@Jayspikes & @nipponkorea:

this sounds if you were using the windows 1.0.0.2 wallet and this broke down your chain.

Please make sure you are using the wallets from www.piecoin.net

But if your blockchain is broken you have to delete it and download again.
This depends on your system.
If help on this is needed I can give it tomorrow.
Just let me know.

I'm running piecoin.tech wallet so do i just transfer the wallet.dat file over to the new or transfer to exchange and back to the new wallet(piecoin.info)?
If you are running a piecoin.tech wallet and you have connections and you are synchronized with the blockchain there is no instant need to do anything for now.

But if you want to update your wallet (this has be to be done by many users in the future when new features are implemented) you just need to replace the wallet executable (don't know your system). If the executable has been replaced/updated it should be possible to read your current wallet.dat file. But please make sure that you do a BACKUP of your wallet.dat before doing the update.

Hello everybody at this great Pie community,

after being absent for a while and read all the posts here, now I would like to tell you all what I found out:

There were problems with people getting connections with a fresh wallet a lot of times in the last two weeks. It seems that in most cases they got a connection eventually.
But having no connection for one or two days is really painful and should not happen.

I think I found out the reason for this problem:

At first:
The actual wallets at first try to connect to six 'hardcoded' IPs to get a connection to the PIE network and download the blockchain.
These IPs have been hardcoded by me for all the actual wallets at piecoin.info or piecoin.net some time ago. Please do NOT use wallets from piecoin.tech!

Now the problem:
PieCoin wallet has a hardcoded limit of 125 connections which I found out today...
I am running two 'masternodes' (in the meaning of static, reliable nodes) and I saw that they both were at 125 connections.

That means that all of this six static servers are about to have had 125 connections the last two weeks. And it explains the problems which many people had.
They simply got no connection because all of the static servers were full!

And the (quick) solution:
I did a restart of my static PieCoin Linux server wallets with the option -maxconnections=200

Now there are 191 connections and it's going to be tight again soon.
I'll soon restart with 300. We have a really great network

The mid term solution:
The code has to be changed a bit and new wallets have to be made.
I will try to do that as a mid-term solution, wallet 1.0.0.4 will be the version.
And this time the version number of the wallet in the net will fit the name of the file/app.
(Sorry about 1.0.0.3 still complaining to be 1.0.0.2 - I know this leads to confusion but could not find a way these days back to alter the version number)

Long term: we will see what comes with the masternode update in the future. The connectivity for new users has to be always possible!

Ok, there is so much going on about PIE, I just can't believe it.
But I am concentrating on building new, stable wallets - before some masternode update will come.

Hi everybody,

I would like to tell you that I finally did a new windows wallet,
This wallet should sync without any problems and should remove any problems of the 1.0.0.2 build.

I uploaded it at PieCoin site here:

http://piecoin.net/download/PieCoin-qt-win32-v1.0.0.3.zip

And at the repository there is a new entry here:

ok, im explain again here..
the reason is about wallet...crytopia will delist when masternode wallet swap..
so i dont want to waste donation money to pay cryptopia adding fee.
hope all comunnity can accept my reason..
thank you..

#one step closer
#everyday we moving foward

That makes sense. But if it's not a fork, cryptopia wouldn't delist PIE for having a "new" wallet that adds a feature, as far as I'm aware they only delist a coin (even if it's the same coin in essence) if it hard forks. Or are you saying PIE is going to fork sometime in the near future?

yes.. my king..  Wink
hey all, I am in contact with alangmotor every day now and because I think he's sleeping now I just want to tell you all that a hard fork is NOT the plan of the near future. We want to keep PieCoin straight and the Masternodes can be implemented as a soft-fork when they are ready.
I think his answer was a misunderstanding...
And I am sure he will let you know tomorrow.

Btw, after syncing can I mine piecoin? How do I mine it? Thank you very much for the reply! I really really appreciate it! Smiley
Keep your wallet open, unlock it and it will start mining.
And you need some PIEs in your wallet. With a balance of zero you will never get any income.
When you have PIEs at your wallet you can hover the mouse over the green arrow at the bottom left and it will tell you how long you have to wait approximately until a payout occurs.

Hey all together, it is so great to see the PIE going up and up. That's really cool, a lot of thanks to all the contributors!
I will hold all my PIEs because it's such a great community now and I think the way goes up for this coin now.

cu Pikku

Pikku, are you back as the main developer of PieCoin or just an advisor of some sort?
I am back as a main supporter of PieCoin. I have some dev skills but I never wanted to be the main developer.
I am running two PieCoin nodes with static IP's, I am running piecoin.net and am willing to help with compiling new wallets and so on.

But the success of this coin is based upon a community, not a single leader or main dev...
...and this is what makes me happy for now.
As long as we can go as a community, I will give my best to support it. Not more and not less.

I can't get the Mac wallet (got link off the website) to sync with the blockchain. Is there an issue with it? Anyone been able to get it workin

Update:  I just realized I got the wallet from the "old" website.  I will see if the one from the new website works.
Update 2: The Mac wallet from the new website syncs OK.  I hadn't realized there were 2 websites until now.

Cool that you have the wallet up and running synced.
It's right: the new website piecoin.net has syncing wallets with the actual reliable server nodes.

With one exception: the windows wallet unfortunately does not sync for now because I have to compile a new version.
I am still working at it...
Windows users can find a little explanation on what to do to get synched at the bottom of piecoin.net

I sold a portion of my PIE as I need the money elsewhere and the holders of large accounts are not active.

We need to get them on board.

I will post the escrow today or tomorrow for development of PIE.

I took a big loss.

I am prepared to write the rest off if big PIE holders are not interested in developing PIE

It's very sad for me to read posts like that.
Me still having a bad conscience because I was absent for weeks, now to read that is very sad,
because I fear that the trigger for this action was me Sad

I have a wallet running with about 6.500.000 Pies - anyone can see this in the blockchain explorer at the top 100 list.
My address ends with METB for all of you to know who I am.

Today I had to take off my wallet from the net - as every Friday the whole last weeks. I have to do that because of working issues.
It's sad to see that taking off my wallet for a day lead to this...

Looking at the network I am not sure if a was the only one today to take it off - seems to be more people left the network.
Don't know what's going on - I am back in the net with my 6.563.762 PIEs...

Seems to be a very sad day for PIE - I hope we can go back to a happy community quickly.
But one thing is for sure: the further development of such a great coin cannot be done in days or weeks!
We should breath in and breath out and look what we can do to bring this coin somewhere (behind the point of dumpers etc.).

And we all have to realize that every new (big) step is conducted with a lot of work.
So I would suggest to this community to get slower, we have still have to discuss some things (planned 84M cap and so on).
There has been much announced - but from my experience I would say that the big steps are far away - and that's just realistic!
I think PieCoin has a chance if we go little step by little step. Just my opinion.

And: even if have a lot of PIEs - I don't sell them!!! Why should I do - it's the best AltCoin I ever met.
Just run the Wallet, put some PIEs on it and go on staking!!!
That's what the most people attracted to PieCoin, I think...

Ok, we see where we go - I am still happy to help where I can - for now especially what the piecoin.net is concerned.

Have to sleep now, cu all, cheers Pikku

Hello everybody,

now that I have read all the posts here and all the messages in the WhatsApp group, I would like to tell you my opinion about a few aspects of the ongoing development of PieCoin and all what I have read so far:

I just realized that @AltcoinPortfolio has done a lot of work and has taken over a kind of a leadership here.
I am glad about that because I am not able to fulfill such a role. In an earlier post (maybe in the old thread) I wrote that PieCoin does not need a leader, it is the community keeping it strong. Now I see that I was just weak and the combination of a great community and a guy who cares for it regularly is obviously the best!

There was so much to read for me the last 3 hours here and at the WhatsApp group...
So many suggestions, so many actions, so much support...

And I realized that this community is very special - helping each other and just communicate about what would be good to do and how to reach it.
This is a great community and it is so good to see this all after being absent for a few weeks.
If you compare this thread with the XBY thread for example you will see the difference.

I am really sorry for being away for such a long time and I realized that some updates to piecoin.net would be cool.
At least the link to this forum thread should be updated, I will do it tomorrow.

And now, for to make it short (have to sleep soon) my short opinion about the roadmap:

- Android Wallet: would be great and should have a preference (but it's not easy as I saw the prices at the WhatsApp group)
- Web Wallet: would be cool (same as above)
- Social Sending: in my opinion is a dream which we can follow - but if you tell a dev: 'please implement social sending for facebook etc.' I am quite sure that the most of them don't even have a plan of what has to be done to realize that.

- Masternodes: I am not sure if all of you talking about the same thing. I just read about it, found out that Dash and XBY are using Masternodes but it's very complicated. This guide explains how to run a Masternode for the Dash Coin:

https://dashpay.atlassian.net/wiki/display/DOC/TAO%27S+SETUP+GUIDE+FOR+DUMMIES+12.1

Please take a look at that - I don't think normal users will ever set up a master node.
So please let's focus at Android and Web Wallet.

I will give a more detailed explanation of the Masternode concept at the coming weekend.

So what I am doing now:
I will keep trying to compile the Windows Wallet with actual server nodes (still sucks).
At the Mac Wallet there have been problems - I will look at that.
I will update the code at the repository with the actual server nodes.
Keeping two static server nodes running.
Never selling any PIEs - still holding my! Never sold in the last weeks.

It is late for me now, I would like to thank you all for building up this great community and having so much patience and love!!!

All said for today, cu Pikku

We will need a whale on this, frankly speaking we will need a very good investor here to make this coin succeed.

P/S: still hodl and trust this coin Cheesy

You are probably right. At least there is a lunch for the whale though. They could purchase 10% of PIE for 7 BTC on the open market right now and then earn a large portion of all transaction revenue with further investment.
Piecoin address for donation. Is Pikku still with this project.

Pikku is no longer active.

The masternode payment needs to be done in BTC. I will set up an escrow once I receive the quote from the programmer.

If you want to donate to my work the PIE address is: PApHqtQmeH9gm7MYoWT6dhovcVGSPcscFF

Hello together, I just wanted to tell you that I am back again. Just made a donation to the address above for the great work of AltcoinPortfolio.

I am so sorry for not being here for so long... and I have a very bad conscious about that, really!
This had nothing to do with PieCoin, there were some private problems which kept me away from the net for some weeks.

But now it is so great to see what a cool, lovely community has grown, with people investing so much time and power (and maybe some btc) for making PIEs successful.

After reading all the posts I will give you an overview of what I think about all the actions and suggestions of the last few weeks and what I maybe can still do.

I'll be back in 1-2 hours, greets to all, Pikku

Piecoin Reboot

Piecoin.net:
New site for Piecoin, done by Pikku, could improve allot, to make less techy and more user friendly like original site. Add roadmap etc.

Bitcointalk PieCoin:
We could start a new thread for Piecoin..
Present our new Roadmap, new domain, exchanges etc. Plus what has happened with the dev and the burned coins

Social Media - Coinmarketcap :
We have to make a new Twitter account and update the link on Coinmarketcap + update the domain on Coinmarketcap to the new one.

Yobit + other exchanges:
Add Piecoin to new exchanges!

Development:
We need someone to develop an Android Wallet and Social Sending. We can add bounties on the roadmap for development

So to conclude I think we need to take control of Piecoin. The first step is our new domain Piecoin.net , i think we need to start a new bitcoin thread with our roadmap and webpage on the start of the thread. also we need to take control over the coinmarketcap profile of Piecoin and change the domain and twitter account...

@takamouri: You are so right with all you mentioned.
> Piecoin.net:
> New site for Piecoin, done by Pikku, could improve allot, to make less techy and more user friendly like original site. Add roadmap etc.
I totally agree with that! A site like the original site (but maybe somewhat less kidding) would be cool. I think, technically this could be done using 'twitter bootstrap'.
Maybe someone of this community likes to build up a new page using bootstrap templates (just google). A finished page could be easily set up at piecoin.net

Ok, now I am done Wink

Hey all,

this post is referred to some of the suggestions and questions of takamouri - I didn't quote too make this post not too long.

Ok, @takamouri, you wrote:

> I think it was a great idea to get a new domain that we can have the control of..
Yes, I think so, too Smiley

> I really like the idea behind Piecoin and social sending and i'm very interested to help grow the community build a new road-map and further develop the coin..
That sounds great!

> From my experience PieCoin is a very easy to use AltCoin that can be send quickly and is Great at staking on an average laptop.
That is what got me into it - a really easy Coin to have at an average computer.

> Apart from that, I don't know if the Pies code offers any aspects other than sending wallet to wallet and staking on a Laptop or POS..
I am not sure but I don't think that the code offers more aspects.

> So to conclude, I think we should decide if we will follow the steps that the original scammer developer posted as a road-map, or are we gonna set up a new plan..
Setting up a new plan is a good idea - the original road-map was too fast.
But I would be careful with road-maps because they can lead to disappointments when a dead line is broken.

> What will happen with the coins the original dev the scammer still holds??
I am not sure if the scammer still holds coins. As far as I remember he sold out a few months ago not long after the ICO at C-Cex.
That was a hard day for me but I am still holding and helping.
I think this thread has a bit of information of all the things that were going on.
But cannot read the whole 30 pages from beginning again to give a hint where to find more information, too tired now.

> Good question for the masternode!!!
Ok, I have to blame myself talking about masternodes. What I mean are just wallets or the Linux 'Piecoind' that are running at a computer having a static IP-address.
These computers are nodes in the network like any other wallet computer and their code is the same.
The only thing about a 'stable-node' or 'static-node' or 'server-node' or maybe wrongly 'master-node' is the static non-changing ip-address and the port 31415 open for incoming connections. Such a computer's IP-address can be baked/compiled into the wallet's source code for giving good connections to new users.
I am running two of such computers/servers now. And btw: there is now income for doing that.
To have some income of PIEs you have to run your own wallet and own some of them.

> Also Pikku can we fork Pie and use the devs coins for dev bounties.. even delete the burned address if we can fork.. and have a supply of 72mil..
To make it short: A good coin network is not so easy to influence. It is just running! You can never use any coins of other people (if you do not hack their wallet).
A fork is not an easy thing. There are soft-forks and there are hard-forks.
But it is all very complicated and never something like: ok, we go somewhere else and leave you scammer alone, cu.
I mean: doing a fork has to do with really a lot of work (which I could not afford)! I could tell more about this sometime, but wanted to make it short:
I don't think that any kind of a fork would be helpful for PieCoin now - maybe later...
btw: the fact that I did fork the source code of PIE at Github.com has nothing to do with a coin fork. I just saved the code to a place where we can work on.

thanks for all this great discussion,

cu Pikku

Hello, there we go,

I will try to answer/comment some actual posts here.

I have just joined the WhatsApp group and met some great people.
But I have to say that I would like to have this forum thread as a communication platform
for all people loving PIEs until we maybe have a new web platform.
Not everybody is at WhatsApp - and me now only for the Pie Community!

At this point I can assure that this thread cannot easily be deleted here.
The starter of a thread has no ability to delete it. He would have to ask the admin!

Ok, to answer some questions:

@takamouri:

thanks for your cool post and the detailed questions - I think this should be worth an own re-post which I will do tomorrow.
Sorry, late in Germany now, here's 3:00 a.m.
You wrote: Pie @ 1000 satoshi in 1 month - that would be really cool, we should all work on that!

@alangmotor:

ok, I am in the WhatsApp group now, what is cool. Seems to be a great group!
I think you have been the one whom I told there that I prefer to have communication to all people loving PIEs within a forum thread like this.
WhatsApp is cool for internal discussing but not the way to build a really big internet community, at least I think so.

Concerning the great leader: I can try to give my best to lead you to the right way building up a coin with a future.
This really would be a great honor for me. But this lovely community needs no 'great leader' -
what we need is a little bit of help from everyone being in the PieCoin community!

@tarolog
You wrote: I see - many want to see PIE on yobit ... Need 0.1 BTC..  But before need any roadmap ... Masternodes, maybe.

I think you are right! We have to build this up from below.
4 Masternodes are running as far as I think. If you are running a wallet having port 31415 open, you can have about 20 connections in a few minutes.
But more Masternodes would be very helpful. For all who are interested running some Masternode at an own Linux Server I have uploaded an
Ubuntu version of Piecoind at the new Website:

piecoin.net

Ok, thank you all so much for your support and building up a great community,

cheers Pikku
