Is there any more description than this https://support.awesomeminer.com/support/solutions/articles/35000188785-dual-mining-with-t-rex-gminer-and-lolminer on Dual mining for Managed Profit Miner?
Is there even more functionality than just eth + some other coin? Or some easy way to benchmark the different dual mining for auto-switching?

Remember in the claymore days this worked in Awesome Miner. But have not used auto switch and dual in a while.
Manually settings a miner to dual mine seems to work fine. But the auto part I do not get.

Any one else having sudden problems with POST to the awesomeminer API ?

I do not remember doing any other changes than update.
GET works, like /api/summary?user_id=5

If I do a "start" post I get 400.

LolMiner starts Beam with --pers Beam-PoW
Removing --pers Beam-PoW makes the miner function on Beam.

Any Chance ...

That this will be ported to Linux any time at all?

I don't mean 'it works in Linux', because it actually doesn't work in some Distros and not so well in others.

Just curious.

#crysx #cwi
Thanks for your question. I do understand the benefits of providing a more complete solution for Linux-based mining but there are unfortunately no plans for the near future to provide this.

Definetly works better with Windows. It's easy to understand as AM is probably developped in .net, probably C#. I gave up on linux, too much trouble.

'Linux' ...

Probably using Ubuntu - and you call it 'Linux' ... No - Linux is the OS and Ubuntu, Fedora, CentOS and others are Distributions and builds of 'Linux'.

Linux itself is BY FAR easier and more flexible than Windows will EVER be. Take it from a Miner here that has been doing this for almost 12Years now, and has one of the Largest Mining Farms in the Southern Hemisphere.

Windows couldn't do 1/10th of what 'Linux' does in a heartbeat.

But thanks for your input anyway. C# is a copy and clutter of C++ in many ways that Miscrosoft Fuddles together. Still to this day, it requires MORE resources than C/C++ AND the remnants of a slow cumbersome operating System Called Windows (or at least the Base of Windows).

A Native Fedora/CentOS or Ubuntu/Debian Linux Port would show you how magnificently it proves My point in performance and Flexibility.

Unfortunately - this Wonderful package has no plans to go there, so We will continue using the Package We have, and the Management systems We have currently - which works VERY Well by the way anyway. It would have been nice if Awesome Miner was one of those Packages.

#crysx #cwi

Sorry but what your are talking is so wrong. Linux is flexible yes if you know how. Linux is easier than windows? In no fucking way - search a random person on the street and speak with normal people about this - every normal person will say that windows is easier. Nearly every person on this planet can handle easy things on windows, but not on linux. Install a driver on windows is only clicking on buttons - and on linux?

And when you are so a tough guy, why you don´t build your own small linux distribution with all needed stuff for AM?
I do the same with windows, and i will build my own linux based on ubuntu in the next months - i must learn more about linux - because it is so easy  Roll Eyes as you said

I don´t see a point to use the AM main application on Linux distributions. You say you are using an complete package Browser based - Browser based  Roll Eyes what a crap - if you working with big networks, it is always better to use server/client based applications and not this browser shit. Why nowadays all is browser based - this sucks - to much security leaks.

One of the biggest farms in the southern hemisphere? Hmm any proof? I don´t heard about you and you support mainly low cap coins, so this looks not so big.

Talk tough? ...

Not likely!

Positioned (as as SINGLE MINER) against the TOTAL HashRate Capacities of EquiHash Pools - number 9 for ZEN and Number 12 for ZEC.

Then again - no need for proof. We will just shift the hashrate as we see fit. As for the longevity I have in the CryptoIndustry AND the Legendary status here and on other Sites, along with the ONLY CryptoIndustry Company to have ASSETS based in Physical AND Virtual Places - I make My point quite astutely. Apart from the fact that My original Profession was IT NetWork And InfraStructure Engineer turned Consultant on an Eecutive Level - now CryptoTechnologist advisor and Deployment Consultant for some of the Largest Corporations AND Government bodies in Australia. But Hey - who am I to talk about a Windows to Windows Centric Professionals like yourself. Linux runs over 90% of the Worlds Serves, but it's SO HARD to setup as opposed to Windwos Servers - right?

There is an old saying - Never Argue with a Donkey. Silence is the best Policy because a Donkey will always follow the goal of being Right, rather than what IS right.

So I will stay silent now. Please - enjoy your victory on all your points, and how accurately portrayed they are on all levels.

I merely would like to see such Skill in Coding like AweSome Miner actually shows - on a DECENT Platform, rather than the flaky, unstable and hideously inept OS that Windows actually is. How do I know? I USED to be a Windows Certified Professional Engineer. Didn't I mention that? O OK. Apologies once again.

@patrike - apologies to you and all the others on the Thread for interrupting your flow wiht this superfluous and tedious argument over what can only be called a no win situation on My part. Please have My sincerest best wishes if you decide to delete it all if you feel the need to do so.

Never mind him, he tends to lash out at things he does not understand.
I found the HiveOS distro to work nicely with AM. I just had to putty in and install AM service on Linux and it ran pretty flawlessly for a long time( think it was about 6 months on some old and newer AMD cards). I can not speak for the stability today as I have sold all AMD cards and changed everything over to windows now. I also use the machines for rendering and non of the software I currently run works on Linux(or AMD).

Seems to be working as normal now.
The three nodes running the profile where I had to use a user defined miner are busy right now, so have to check that later.
I will update my reply as soon as I have confirmed them to also behave "normal" without the user defined miner.

Hi Patrike, after update to last version 9.0 i have now a problem with T-Rex Miner. Now AM choose a wrong miner software (choose first software from the list of activated software for profit profile) and not choosed T-Rex!!! Looks like update has changed indexes of mining software wich was used in version before. Big chaos now! I need to create a copy of T-Rex (user defined software) and put this for all rigs and for all algos where i use T-Rex. Dont know at the moment which other algos settings is affecting. Please help. Regards
Thanks for your report.

There will be a change for T-Rex dual mode in the next release to improve a few scenarios. I was however not able to find the issue you are describing here.

In your case - is T-Rex on top of the software list in the Profit Profile, but it still doesn't select T-Rex for a specific coin/pool (like ETH, ETC or RVN mining). Instead the profit switcher go for another software like Gminer to do the mining?
no, T-rex is not on the top of activated software in the list. (In my case the Bminer is on the top and will be choosed instead T-Rex)The settings of assigned software for algos or ordering of activated software was not changeg. All was like as before update to ver. 9.0  Now, after update, the T-Rex miner will be simple ignored, like the software not exist, but can be choosed and assigned for algo in Profit profile from the list.
But after creating a user defined version of T-Rex and assign to algos where T-Rex schould be used i was abble to use user defined T-Rex. If you not find a problem, i will send you a copy of config for invistigating. I am not allone, who affected from this bug. My friends now using same solution with user defined T-Rex till new fixed version will be relised.
Regards

Got the same issue on one of my profit profiles. But not affecting the other profit profile's. I have not bothered to track the reason down, making a userdefined miner fixed it for me to. This did not happen until the last update that has t-rex dual mining. I can also see that that profile shows dualmining "info" in the details view. Maybe it is a clue ?
https://i.imgur.com/sPhVyAp.png
This is not showing on the other profiles that does not have the issue.

Is there anyway to disable the dual mining on T-rex in awesomeminer ? I can not seem to find it.
It starts up on 2 pools even on my non LHR cards.

I see no way to enable zil in awesomeminer either.
Add ETH+ZIL mining mode with an arbitrary ETH pool (not proxying through a ZIL pool)
See ETH+ZIL *.bat/*.sh file in miner archive

Should we just make our own user defined miner with sett command's or am I missing something ?

Dual Mining Zil with AM is no problem, not suiteable but it is possible. I mine Zil since the first block with AM.

I did not say it is not possible, I have been dual mining it for a while. I am trying to saying there is not integrated way of doing it with awesomeminer + t-rex(seems like t-rex have a native function so you can stop using the shitty zilswitcher). At least I can not find any. Seems you have to make your own workaround.
But that is the the great part about awesome miner, you can pretty much accomplish whatever you want doing some api calls and scripting. In this instance you only have to make your own eth+zil algorithm and userdefined version of T-rex that has the added command line for zil. --extra-dag-epoch 0 --url2 stratum+tcp://eu.ezil.me:5555 --user2 YOURETHADRESSE.YOURZILADRESSE

But thanks you for the comment it was incredibly helpful to know that you have managed it...  Wink

For dual mining with LHR cards, although two pools are configured, T-Rex should automatically only spend hashrate on the second pool for LHR GPUs, while all non-LHR GPUs should have zero hashrate on the second pool.

It should be possible to disable the entire dual mining concept with the following command line argument:
--lhr-tune 0

May I ask if you are running a Managed Profit Miner (profit switching) when you experience this behavior?

I will look into the ZIL case as well and see how to support it in a good way.

Yeah , T-Rex is only mining on one pool on the non LHR cards. So not really a big problem

--lhr-tune 0 disables LHR unlock to, so not an option for me.     removing the "--lhr-algo autolykos2 --url2 stratum+tcp://autolykos.eu-north.nicehash.com:3390 --user2 39SENSOREDRXRPwhDprpdVzGb4eqY.XXX --pass2 x" part from the awesome-start.bat makes it do normal LHR stuff.
So maybe have a falgs for this or somthing ? dual on/off ?

I am running a Managed Profit Miner yes.
I made my own Userdefined t-rex miner to fix the problem and add zil mining as an interim.

Inn Options->Mining Settings there is an option to "Use Ctrl+C event for closing miner process" This does not seem to work anymore.

example T-rex : If you use any coreclock lock settings, they are not dropped. T-rex is not exited properly.
Instead of showing: Main loop finished. Cleaning up resources...
                               T-Rex finished.
It seems to just be killed. That means that when you fire up another miner , the core clock in t-rex still exists so oc in that application is all over the place.

If I remote inn to a miner and do Ctrl+C the core clock lock is dropped and the exit is done correctly.
Hope this is fixed easily, or maybe there is an workaround for this ?
Could this be related to that you run the T-Rex miner process as Administrator? In that case I think Windows will block you from sending Ctrl+C to the process.

You are right, had to enable adminmode to turn on coreclock lock. Damn it. Well the hunt for a workaround begins...
If your rig OS is Linux (dont know a Windows syntaxis), then you can simple use a "Batch commands" in Profit profile for each algo where you want set fixed core clocks. Work with any miners software. Commands like this:
Before start: sudo nvidia-smi -lgc 1545,1545
After stoping: sudo nvidia-smi -rgc
Enjoy

Perfect, same thing works in windows.
Enabling the api on t-rex and sending shutdown to it also worked. But then AM could not read any stats from t-rex. So this is better. Thanks Smiley

Hi.

I am trying to use API to stop and start miners, I am really new to this.

Trying to use curl like this:
curl.exe http://XXXX:17790/api/miners/28?action=stop

But when I do that I only get the summary response from the miner. What am I doing wrong here ?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Patrike,

Im getting this on latest version remote agent.
http://prntscr.com/nrm57r

I tried via "upgrade remote ..." in AM but it didn't work, so i tried manually
I even uninstalled previous version manually ( stopped service and uninstall ), but still no luck. I put manually install file in C:\Users\RIG5\AppData\Roaming\AwesomeMinerService\..... still nothing Smiley

Sorry if i missed answer to this somewhere.
thanks

you need to use a tool to remove it(Quote from patrike) :
The Awesome Miner installer is based on the Windows Installer concept, where the uninstallation requires Windows to keep track of the installed software. In case Windows is unable to perform an upgrade or uninstallation, please use this tool from Microsoft to force the removal.

awesomeminer adds a extra x16r when mining x16r , this causes the miner to fail.

this is what it looks like:
t-rex-0.6.10-win-cuda9.1_1\t-rex.exe  x16r -a x16r -o stratum+tcp://X16R.eu.nicehash.com:3366 -u xxxxxxxxxxxx -p x --api-bind-http 0.0.0.0:4028

You should probably check your config. AwesomeMiner will (most likely) not do that by itself.
Check your (user) command line parametres under Online Services and also under Managed Software.

The command lines I get in AM 5.6 are:
"[...]AppData\Local\AwesomeMiner\t-rex-0.6.10-win-cuda9.1_1\t-rex.exe" -a x16r -o stratum+tcp://x16r.eu.nicehash.com:3366 -u xxxxxxxxxxxx -p x --api-bind-http 0.0.0.0:4028

Man i am dumb. Your right, forgot i added it manually a long time ago. Thank you.

Any plans to support the new excavator ? seems to be the fastest at lyra2z also now.
No support for other pools than nicehas doh Sad
I've received a few requests for this one, so it will be supported later on. I'm however getting the impression that the Excavator miner isn't as popular to use these day, because it's limited to the Nicehash pool only like you point out.

Guess your right. But the only "pool" that actually pays what its supposed to is nicehash , and no fee miner that rocks every algo keeps me coming back.
"Threaded" alot on forums, reddit and other places. Tried a lot of different pools manually.
If you exclude the times you mine a "unknown" coin that moons. Nicehash pool seems to come ahead most of the time.
