What do you thing, where crypto currency is going? Do you think this is end of crypto?

Everyone is holding and saying prices will go up again what can make prices go up again ? I do believe it will go up but not like last December unless something comes in and changes the market so what do you think it could be ?

Well, crypto has actually yet to reach full market saturation, once more people realize the many benefits of it and the potential it has, it will just keep growing, gaining more adoption, and a bigger market will lead to a higher prices to due to law of demand and supply. Hodl. Cheesy

These are hard times for cryptocurrency projects and ICOs. Prices are falling, and the internet giants are limiting crypto-related traffic and advertising in an attempt to protect consumers.

This is true, which is the very reason why many are giving up on crypto. But for those hodl, just imagine the value of the coins they are keeping. I believe crypto definitely has a future. There are a lot of struggles, like what it's facing now, but it will get there.

Re: $12000 to invest in long term. Which coin? :D
by

on 16/07/2018, 19:42:51 UTC
Which is a safe coin to invest in the long term?
How long should I hold it?

Is there a risk that I might lose it all?

I am a noob in cryptocurrencies. Help.  Huh

I was thinking Litecoin, is it a good idea?

There isn't really a safe coin so to speak. With any coin, there is a chance for lost, especially if you are the jittery type who panics when things start going down (which you can see is quite often these days). 12k dollars is a big chunk of money. Are you sure about this? But if you still want to invest, maybe try testing the waters first and see how much you are willing to risk. You can try the mainstream coins like btc and eth so atleast you know they are widely used and traded.

Re: Should I continue to invest?
by
PolyAlpha

I had invested one ICO previously, it failed although I didn't contribute a huge amount on it. A news yesterday made analysis on blockchain ICO projects, mentioning 92% of these ICO projects are failed.. Should I stop investing the others or any really potential ICO suggest?

Hello Sir,

I think you mean that 92% of China based ICO projects are failed. I saw similar posts in some crypto news websites, but I think its more like FUD. Banks and government institutions doesn't like it and in my opinion a lot of ICOs which failed are basically scammers and behind them there is/are some banker/bankers or other person who is interested to make profit and to make ICOs look like scammers homes. One shoot two kills Wink. I recommend you to keep investing in ICO, but always make good homework, check backgrounds of the team, check website info, make research what they offering. Avoid ICO with promising like "invest now and you will get 3000% profit" or etc. I still trust in ICOs, because the biggest gang of scammers and fraud are bankers... If you compare bankers and ICOs by amount of money which was scammed from people, bankers are light years ahead Wink.

it's true that banks and the government don't really like crypto and how it seems to take away their monopoly of the reigns. But of course, just like GodMode said, always do your homework before investing. And as I always say, invest only as much as you are willing to risk. Investing is good as long as you know your limits and how to check for what's good.

What's the best way to diversify starting with $500. I am overwhelmed right now with all the coins i am interested in. I'm just not sure if i should be only focused on the top 10 or can i pick xxx coin that's ranked between #40-#150. I can say i like about 15-20 coins/tokens i just feel that's way to many for $500. I would like to put half in blue chip coin and invest in some alts with the remaining half. I was thinking put $50 into 4 atls???
Idk man, i'm trying my hardest to figure this out. lol thank you for any help.

seeing as this is a post from march and is a pretty long thread, just curious on what you did decide to invest on?

Hi guys,

I was trying to invest around 5K in Etherium. The price at the moment is around 1.2K and as it looks it is still growing. You think is it a good time to invest ?

ETH is a good stable coin to invest in. Many other coins are actually built on it. Just make sure you invest only as much as you're willing to risk.

Re: Market corrections are good
by
PolyAlpha
on 15/07/2018, 10:48:41 UTC
The current market corrections are making a better investor, well weeding out the panicky investors that do not do their research. The hype balloon has been pretty deflated lately, making it easier to find legitimate projects to come to the surface. To top it off i don't have to read "when moon! when lambo!" every time i open discord or telegram. I think those are huge benefits.

this is true. Those who don't know much about the market or the coin they're investing in and just joined due to hype are likely to panic and bounce in times like this. They panic sell so coins also price lower than they should and that would make for even more profit when the coin goes up again.

Re: If your coin increased 40% - 200% in value over night. What would you do?
by
PolyAlpha
on 07/07/2018, 02:50:52 UTC
Do you continue hodling or sell? A lot of people say to hold no matter what happens and I'm not advocating daytrading but I think in a situation like this, it'd be advantageous to sell.

Thoughts? What would you do?

That depends on what the coin is for and what caused the rise. Of course if you can identify that it is a temporary cause, then selling is a good idea. But if the cause of the rise is in the coin's adoption itself, hodling would be better.

Re: Strategy to invest in crypto ?
by
PolyAlpha
on 07/07/2018, 02:44:28 UTC
This is the Strategy I was following in crypto. This is the example.

buy coin 300A @1.00 = 300

Sell 150 @2.00 (Now you covered your initial investment(Excluding fee))
Sell 50 @3.00 = 150
Sell 50 @4.00 = 200
Keep remaining 50 for long term( If market is crashing you have to sell this proton immediately).

But this method can't apply if the market crash before it reaching to 2x. I would like to know the approaches/Strategies you are following and drawbacks of this method.

There isn't really always a fixed method, but if you want to avoid the latter circumstance, a good strategy would be to choose only ICOs that actually have potential based on the driving team and the product they are pushing. When you see a lot of ICOs everyday, it's not that hard to learn which actually has some use and which are just trying to earn.

Re: Knowledge is the foundation
by
PolyAlpha
on 07/07/2018, 02:36:49 UTC
It is needful to say that before the completion of a magnificent building, it starts from the foundation, therefore, to excel as a crypto enthusiast you must start from the foundation, which is through the acquisition of knowledge.
I will not deny the fact that learning is a continuous process, but whoever is coming newly into crypto, should try as much as possible to learn first the rudiments before venturing into any aspect of crypo in order to avoid making costly mistakes.
What you already know cannot be taken away from you...
So, start from the foundation today and get the best from the crypto space.

Very true. Studying the ways and trends won't hurt. And though crypto is not that predictable, but being familiar with it will definitely help in making decisions, minimizing losses, and making better gains.

Well, the way I would phrase it is that Bitcoin is the face of cryptocurrency. Cheesy and both Bitcoin and Ethereum are the mother/ancestor of the newer coins, some better than them.

Re: Be patient for your profit
by
PolyAlpha
on 07/07/2018, 02:00:29 UTC
Hi,

I see a lot of members waiting for like 7 days and they didn't getting any profit..
After 14 days the price is dropping..

They screaming on bitcointalk and Twitter.. (some of them  Grin)
My answer.. Just wait!

- Developers can't work 24 hours a day
- don't check the twitter or ANN every hour  Wink
- a project in blockchain isn't a job for a week.. Be patient..
If you wait a year or a couple of months you get much more profit.

Now this one is very true! So many panic right away when the prices sink. Keeping your cool and studying into trends in this business is the way to go.

Re: Why is ICO period long?
by
PolyAlpha
on 07/07/2018, 01:53:44 UTC
This is a question I ask myself all the time that why do so many ICOs usually take so long period of time before they are  finally over. Some ICOs could go for long period of time as long as 6 months and 7 months thereabout. Does it mean the longer the period of ICO the better the rewards? Does that long period of time really mean I will have better profits either as a bounty hunter or an investor? I need some clarification and probably some  advise as a newbie to ICO bounty.

Well, there are several factors. There's the development, the movement of the team behind it, and of course, the fundraising part including the soft and hard cap values, which is where the heavy marketing goes. All of these contribute to the length of an ICO. As for whether the length affects the rewards, not necessarily.

Recently we've seen the bloodbath in crypto market which is not so irregular in market place . But the question is also remaining, Is crypto gonna rise again Huh Or like the haters are saying, Crypto will never rise Huh  Huh

I believe it will. It was so low before when not many knew about it. Now that it's gaining traction, given its great potential, it should make it comeback, though patience is a key here too.

Re: I will never join AirDrop programs any more
by
PolyAlpha
on 07/07/2018, 01:38:16 UTC
I have already joined hundreds of airdrops but I got nothing until now. I will never join AirDrop programs any more.
- Each airdrop rewards only some token, that its value from $5 to $20 (calculated by the ICO price)
- Most of the token are dead now (just spammed projects or shit coins)
- Some tokens have been listed on Coinmarketcap now but the token price is terrible low. The value even equal to the transaction fee if I send the tokens to exchanges.

Surely there are many coins/tokens that didn't really make it, but you know, an empire isn't built in one day. Even bitcoin didn't really pick up for a long time, and after it did, it still had down moments before reaching it's current price which is several times of its starting. Airdrops are generally free, some not even requiring much effort from you to get. Though, I guess you might as well just try out those that you think has some merit to their project.

Re: Receive Airdrop by sending 0 Ether?
by
PolyAlpha
on 30/06/2018, 00:35:03 UTC
If someone asks you to send your money for the airdrop, this is fraud. The very meaning of airdrop is the free distribution of tokens. To receive them you may need to either fill out the form or register in the whitelist.
But do not send any money to anyone, do not give your passwords and specify not your main e-mail, as many projects are fraud. You will receive a lot of useless spam messages. Like "You won something - send us money and get a prize", "only you are offered a closed sale, send money and get a 100% bonus."
Do not believe this ever.

Thanks. The one I joined though does not involve any substantial amount, just send 0 ether, so I guess just few cents to spare for the network cost and once you send it you will then receive the airdrop coins instantly. Mostly it will be around 3K coins something like that. Perhaps it's just some ambitious dudes who wants to initiate a project, they will generate coins using ethereum network create a contract and make an announcement to participate and once they see many participants that's the only time they will start in doing the project. Due to lack of knowledge and planning I bet mostly will fail but I am hoping to see someone finding a bit of success like being able to lunch a product, or create a whitepaper.

I think that 3k coins alone that you mention seems pretty fishy. I've joined many airdrops, not one asked for any ether to be sent, not even 0, and usually airdropping only a number of tokens/coins. 3k seems so high, unless it was accumulated on bounty tasks or referral, or what, but even then, 3k just seems a bit unbelievable. Even if it is legit, the value of the coins won't be much seeing as they distribute that high on an airdrop.

Re: Don't hold Bitcoin for long time.
by
PolyAlpha
on 30/06/2018, 00:10:01 UTC
Hold is Bitcoin for long time, there is no much profit. You know why ?

Because if you only hold Bitcoin your balance will grow up only on USD rate. For example you hold 1 BTC . Current price 7500$. It's might 10k after some day. But you still have only 1 BTC.

Now think you have 1 btc and you convert it into BCH. Example for 1 BTC you get 10 BCH. Rate per bch is 0.1 BTC .

After some day if Bitcoin grow up, At the same time BCH also will grow up.
If bch rate grow 1.5 btc then you will have 1.5 BTC.

But before buy alt coin please select best coin to avoid dump.

So what you think. Hold alt coin or Bitcoin ?

Why not hold and invest? I think there is merit in hodling some BTC, and investing some of it. That way, if BTC goes up, you have some long-term value in it already, and you also earned from the trading you did with other altcoins. And if you have enough, you don't need to hold just one coin. Wink

I am seriously considering it.
There is no future in a small market cap that is pumped and dumped!

In addition, trading bots are running the show: milking everyone!

No, definitely not. There is a lot of potential in crypto. But it takes a lot of patience, yes. And it is always good to only invest as much as you are willing to lose. Smiley

There so many ICOs coming out everyday. The market can't support thousands of ICOS. This has to  stop.

Indeed that's true. But it's not like they can be stopped easily. We can just sort through them and see which we want to invest in. Wink
