So far we know that PoW is the most secure protocol but expends massive amounts of energy. And although we all dream of seeing BTC in the range of 100k-300k (if it ever reaches new ATH or if it survives) such a price could only come at a huge energetic cost. Currently PoW could be described as, literally, energy suicide. You mention that this router doubles as a mining rig and operates on only 12 watts.
