how's the XBC team doing these days? it looks like lots of things haven't been updated in a while, good to see the website back online.

We are doing fine thanks.Actually there have been many updates/commits to our source code with work still ongoing on a private repo.Take a look at all the branches.

Ah I did not look at that, I was looking at Twitter and the telegram channel and the payout spreadsheet from Polo. I will check out the Github, thank you.

Apologies everyone for the down time in the website over the last week.

Essentially just before new years eve our previous hosting provider Site5, locked the website down as it believed we were using too many resources and we were breaching their terms of service. Having looked at all the traffic and resource usage logs everything has been pretty constant for several months so this was a complete surprise to us.

I asked Site5 to clarify but didn't get any response.  After discussions on live chat with their support I asked Site5 to move us to a VPS and transfer over the website as I believed this would get the website back up and running in the fastest time possible. A week later and I finally had access to the VPS.  It then took several more days for their support staff to restore the website. Once restored the VPS server appeared to be unstable and I was having constant issues connecting the server.

By last night I'd had enough and took out web hosting with another provider and a few hours later had restored the website myself. In hindsight I should of done this over a week ago. DNS propogation should have finished by now and everybody should be able to access the website again. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Thank you to everyone for their patience over the last week.

I recently had to do this for my company. After several days of no support from our current and terrible host, I switched hosts over the holiday week and restored everything myself.

Sometimes you hold onto hope that things will be fixed.....you did the right thing and it's understandable.

If they want COINS to go to the moon then they have to buy and sell. Just do something. If you have a higher IPO price than the original one, take your COINS out of the exchange.

what are you talking about?

nevermind, I answered my own question. if sha-256 gets cracked XBC will survive.

how's the XBC team doing these days? it looks like lots of things haven't been updated in a while, good to see the website back online.

this is literally the best kept secret in crypto right now IMO...imagine being able to buy ETH or BTC or even LTC at these prices again.....shhhhhhhhh!!!

I realize my opinion may not hold much merit (old account locked after the leak), but I have to say I'd agree with looking into a split, perhaps 50:1. Publicly-traded companies have stock splits all the time, even reputable ones such as Apple and Google. See https://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/what-stock-split-why-do-stocks-split/. It comes down to psychology; if XCB reaches a point where its market cap is 10% of BTC's, then each XCB coin will be worth more than double a BTC coin, which would IMO be off-putting for users and investors alike.

Your opinion does hold merit but we are not looking for investors. We want real use cases for where XBC serves an actual utilitarian function. We are a cryptocurrency and not some investment vehicle. If we wanted investors we would have held an ICO with a new coin/token or whatever instead of a free airdrop to old coin holders.

We are focused on real development now and want service providers to appreciate our efforts by listing us on their platforms so people here can use XBC regularly along with staking it into existence and confirming transactions etc.

Bitcoinplus already came from a place where we all were burned badly by the past events and we ended up at 10 cent with no trading activity and no developer, locked accounts,no money and a bug filled wallet on a stalled blockchain. We have had a long hard steady journey to the current situation where we can now see continuous ongoing development with at least 2 tier1 developers and a dedicated team running things smoothly without any arguments.

We dont want any pumps or dumps to destroy confidence so anytime you see a price rise that is for no logical reason DONT buy into it.The whole space is filled with wolves in sheeps clothing and endless amounts of BTC looking for coins to exploit for profit leaving a trail of destruction after they pump and dump their bags at unrealistic prices.Everyone needs to use their common sense including myself who bought my last XBC at over .03BTC .We are a low supply coin with moderate volume so unless things slowly develop in a sustainable way they won't hold.Lets think long term and keep developing and keeping up to date with things in a way that is easy to maintain and keep secure and efficient and as community members mention to all relevant service providers why you want to see Bitcoinplus listed on their platforms etc.

I am new to XBC but don't you dare increase the amount of coins. If I wanted that I would just go buy Bitcoin Z with its 24 billion coins at 10 cents each.

On a side note, if the SHA-256 gets hacked will that also affect this version of BTC?
