Re: Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements
by

I was really happy after seeing this new rule, because i always see those thread talking about how to eliminate spammers and shitposter. But then I realize I am one of them, I am one of those who get demoted. Then it makes me sad for I thought I can finally join campaigns. But isnt it unfair for newbies? Because the higher ranks or the merit sources give less focus to newbies. We have overflowing threads because of the new rule and most of them is begging for merits, some who has large number of post but still didnt get merit inspite of having quality post.

Re: Why I am not sharing my crypto love? <3
by
Potato07
on 13/09/2018, 11:31:36 UTC
I wanted to say that I have stopped sharing my crypto interest with close mates of mine.
Because they will became greedy and jealous for that money they could have too.
But the problem is that they are seeing a results of hard intense and long work! My tokens sometimes costed me like 3 months of work, (not the hardest, but anyway).
And the are saying then - teach me how to do that! Teach my now in half hour! So I would have my $1000 tomorrow!
And then they are trying to do something here for 5 days, nothing comes so fast and they give up,
also the relations are harmed...

Thanks for your attention folks! Nice days!
I also stop sharing my crypto knowledge to other. Because when you told people about it they will surely be amazed of it because it truly is amazing. So after the lecture they surely ask hows question like how to do it, how to have tokens?, how can i join? And so on. But after a week, they will stop asking you about it because they'd lose their interest because they are too impatient of having a token too. So I dont bother anymore.

Re: Is cryptocurrency so difficult to understand
by
Potato07
on 13/09/2018, 11:16:00 UTC
I engaged with young people and layman people in my communities on the quest of exposing them to cryptocurrency. During the period I discovered that they find It so difficult to understand the concepts, they are so much acquainted with fiat currency and traditional ways of making payment transactions.
I will be impress If I can get a valuable ways and methods in making them understand what cryptocurrency is all about and engage them actively.
No, its not because its hard to understand i think. It is unbelievable instead. As i heard people explaining bitcoin to others, you'll see that they were baffled to what their friends are saying. I think its because its rare for everyone to use cryptocurrency on their every day lives for others is still unfamiliar about cryptocurrency as there still physical money.

Re: What should we focus on more? Demand or Supply?
by
Potato07
on 12/09/2018, 12:23:49 UTC
I see a lot of people that are hoarding 100% of their bitcoins, because they believe cutting off the supply, would be enough to increase the price.

Would it not be better, if we increased the demand by increasing Bitcoin awareness and convincing more merchants to offer Bitcoin payments?

A 100% hoarding strategy is more harmful, because it cancels all the good work that was done to get merchants to accept Bitcoin as a payment option. A merchant will stop accepting Bitcoin, if their is no demand or transactions being generated for their business from the Bitcoin payment side.

We should actively encourage local merchants to start accepting bitcoins and then we should start supporting them.

Just buy back the bitcoins that you spend and you will be fine or use money that you would not have hoarded and buy the goods or service with bitcoins.

Adopt a 80% hoarding and 20% spending strategy and we will see a massive increase in Bitcoin adoption  Cool
You are right, in that way we are making bitcoin active again it didnt become passive tho. What I am just saying is since btc is dropping in its price people are selling their btc, and with that the other will hold it until btc price rise again. Which i think is wrong, instead we should use bitcoin in our daily basis so that it will increase the dependency of people on it which will increase the demand of it.

Re: The world is going digital
by

on 12/09/2018, 11:37:09 UTC
Its very interesting whenever I see posts like 'bitcoin is dead' or someone asking 'is bitcoin going to die?'. I ask myself, are these people really current at all. Everything we are doing in this modern world is gradually becoming digitized. We are gradually moving from the pen and paper world. The blockchain technology is full of new ideas and projects which is gradually turning the world to a more convenient place to live. Please the fact that you invested in some shit coin and it died doesn't mean the whole crypto community is dying. Trust me, if every coin will then not bitcoin. Digital currency is the new world, very soon the whole world will accept and adopt this great concept
Indeed! Everything is improving, everything is developing. So it's not impossible for us to completely adopt digital currency. You are right, it might not be bitcoin but it will still surely be a cryptocurrency. The advancement of technology is so fast to the point that the probability of all people adopting cryptocurrency is getting higher.

Re: Why Big Banks are so Nervous About Bitcoin ? Why ?
by
Potato07
on 11/09/2018, 03:18:12 UTC

There was a time where Bitcoin was not even on the radar, it was a novel idea that was primarily used by thieves and drug dealers on the dark web. Nothing to be afraid of in terms of holding a monopoly on money.

However, that same little upstart is now disrupting the system of things; from Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, ICOs and the ever impressive Blockchain technology. This is now a legitimate threat on traditional banks.

Banks have existed unchallenged for hundreds of years, and that is the key issue here; Bitcoin, backed by a solid platform such as Blockchain technology, is a ghost that is incredibly hard to control due to its decentralized nature.

The power and control of money is being ripped away from traditional institutions, which can also be seen on Wall Street. Some of these traditional investors are siding with what could be the future, while others vehemently denounce it.

Individuals can now enter into direct peer-to-peer trusted exchanges with strangers. They no longer need a central institution to vouch for the other party.

Just like the fax machine, the library, even metered taxis, new technologies have come along and made others obsolete. Banks are now in the sights of Bitcoin and are in their death throws, as they lash out with the power of states behind them.

However, there’s no stopping progress, and even with state-backed regulations trying to wrestle the money of the people under control, banks have every reason to be nervous.

Full news https://www.cointelegraph.com/news/why-big-banks-are-so-nervous-about-bitcoin
They were scared because bitcoin has the potential to overcome them. As the transaction here becomes easier and as long as people are becoming more aware of it the bank are being out of scene. Which makes them nervous i think. The more people patronizing/using bitcoin the less the money and transaction they have which eventually might lead them to bankrupt, if and only if majority of people were using crypto already.

Re: DO PEOPLE STILL HAVE CONFIDENCE IN BITCOIN?
by

on 11/09/2018, 03:09:21 UTC
Why are many disturbed about the  drop in the price of bitcoin  Cool. Come on guys, this is the not the time to give up on this amazing digital currency. Although this year has been a very volatile year for bitcoin, but one thing has always remained whenever this amazing digital cryptocurrency goes down, it bounces back much stronger than it was before. This is hope that keeps most crypto enthusiasts like myself who are resilient and have compelled us to develop a strong faith in this amazing cryptocurrency called bitcoin. Please this is not the time to give up on this amazing coin.  Roll Eyes
Of course some had lost their trust about bitcoin, because it's continuously dropping. Though you says that it's going to bounce back there were still panic sellers out there. They will be back dont worry when bitcoin prove itself to them.

I'm a newbie here and I'm posting or commenting on some threads. I notice that every posts I made after that it increases my activity, but I notice 2 days ago my activity doesnt increase even I am posting or commenting?
Activity has its limits. You cannot exceed your post in a week. As I observed, 7 activities are counted per week so basically even you posted so many times it will not be counted as activity if you alread reach the limit in a week.

Is begging merits prohibited? feel like this is the only way to me  Cry Cry Cry
Yes it is, its like you're begging for them to like your post which is inappropriate. As far as i read this forum is for us to learn and for us to share ours. Merit is just another factor, it's just a bonus. If they acknowledged you for your knowledge then there it is they'll give you merit but if it is not, just continue to have a good post with the intention of sharing of course not just because you have to then time will come someone will give you merits.

Re: BITCOIN won't die, period.
by
Potato07
on 09/09/2018, 01:19:15 UTC
As you can see that BTC is the largest crypto among all in the market, I just really do not understand why people like to claim that BTC is about to die, do not easily fall for these kinds of topics and think that Bitcoin is dying, put some research on it, its just another person's opinion but again it is misleading. One last thing before you reply, this is extremely important and might be a big help for you (especially for newbies) avoid agreeing with such wrong info given to you, be sure to take extra care in replying, and the most important part of all is that you should make some research and do not forget to read the thread (if necessary) it is also important as you can gain new information from other people, though just make sure that what you are reading is very much legitimate.

Thank you and feel free to respond, I wanna see your insights about this.
The first time I enter this forum I've seen so many threads talking about bitcoin is going to die, because of the continuous dropping of its price, but then that doesn't affect me at first since i am just a newbie. Then I read and read, until i conclude that bitcoin will never die, this dropping price moment is just the correction state of btc. So fear not because its normal for btc to dropped like that it will soon be fixed. Doubts were there of course but I'll say that btc wont die.

Re: Tumatamlay ang Merkado ng Cryptocurrency
by
Potato07
on 08/09/2018, 12:17:12 UTC

Things will eventually boil down to the trust and confidence of the market -- we are talking of the people here the investors and the holders -- bestowed on cryptocurrency. After last year heavy speculation and the eventual crash, many people are now asking if it is really worth it storing their wealth in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. When they see that a simple announcement from the government do affect the value of cryptocurrency, people are realizing that actually cryptocurrency is not truly independent from the government and that we are not yet actually enjoying the benefits of decentralization. Of course, there will always be many analysis on this matter but there is no denying that the confidence in the market is crashing. Let's wait for the reasons when this confidence will be bullish...and hopefully that can happen soon.
There are so many threads na about it, marami nang nag aalala kung tataas pa to o hindi. That's why I think we should use our btc in our daily basis, dont just hold it para naman tumaas ang demand nito. The more na hindi natin ito ginagamit the more na bumababa dahil hindi nagfufunction.

Re: Hodlers will not change the world
by
Potato07
on 08/09/2018, 04:12:46 UTC
There are two opinions in the crypto world: some people consider cryptocurrencies digital gold, while others believe that cryptocurrencies will be used as means of payment.

The first idea is quite convenient. You can just do nothing. For the first time ever, doing nothing has actually become a heroic deed – people are proud to be hodlers, proud to do nothing with their cryptocurrency. But do you really believe this approach will change the world? Seriously?

Let’s be honest. Real crypto communities – there are few. There are few people who own cryptocurrency. The number is vanishingly small. Crypto prices will not grow while there are so few of us. The demand is just too small and there are no drivers of growth.

So, what should we do? Is there a reason to just sit and wait for cryptocurrencies to grow? I believe there is none. The only possible solution is that people actually start using crypto in their everyday lives. The number of crypto transactions should amount to hundreds of millions a day. Then, and only then, will cryptocurrencies grow in price.

Personally, I see no other options. However, this cannot be handled by one man alone. The whole crypto community should do this. You may ask: is it possible to live paying with cryptocurrencies only? Judging from our experience –  yes. Moreover, we have video proof: here is a story of a guy from Scotland https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gb_yVnkHSFs and here is a story of a guy from Thailand https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l09U16Oqbck.

People will say I’m biased, since I founded a project where you can sell and buy goods for crypto. Yes, it’s true. Still, I’m more interested in expansion of cryptocurrencies than in my project’s expansion. In fact, I founded it for one simple reason: I’m sure that hodlers will never change the world. But we will. We should just learn from the guys in our videos who pay with cryptocurrencies in everyday life and make cryptocurrencies valuable.

All this time, i thought holding is the best way to make the price rise again but yeah because of what you said it makes me realized that they are not. But also im thinking that it makes the price rise when so much people are trading. A panic seller and a certified buyer makes the crypto price rise because as they do it, it means that they use btc. As they buy and sell, buy and sell crypto is moving, which make it active. Does anybody get my point? 😅

Re: Why the price of bitcoin rapidly going down
by

on 08/09/2018, 03:58:24 UTC
The news in term of development are actually decent, with LN getting closer to a release, so I think this is just temporary. Smiley
Some people are now doubting bitcoin, by that bitcoin holder now trying to sell their bitcoin which is one of the reason why the price drops. Panic seller i think is one of the cause of it.

Re: What will actually happen if bitcoin price continue to drop?
by
Potato07
on 06/09/2018, 15:25:07 UTC
I was reading on some threads here and it made me wonder what will actually happen if the price of bitcoin continues to drop? And who will be affected more by this: bitcoin miners? Buyers? What do you think guys?
Everyone who hold bitcoin will definitely the one who'll suffer, this what causes panic sellers. They were scared about getting nothing after investing so much money on it. On the other hand buyers will benifit from this as  the price goes down there were some who take advantage of it to buy btc so that they will be the one to hold it now, so when the time comes that btc price rise again they will be the one who will be lucky. I think this is how btc really works.

Re: Friends reactions to crypto currencies?
by
Potato07
on 06/09/2018, 15:14:43 UTC
I was questioned on crypto currencies legalization. I explained the facts happening around. Few received it with convincing reactions and few just ignored it. I really felt bad for the guys who did not care about crypto currencies as I really know the fruitfulness? I happily taught few others about crypto currencies. What was your friends expression when you introduced bitcoin to them?
One of my friend just also mentioned crypto currencies to me, and i am amazed by the knowledge that it actually exist, thus i asked my friend  if i can learn more about it, then he brings me here. The issue about bitcoin is emerging over time in our community which makes me think why i didnt know this before, it's such a great currency to transact because it's to convenient.

Re: I LOVE PANIC SELLERS
by
Potato07
on 06/09/2018, 14:36:16 UTC
People go here and there spooling, spreading and propagating FUD to get on peoples emotions and to put them on PANIC MODE just so they sell their BTC, and you know what, PANIC SELLERS in these industry are LAZY, they can't and won't research and understand after lots of rise and fall in these year that the KING of all digital currencies is just going through a phase.

I personally Love PANIC SELLERS, and I hope there can be a section on these platform where they register so that people like me can contact them to buy CHEAP from they..

GRACIAS PANIC SELLERS, MUCH LOVE TO ALL OF YOU OUT THERE BLESSING FUTURE MILLIONAIRES WITH YOUR COIN
with this again is a proof that bitcoin will never fade like every panic sellers believe. Some were really doubtful about the day that the bitcoin price will rise again, i've seen so many threads about it they were so hopeless about bitcoin. Some are already convincing others that bitcoin will soon be unvalued.

Re: Don't worry, Bitcoin will be fine.
by
Potato07
on 05/09/2018, 08:49:33 UTC
why does everyone start to panicking when they see the price of Bitcoin dropping so much, in my opinion it is natural that the price of Bitcoin falls because Bitcoin has experienced the same thing as now, so I suggest not to be afraid and panic.

we will see from this graphic :
1. On April 29, 2013 the price of Bitcoin was only $ 135.30
https://steemitimages.com/0x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmcj87AFpnNdqbPdRVYBJB6Zd8bSjmMqqp8kHjiMEszyrP/b4.jpg

2. and on November 30, 2013 the price of Bitcoin increase high at the price of $ 1,149.14
https://steemitimages.com/0x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmcngKTWQYbDvg2KWSd2rwUsZTpFMuyMraeHxBADHAfXar/b1.jpg

3. then on January 2, 2014 the price of Bitcoin decreased at a price of $ 773.40 and on December 31, 2016 the price of Bitcoin began to increase again
https://steemitimages.com/0x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmV8DNWMg2BfWNha7QUWuQXfvu7DEHR39a96k85fzPJCsp/b123.png

4. and the price of Bitcoin began to rise high at the price of $ 19,783.30 on the 17th of December 2017
https://steemitimages.com/0x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmRHe7w2gCeo8z7GTsY8N7xo5PnDmJdrSnk7pvyQjnikBx/b2.jpg

and as we know, now the price of Bitcoin at $ 6,948.46 and this is indeed down very far compared to prices on December 17, 2017, but it has already happened in 2014 where the price of Bitcoin dropped very far and it continues until 2016 and in 2017 finally Bitcoin prices start to increase again (it takes around 3 years to make Bitcoin prices rise). so from that, I'm sure the price of Bitcoin will increase again even though the time needed is not short.

I hope so, based on the statistics it dropped so much, to the point that it cause so much people to panic, with this, some of them doesnt trust bitcoin anymore. So they now selling their bitcoins because they feel that it will be invalued soon.

Will bitcoin prices continue to fall?
this situation makes me hesitant, I have to sell or keep holding it back. because of the uncertain market conditions, I have to think wisely. give your best advice
It's hard to guess what will happen though Its sure that the prize will fall but at a later time it will rise up again. I think everyone is expecting this rise on december.
