Re: [ANN] Metronome, an autonomous cryptocurrency with predictable supply
by

Hello.  I need some help please.  A few months ago i jumped into the metronome train, the chainhoping idea seemed sweet.

I downloaded the 1.4 wallet version.  Sent in some ETH. Bought up some MET.  Ported the MET to the ETC chain.  Withdrew that MET in ETC chain to a "local" ETC wallet.  MET arrived safely, so i was totally sold about this project being legit and able to port the tokens from chain to chain.  Goodie.

Today i decided to fire up the metronome local wallet.  It did not synched to the ETH chain.  It reads "SYNCH FAILED".  If i click the ETC wallet tab and it says is up to date.  Thats a bit weird.

Went ahead and DL the new wallet version 1.4.2
Totally uninstalled and wiped all remains from 1.4 version.
Installed 1.4.2 version hoping it would synch all the way, but no.

Stil showing "SYNCH FAILED"

Whats up? Is something wrong with the network? Anyone having this issues?

Thx in advance for any information.

not sync after block 63308

Happened a DOS attack and the blockchain broke on February 12, which made mining impossible until 4 days ago that the blockchain was fixed and three days ago the blockexplorer is synchronized can look for yourself. I think the mining is currently in block 71365. I think the code was changed or updated, and I think you should make a clean installation of the wallet again to make it work. Because I had to perform that process because since the blockexplorer was updated the wallet did not work and now with the new installation is ok

How do i synch to the current block with the blockexplorer.  I have version 1.1.0 of the wallet and i cant get on the 71K chain, stuck in 63k.....  Tried adding all the nodes available in the thread but still no way to get past that.  Can you please shed a little light over the synching to the blockexplorer issue?  TIA. Hello.  I try to mine the wallet but the miner says:

"No payout address provided, switching to getwork"

I used the console and getaccount / getaddress to get my addy. Used that as username in the config file and the bat file.  But still im getting that error and the miner closes.

What do i need to change? the bat file? the config file?   I can mine other wallets in that same computer so im unsure what the problem is.

Any pointers???  TIA

Cryptopia is a great exchange.  Thing runs smooth, has a bunch of coins and cool features.   Every time i deposit or withdraw my coins show up.  They even have the coininfo tab where you can check the number of connections for each coins wallet.  Mine shaft is up and running for several algos.  Its my favorite crypto-place by far.  The trollbox, as all crypto, is supposed to be for +18 users, so i would expect a little bit of tolerance, trollboxes are full of trolls... thats the point. Its all for the fun.  Now im not saying you have to like the way some trolls conduct, but one thing is some users being assholes in the trollboxes and another is the service provided by the exchange.   Long live Cryptopia, hell yeah!!! The best.

Cryptopia is the best overall exchange out there, hands down.   Lots of folks have already listed all the features, but what i have not seen being mentioned is the following:

The wallets are always working and if they need to go into maintenance  its usually for a short time while the new version is synched.  Not like Yoshit crappiness

Not once have i seen Cryptopia down, its always there for you.

The owners/admins have a very insightful view about cryptocurrencys.  This is not just another bussiness for them, they truly believe in cryptocurrency and are actually working to make it safe, fun and useful for the current users and all who are willing to give it a go.

The trollbox is absolutely amazing.  Folks from literally all around the globe, coming together and comunicating in different languages, the vast majority of time helping the other users and having a blast.

I heard about Cryptopia when i was entering the cryptobarren lands;  it was my first and still is my best    Wink    Since the beggining i always felt it as my home.

I freaking luv Topia.

hello guys, i have an issue.  I had a hodl wallet, version 1.0.0.  Never knew about the update to version 2.0.0.   A friend sent some HODL, he was also in the 1.0.0 version totally unaware that an updtae took place.   Anyways, he sent it and i did receive it.   I sent 1 HODL over to yobit and it never arrived, thats how i found out about the update.  So i went and updated to version 2.0.0 resynched from scratch and loaded my old wallet.dat

My friend´s deposit was showing, but is showing as "in conflict" has an X on the side, and obviouly the HODL is not credited in my balance.

I used the -salvagewallet command from the prompt, and it booted and recheck fine, but when i opened the wallet the "conflicting" tranactions had dissapeared from the trasaction history.

So i went ahead and reloaded the original wallet.dat file.  The transactions are showing again as conlficted, but at least i see them there right?

I feels like there is a compatibility issue or some kind of thing went crazy with those last transactions from my buddy.  Is there a way to get em back?  I still keep the original 1.0.0 appdata folder in a backup in case its necesary to go way back.

thanx in advance for any help or pointer provided.

sure thing.  i will provide 2 txids, one of the ones my bud sent me and the one i sent to yobit:

From my buddy to my wallet:

Thx again  Roll Eyes

Sooo..... my friend just resynched the 2.0.0 wallet and ran the -salvagewallet command on his wallet.  The hodl transactions that he sent me did in fact disappear from his wallet but the HODL did not reappeared.... Sad   So where are those HODL´s?Huh     Can anyone help with this???  TIA again guys. Smiley

No, the problem is not that the transactions is taking too long... Its worse than that.   At this point the HODL´s are neither in my wallet not in my buddies wallet.  We both were on the 1.0.0 version.  From a 1.0.0 wallet to another 1.0,0 wallet.  When synched to the 2.0.0 wallet those transactions appear as in conflict, and when -salvagewallet is applied the conflicting transactions disappear from the history, but the HODL is not restored in neither wallet.  Where are those HODLS?  Burnt or misplaced?  If misplaced, well, lets find them LOL.... If burnt thats the end of the story. But id really like to know what happened.

I think this post contains all the information needed to understand what happened, but if someone feels like they could help and may be needing more input from my end, please reply to the thread or send me a PM.  I will come back from time to time to bump this post a couple of times before  calling it quits.

I think you get coins from prefork chain..
maybe your friends will be able to send this coins after update again?

well it very much seems that way.  I will have to ask him to update and then load his wallet and then see if the balance is still showing in his wallet....  So bottom line.... What happened? the coins never left his wallet? are they in limbo? Or in my wallet?  Where is that HODL lol?Huh

Thx for reply

Hey guys, around Sept 09 my 808 wallet lost ALL connections.  I made a config file with some nodes, but still getting no connections.  Is somebody else having this problem? I opened the wallet in a different computer and still it shows 0 connections.  Its been two days like this now.  Hope someone can help out with working nodes or info on this matter.  Cheers and TIA

https://www.block-genesis.com/index.php/currencies/

Push the "Nodes" button on the right and you will get the nodes list ready to copy paste on your conf file, if you are on windows check that your activate the folder option to show file extensions if you don't you will end up with a 808.conf.txt

thx a bunch. ill add those nodes to the config file and give it a go.  Hopefully that will do the trick.  I will keep you posted regardless Smiley

9:15 PM Sep 11/2016:

Used the nodes from the suggested page, i added those to the ones i had.  When i rebooted the wallet it still showed 0 connections.  After a whie it showed 3 connections, then went back down to 1 single connection, then that one was also lost.  I tried it in 3 different computers and OS and in 2 different ISP... i think there is an issue somewhere and not necesarily me, the rest of my wallets in the afore mentioned computers are working fine.  I wonder if someone else is suffering this...  Thanx anyways. i will keep coming to see if someone has some answers and/or post updates about this.

So this is in simple terms what happened.  The wallet.dat file became corrupted and im asuming thats why the network kept kicking me and/or i as in my own mini fork....  I used repairwallet and got some coins back that where kinda in limbo, not confirmed not arrived, not spendable.  Eventually i was able to extract the coins using several wd, after using an older backupfile my coins were again under my control and in Cryptopia.  I deleted the wallet.dat and restarted the wallet.  It opened up and is got more connections than ever.  The addy changed, i deposited the coins back into it and its running smooth.  Im glad i had that backup.  I read in a TEK thread that those corruption issues may ocurr due to hardware of power failures.  RAM was also suggested.  i will keep an eye on the machine to see how it develops.  THX a lot for your support and efforts.

Sorry to here about your issue. What you should do is the following:

1. Wipe everything in your 808 folder where your wallet.dat is. Dont wipe your wallet.dat file
2. Create a 808.conf file with the the detail below in
3. Run wallet again and let it sync up. If you still have issues I will update the snapshot file
4. 808 staking configuration is interesting and entertaining and is working great. There are no issues in general so it must be something on your side.

That is weird men I just tested on a clean virtual machine with windows 7 and, found 8 connections and sync in 5 minutes, you can try

Code:
connect=172.110.29.94

to connect directly to my node and see if the connection keep alive, I also tested this on the VM and worked fine, I hope this help you.

First of all, thx for your support and help.  Sadly the problem remains.  Ive tried all the nodes that i could.  4 differente computers, 4 different OS and 2 different ISP.  Still the problem remains, either the new wallets cannot get connections and wont even synch, and the old wallet is acting up.  From time to time it will get a couple of connections, but when it stakes, the connections are lost. I got 2 transactions kinda lost in the limbo because of this, they could not confirm before the connections died out.  I used repair wallet and got the coins back, but i feel like they are stuck in there forevever LOL.  I cant mint cuz it wont confirm, i cant send them out cuz they wont confirm.  Im thinking about going into a cybercoffee to set up the wallet there an try to run my wallet.dat file there, but man.... WTF.   Im certain this is no common issue.  But is a curious one.  I should be compensated for finiding this bug ROFL.  Anyways.  Just wanted to update on this madness.  I was really digging the 808 until this.  I will keep fighting for this one, but starting to be tired of this at the same time.
