 This round (currently 1h 8min) will last between 1h 30min and 2h 15min
 There will be at least 2 rounds below 3h in the next ~14h (by 13:00 UTC)

Here is more then just the one horribly wrong reward, again can anyone explain this to me?  is Slush just fucking with us or is his pool really turning to shit I have only ever mined with since like sept 2011 but, if i can digress back to Kindergarten for a bit "I am gonna take all my toys and go home".

Yes, I'd say it's just a change in 'c'. You reduce variance by increasing 'c', although this makes the pool more hoppable. He probably put it back up to 300. It might be even higher now, given the decrease in network proportion. My guess is that c is probably 400 right now.

Difficulty changes as the time between retargets change.

A retarget occurs ever 2016 blocks. If the time between blocks is exactly 14 days, difficulty stays the same. If time between retargets is less than 14 days, difficulty increases by the same proportion.

Moreinterestingly (for you) is that If the time between retargets is more than 14 days, difficulty decreases by the same proportion. So if it takes 15 days for 2016 blocks, difficulty would be divided by 15/14 to get the next difficulty.
