Any special designs for girls? Smiley

That's a really good idea! I don't ever wear t-shirts. I prefer tank tops!

I like that shirt too! But the term "Plan B" reminds me of emergency birth control pills...
I wish this one came on a tank top

Hey guys, I'm wondering, what are some of the ways in which we could encourage more women to adopt bitcoin or other alternative currencies? I'm setting up a web magazine for women and I want to include practical bitcoin information. Then I wondered, what are the primary motivators for women to adopt bitcoin?

Firstly, if you aren't female then I strongly suggest that you find a woman that you can work with to do the research. There's a number of reasons for this, but foremost would be that a woman is much more likely to be able to empathise with and understand another woman's point of view without a tendency to be patronising.

Secondly, there's already tons of web sites and groups out there dedicated to providing Bitcoin information to women. There is also at least one magazine already. Are you sure that you are going to be providing something new? Would you do better working with one of these? e.g. https://www.facebook.com/womeninbitcoin

Finally, I suspect that the percentage of women in the Bitcoin community is actually a lot larger than the percentage of women in the bitcointalk.org community, so directing these questions to the above site, Reddit, others you can find by searching for "women in bitcoin" etc. may provide a lot better results. Here's the twitter accounts of some prominent women in Bitcoin:

https://twitter.com/scarrbondale
https://twitter.com/Anna_K_NonE
https://twitter.com/anjiecast
https://twitter.com/mrsbitcoin
https://twitter.com/TrueBitcoinGirl
https://twitter.com/etploshay
https://twitter.com/PerianneDC
https://twitter.com/crypt0queen
https://twitter.com/christinelu
https://twitter.com/BrittanyErstad
https://twitter.com/BitcoinBarbie

and so on…

Follow them and you will find a ton of women talking about Bitcoin. Ask them what they would be interested in.

Thanks for the info! I really appreciate it. I am a woman, and you are right - I realized after reading some of the comments that this wasn't the most effective place to post this question. But thanks again for the links, I'll check them out.

So I'd really like to know, what motivated you to start using bitcoin? Are you a male/female? Any suggestions you could give me to effectively promote and provide information about bitcoin? Thanks!

I found this the other day:

have you ever done a write up for beginners, esp. women? I'm setting up a web mag for women and looking for anyone that can do guest posts. But I need something targeted towards women, like "Start using bitcoins now! Easy peasy bitcoin guide for women" or "how to save money by using bitcoin"...something that could encourage more women to start using bitcoin or at least look into it more. If you have any services to offer in that area, I'd love to feature your website, as well.
