Re: PhoenixMiner 3.5d: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux)
by

I am trying out this miner with good results so far.

I do however have one problem that I cannot seem to resolve. No matter how many pools I enter into epools.txt the miner ALWAYS reports that I have one more pool then I have actually entered. If I only have a single line in epools.txt the miner reports two pools when it starts, it tries to connect to the first one and fails because it simply does not exist ("could not resolve host"). After some time it tries the second pool (witch in fact is the first and only one) and it starts mining.

This example is working perfectly fine with claymore, but not with phoenix.

Code:
POOL: daggerhashimoto.eu.nicehash.com:3353, WALLET: , PSW: x, ESM: 3, ALLPOOLS: 1

I have the same problem on quite a few rigs. They are all running HiveOS (latest version).

Any suggested solutions?

Am I the only one with this problem? Any response from the dev would be appreciated.

Can someone who has this mother board Bios settings working for more than 8 GPUs share the settings?

If you have like 10 nVidia (my case) or similar (>Cool same cards.

Thx

I have several 10/12 GPU-rigs running on this mobo with no issues. Default BIOS-setting except boot on power loss.

Re: L3+ voltage tuning script
by

on 31/05/2018, 12:34:51 UTC
Fantastic tool!

But I do feel that something about it is a bit off, everytime I run the script i feel  like it keeps setting the voltage lower and lower.

I ran the script 7 times in a row without doing any changes what so ever in between and this is the results (I converted the hex into decimal too to make it easier so see for us that are not used to hex values Smiley )

Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

...

Thanks.

The current version on github has still a few minor but annoying bugs, one of them being that it declares a miner that can be downvolted more as "tuned" and exits. I have a version that has these fixed as well as the tuning process improved that I am currently testing on my miners. I will push that version to github in the next two days and will post here then.

Regarding the script running multiple times: That's no problem, the script turns the voltage down as long as there is less than 1 error/min on the respective chain, once there is more errors it starts to increase the voltage again until a point is found where it sill produces errors but less than 1/min and chain.
You can run it as often as you like, with every run it should tune your miner closer to it's ideal voltage at current conditions (frequency and ambient).

Ok, thanks. Looking forward to the new version.  A nice feature would be to keep the script running in an infinite loop to always adjust the voltage. The ambient temperature differs quite a bit for my miners and therefore the optimal voltage is different from time to time.

Would it be possible to implement a more advanced fan controll?

For example, keep the fan speed 10 points (or whatever you choose) over current temp. Card is 55 degrees = fan speed 65% etc.

So are Vega cards not supported at all? Even w Claymore_Dual?

There are fresh 17.50 drivers and there are some mentions of vega in it. Will test it if I find any vega at my disposal. Or even you can write me of you give me ssh to your rig with hive.

Let me know if you need to access to a rig with Vega cards in place. I will set one up specially for this purpose if this could enable Vega support in HiveOS.

Re: 8 GPU Vega CryptoNight Mining Build - Will this work?

I have no idea why everyone is so hard on the Asrock H110 Pro BTC+. Its a great board.

I have 10 of them running with different configurations, from 7 to 13 cards and I have not had a single problem related to the motherboard.

It is pretty much "plug and play", the only bios setting to be  changes is to boot automatically when the power goes out.

Disclaimer, I have not been running it with 8 vegas, yet. I get my Vegas the coming week and will then build a 10 GPU Vega build using this motherboard.

Good luck!

No. Use Wattman.

I found one small feature is missing; "Profiles". It'd be awesome to have profiling feature so we can create different profiles which is technically a mixture of a wallet, miner program, and if possible overclocking settings.

Awesome idea!

This thread is inspired by yun9999 and his amazing "Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave" (if your not already following him and his thread, do it! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1806061.0)

I am currently building my own "Mini Mining Mancave". Not a lot of info right now, just a few images Smiley

My house is not able to provide enough power to all cards so 42 of the cards will be placed at another location this weekend.

I´ll happily answer any questions!

This is whats its all about, 63 GTX1070  (I have a few Vega56 incoming too, but they have not arrived yet)

Re: Owners of GTX 1070, what is your hashrate?

Core +190
Memory +1200 (I´m running linux, so this value should be +600 in Windows)
Powerlimit 150W

I was like WTF for a second. Why is that difference between win and lin?

Cause in linux your setting for memory is about GPUMemoryTransferRateOffset

So for basic, transfer rate of your memory = Memory Freq x 2

So OC on Windows will be

Core +190 / Memory +600

What is your model by the way +190 on Core seems impressive ...

Sorry for a late reply.

The model is Gigabyte GeForce GTX1070 WindForce OC 8GB (GV-N1070WF2OC-8GB). Stable as a rock, 14 days uptime as we speak.

Re: Connector names and models

I need to make my own cables for my coming project, but I have a hard time to find the correct connectors.

Can someone give me part numbers or a link to a manufacturer where I can buy PCI-E 6 & 2 pin connectors?

that's because its not easy to find the names and model numbers, I know because I make my own for my rigs
took me few months to find the right names, part numbers, comparing this with that, and even made a couple mistakes and ordered shit that was useless to me, someone isn't just going to hand you that list. took those of us that already know how to make those types of cables some time to sources the right information and then find the correct corresponding parts
¨

Okay, I had no idea that this was some kind of secret knowledge, I just figured that my google skills was not good enough.

Anyhow. I´ll try to make a public list here whenever I manage to find something, and if anyone else wants to contribute, feel free to do so.
