not your username! The NUMBER that comes after

when you view your own user profile!) on the airdrop form (bottom field)

Let's hope this keeps the awful spam at bay for a bit. Note that duplicate registrations are not allowed. It costs ETH to send the airdrop, money that can't go to the pigs and goats. Therefore: one airdrop each! Let's all play nice.

This has been pointed out, and it's a mistake on my part. I apologize. There is indeed another project that claimed PIGGY as its symbol a long time ago. Actually, it looks quite nice too.
So let's make a couple of things clear here:

• We're not the same project. This was a coincidence that I should have prevented.
• The only listing we have at the moment is on EtherDelta (working on making that one more official).
• EtherDelta uses Piggies as our symbol anyway.
• I will update the OP and website to call our token Piggies. Hopefully this will avoid confusion in the short term.

Valid point. And the short answer is, I'm not sure of anything. Like the concept of cryptocurrencies itself, this project is an experiment.
To illustrate how this came to be, questions I asked myself before starting included the following:
Would I raise more money in some other way? Maybe. But all these options aren't mutually exclusive.
Does the project need a longer, more intricate roadmap? Well, I could make one up if I wanted to go for a quick profit, like so many other airdropped coins do... but like almost all of these other coins I'd just fail to deliver on my 2020 goals and you'd all know it from the start... Instead I chose to be honest here, and set a small goal, upon which we can build if this becomes a greater success than anticipated.
Would I learn as much if I went non-crypto? Doubtful. Would I have as much fun, or make as many people stop and think? Even more doubtful.

Really, it's been a wonderful ride so far reading all the wonderful messages complete strangers on the internet send to my favorite petting zoo animals. I'll post a selection here soon! (but first, my day job calls...)

The petting zoo has three ways to benefit from Piggies-tokens:

• Directly, from contributions made in exchange for tokens (a.k.a. token sale)
• Indirectly, because 50% of unsold tokens plus 60M tokens go to the zoo (they can sell them for eth, if they're in enough demand)
• Indirectly, because having many token holders/traders (e.g. by having an airdrop) helps raise awareness for the options above

In addition to the above, the simple fact that people read about Piggies and think about the fate of animals or local petting zoos, even if they choose not to participate in the airdrop or token sale, will be a nice benefit of this project. I'll post some of the lovely message I've received via the airdrop form at a later point in time

For everyone who has registered but hasn't received any Piggies yet:

• Please be patient. The airdrop is underway.
• Participants who contribute 0.001 Ether or more receive their airdrop share ahead of others, and they receive the full 168 KiloPiggies early bird share.
