For some reason I can't take my eyes off this train wreck in progress. I am among the lucky who managed to salvage something through a refund (kudos to Minersource). Is there any other business where this level of incompetence can keep on trucking with customers still remaining, except in the world of crypto currencies?

wait he said, "~760gh and ~1400w EACH on 220v. " ...   isn't 220v double the wattage consumption as 110v??? Thats too much power being use just too much , ....Please explain.

No, we'd be dirt poor from paying from electricity in that case in the 220v part of the world.  Cheesy It's all transformed down to 12V. 1400W for each machine is pretty horrible performance for something that barely hovers above 700 Gh/s. Like 6+ months old tech bad. Sad

KNC can provide the entire hash-rate to their customers right now. They've chosen not to do so and directly compete with their customers.
This kind of business practice we're committed to root out. We have long catch up to do, but we are determined to turn the below into useless pile of junks (i.e. obsolete and below electrically break-even) by delivering on-time much more power efficient hardware.

Sounds very good! Let's hope it stays that way. Smiley Ironically KNC was pitching the same mentality and slogans last year, then they turned. Sad

I got 4 coming today or tomorrow. Got the tracking number.
Just had 2 delivered today and they are hashing away at full speed. Very impressed with the low (0.41 W/GH) power draw.
Ordered 5 of the 3TH/s models late last night and they just arrived this morning and are already hashing away!   Grin

Talk about speedy delivery and service.   Roll Eyes

No fair, April fools or not, some n00bs might read these posts and think they are actually shipping.

Reasonable point, that would be truly sad! Post edited accordingly. Smiley

That's the one thing that I haven't seen any mining hardware mfg do on their pre-orders,.. Lay it out like it is and say "Hey,.. without your amazing willingness to fund/support a new (risky) product,... We wouldn't be here,..so YOU deserve a reward,. for that alone if nothing else. But I guess I'm biased, I've run several startups and I give away the lion's share in order to fund the next big project every time, because I know it's the people who "take the leap" with you, that deserve a huge part of the credit for any/all success.

This is a very sensible way to go about business and one that is terribly lacking in the world of crypto currency. Call it business savvy, karma or whatever you want, but it is going to make your future business endeavours so much easier - and likely more fruitful too.

Can anyone else in the EU please confirm the declared value on recent orders? Thanks
Itching to pull the trigger on another order - waiting for S2 is killing me....

My last one, I had to pay UPS £75 (UKP) about a week ago...

Pretty much the same for me, 90-ish EUR.

are there any plans for accepting payment cards?

Wondering this also. It certainly would set another precedent for the competition to try and beat! Smiley

Well they both sold out first batches.. so I guess market is still pretty good for both offerings. Why would you drop the price if demand is good?

True that. Except a miner in May is not quite the same as one in March/April. But people will probably still buy they them since the are damn sexy.  Cool

Bitcoin Miners progress update – 21 March 2014

1. Global Foundries have finished the test wafers which were subsequently shipped to Amkor.
2. Amkor and VeriSilicon decided to redesign the substrate. This should be finished by tomorrow but there is no confirmation at the moment if a slight delay of few days will incur. As it stands we might still be able to keep on track for the tight schedule.
3. 5 case factories fitted our strict criteria and succeeded in making our shortlist. We will decide shortly which one(s) will be able to meet our high quality demands and meeting our aggressive deadlines. Payment was already made to cover the required samples.
4. We produced a prototype case for X1 which was made of steel. We are not planning to replace the original design but we came up with this as plan B in case in case the plastic mould won’t be finished on time for Batch1.
5. We have received the 1600 Watt PSU from Power-One, will test this week.
6. We have tested the hashboard sample and other PCBs we've produces so far in a laboratory environment. Despite the lab samples are not meeting all our design requirements to 100% we are happy to report that all perform properly. We are currently negotiating with our suppliers to increase the quality checks for producing much better quality boards.
7. We have tested the (under-spec) X1 hashboard PCBs and it can deliver 130Amperes. We were targeting 140Amperes but the problem appears to be in the coil not in the PCB. We’re getting new coils tomorrow for further testing. As a reference, VeriSilicon’s projected consumption is 100 Amperes in worst case scenario (high leakage) but we want to make sure that we can overclock the chip.
8. Finishing the boards takes longer than we’ve expected. For this reason we’re not sure if we have time to finish the 200Amperes board.
9. We have corrected several schematics and layout issues in the X1 hashboard and X1 backplane and started manufacturing the new samples
10. Following case review we have added a fan connector to the X3 hashboard. We haven't taped out the X3 hashboard yet as we will have to be sure that the X1 hashboard performs properly.
11. The control board boots Linux partially. There are some drivers missing or misconfigured and we need to fix some bugs in schematics. We're now reworking it to change the main connector and fix schematics bugs.
12. X3 backplane has not yet been finished due to modification of the control board.
13. We’ve started work on our Bitcoin/Litecoin pool.
14. We got the BTC refund document back from our solicitors. We are updating few legal and we should be able to release this as early as tomorrow.
15. BTC/LTC and PPC payment processor is now online, ready to process orders. Still making some cosmetic adjustments. It took longer than we’ve anticipated but we’re happy how it works.
16. Front End for the LTC chip is now stable. We’re starting the back end as soon as possible and we’re going to start pre-orders soon.
17. We’re looking into providing schematics as reference design for our ASIC in order to gather more interest from 3rd party manufacturers.

And to think what the status must have been for all these items back in Jan/Feb, just weeks before the initially announced delivery date? Or December?  Shocked

Absolutely he is, and all he brings is negative publicity.  Further his arrogant sociopath postings in this thread have now brought HF's troubles to the doorstep of Black Miner.

Yes, and with a screaming mob on the doorstep it is hard to get or weed out relevant information. Which should be about Black Miner in this thread. Smiley

Really? I'm using four RM850s powering two Ants each overclocked to 375, and they all are running flawlessly.

I've used the CX750 to run two Ants, RM850 to run two Ants, Antec HCG-900 to power two Ants, EVGA 1300G2 to power three Ants, and Rosewill RBR1000-M to power two Ants. I really haven't had a bad experience powering Ants.

The only PSU I was a bit uncomfortable running two Ants with was the CX750 because it was drawing 850 Watts at the wall, but the PSU worked for a week or two until I was able to replace it with a better PSU.

In my experience, Ants aren't that picky about which power supply you use as long as it's not a complete piece of crap.

That's interesting, I have to do some more testing then for sure, to see if something else is wrong. I have some various PSUs, including a few CX750 but have not dared to try 2 x Ant's on those. Are you using US source voltage or EU? Although I guess that really shouldn't matter...

If you get more Ants, you can save yourself some money and run two off of a RM850. The RM850 can easily handle two over clocked Ants, so a RM1000 is overkill.

Can the RM850 really easily handle to OCd Ants? Maybe I am PSU-cursed but my RM850 could not reliably run even two non-OCd Ants.  Sad

you are correct i can't find one lower then 200.

but with 3 of these what do I need it for.

 http://www.amazon.com/Fractal-Design-1000-Watt-Certified-FD-PSU-NT3W-1000W/dp/B009LHF5GM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1394815491&sr=8-3&keywords=fractal+design+newton+1000+watt

plain and simple dumb move to force that psu on us.  we purchased  lots of antminers from them and now  they want to stick us with  psu's many of us don't need.

and I want the new gear but I feel that the psu is a problem for me.

Slightly unrelated but I am not impressed with Fractal Design PSUs. I have a FD 1000W Gold Plus certified one and it can't even power 2 stock AntMiners.
