UPDATE 12/11/2018
As I really need to move all of this hardware I am dropping the price down to 18,000 EUR (around 20,000 USD)

Hi all,

As I've successfully sold most of the hardware that I had on my previous lists (thanks again to everyone involved in helping me) here's the list of what's left in my little warehouse. I am first aiming to sell everything in one go to a single buyer. Some stuff is used (cleaned, in perfect condition) and some is brand new with foil and original packaging.

I have a proof of purchase for every single item on this list.

Payment: Cash or BTC
Delivery: I am based in Berlin/Germany. Personal pickup works fine with me. I can also personally deliver the hardware to any neighbouring country (Poland, Italy, Czech Republic, Austria, etc.).
Price: My Excel spreadsheet tells me that everything all together is 23,512.00 EUR. If you'd like to buy everything in one go we can probably settle on something in between 20k - 23k EUR. Let's talk.
Contact: PM me or use Telegram: @cryptana

What exactly is Escrow, how do I use it and what are the risks/drawbacks?

Hi all,

so I'm selling a lot of crypto hardware for a large sum of money and shipping it from Germany to another country in Europe. Seller seems like an honest guy and he'd like to pay via Escrow. I've never done any deals via Escrow and to be honest, I'm not entirely sure how it works. Tried some YT videos on this topic but they are mostly about real estate and the whole process seems to me as a bit too complicated. Do I need an Escrow agent? Who is he? How do I find one? What happens when I send my hardware to the buyer and he refuses to pay and never sends it back?

If there's anyone here on this forum who did some deals via Escrow and could shed some light on that topic I would be very thankful.

Sent a private message several days ago: never received a reply.

I have a life outside crypto and I'm not on bitcointalk every day. I put my telegram contact in my original post so please use that medium if you need immediate response.

"Just took this fantastic picture that's super mine but I am too lazy to put my username in it now" response is probably a good indicator of how much of a scammer this user is.

There you go. Especially for you man.

Also if you like to provide valid picture proof of ownership, make sure you write your forum name and date on paper.

That's a good idea Smiley But I already took those pictures over the weekend so would prefer not to re-take them again.

Crypto Mining Contanier (20ft / 6m) ready for deployment anywhere in the world
by
Pono
on 25/09/2018, 10:21:39 UTC
Hello all,

As I mentioned in this thread, I've just got a lot of crypto-mining hardware as a payment and I was asking fellow miners what to do with it all. The conclusion was that I should just list the hardware here on this board so here we go with the biggest item - crypto mining container.

My former company was looking for cheap electricity sources and decided that the best way is to go mobile - put everything in a container and deploy it close to cheap electricity.

  • This is brand new (so-called "one-way") 20ft (6m) shipping container prepared by professionals for crypto mining
  • Container is completely waterproof (rubber and silicone around each vent) and can (should be) deployed outside
  • The roof (on the outside) is covered with white chlorinated rubber paint (chlorocaoutchouc) to reflect sunlight and prevent excessive heat absorbtion
  • It has 170 vents installed in total (85 on each side) that suck the fresh, cool air into the container from the outside. Each vent is protected by its own filter.
  • Four powerful 40cm fans are mounted inside each pumping out 4150 m3 per hour (160Pa pressure) and drawing 185W
  • Those four fans together pump out 276m3 per minute which means that in one minute the whole air inside the container is replaced 5 times.
  • All the electrical setup is already done inside with proper cable management
  • Container is divided into two sides, each with its own power meters, breakers and surge protectors. Each side can withstand 100A of continuous current
  • Six racks with five shelves per rack are prepared to accommodate mining equipment. Each shelf has three power sockets behind it terminated by Legrand's C25 amp breaker.
  • Above each rack there's a small shelve with its own power outlet for a 16-port switch (or any other hardware)
  • Shelves are made of perforated steel (powder coated) in order to help with airflow around the mining equipment
  • Floor of the container is made of reinforced eco-bamboo so borers and other insects won't eat through it

On the photos below there are rigs on the shelves which will be listed for sale in another thread.

A brand new container (without any modifications, just steel and door) is 3,000 EUR. All the electrical equipment inside like cables, breakers, fans, vents, racks, etc are worth 3,500 EUR so we have 6,500 EUR plus the costs of man labour that's been put into bringing this thing to life. I can't go lower than 8,500 EUR without losing respect for myself. Shipping will be from the EU (Germany). I can provide a VAT invoice. If you'd like to make an offer for this container please PM me or use Telegram.

I have two dozen of L3+ and I'm thinking about giving it to my 3yo son as he likes to play with fans and screws. That's the only use I can think of for old ASICs at the moment.

From what I'm hearing here from you guys eBay and Craigslist is not an option for me or any of us who want to sell crypto-mining gear. I am currently preparing a list of the hardware that I have with photos and will post on the marketplace board. Maybe I can find a bulk buyer there.

Selling the gear in the Computer Hardware board couldn’t hurt (proceed with escrow unless buyer goes first). Plus, you’ll get payments in crypto if you choose to accept that as payment, and that’s always nice. I’ve never had a deal go bad there, but I’ve also always used escrow.

As a general rule on eBay, don’t sell what you can’t afford to lose. People always find a way to fraudently refund items there, and I’ve been burned by it in the past so many times I just quit using the site except for buying goods. eBay seems good on the buyer’s end, but it’s really a mess when you start going to sell things, and I wouldn’t risk it selling gear in bulk. The forums aren’t the quickest place to sell gear, and a lot of posts in the computer hardware board are for North American sales, but it’s better than some alternatives like eBay.
True story which if you do like to save yourself into  trouble or headache then its better to skip out Ebay and same as leo i do have the similar experience when it comes to selling. Why not try to sell out first on local buy and sell site?
On op, if i do have that large amount of miners since all things are intact then it would be better to mine on your own since it wont really needed for you to go full time and do make check up anytime but knowing on where you do live then it isnt really profitable at all knowing that your place do have an expensive electricity.Your last choice is to sell it out. Try to post on the forum link given above.

Thanks for your comment. I am based in Germany where electricity prices are the second highest in the EU. I have a contact in Poland where they offer me $0.11 per kWh. All the hardware that I have is worth (retail) approximately 180.000 EUR. I am willing to drop the price for all to 110.000 EUR. With the current crypto prices and GPU mining, in general, it would take years to make the same amount of money with mining. That's why I'm willing to drop 70.000 EUR and just sell it all in one go.
