Well is it? I don't see the volume across the exchanges going down. The number of wallets isn't going down or stagnating. Merchants aren't pulling back. Everyone's just freaking out due to the nonexistant bubble. And traders with leveraged longs are starting to panic.
Yeah quite, no ones getting out en masse - and panic is good if anything, means people are at least still interested(!) and there's no reason to realistically expect a disastrous collapse blah blah.. if anyone suspects a loss of interest it's down to psychology - after a while, we all lose perspective of how significant something actually is i guess. BTC health definitely fine.

That looks pretty cool, glad to see stuff actually getting out there and being developed.... just dont get the name exactly, why cause potential confusion, even if cryptonite is just a preliminary name?

According to this info MM are members who signed market-maker contract and you must pay for the contract and to get some privileges.

We're already getting some boundary-pushing with transaction fees (I'm mostly referring to bitcoin here) with consumer-oriented moneymaking schemes like ATMs - some of them have a 7% commission going on, which is grim to see. So i hope that the future of crypto doesn't mean mass adoption being at the expense (literally) of the tiny fees which are currently its main selling point. No good having volatility AND fees like that being dished out!
7% commission isn't the transaction fee, that's a service charge, and that will go down if/when there is competition.
Yeah true not the currency trans fee, though it ends up all being part of using the actual currency if it goes big. but still such charges are erroneous imo, I'd hope competition decreases them to almost nothing.
Coins are here for bring innovation, and there is no innovation in changing some parameters and make an altcoin just for changing values - or even worse, by inputing some values in a site and pooping a new coin.

You are pretending there is no group of 2-10 friends out there that wants a coin just for them that might get big one day.
You don't think the coingen tag will prevent it from getting big anyway? It's like websites with "weebly" in the url lol.. just has such a stigma, whether warranted or not can't change anything sadly, in my opinion..

There are only 4 coins that I currently mine for, and all of them can be easily mined for using the mining Minegate(minergate.com).
MonetaVerde, Bytecoin, Ducknote, and Monero. Menero is today winner, for I'm mining for it right now. It's a toss up between Bytecoin, ducknote, and Monero. Currently I have 0.0066 btc value through Ducknote. 0.0013 btc value through Bytecoin.
I only choose MonetaVerde Coin base on it's newest, and the amount of coins I can get from it. Right now it's the same end value as FantomCoin.. but as I write this post the values are very so changing, I can't seem to keep up.

Perhaps the reason this wouldn't happen is because there's nothing in wrecking bitcoin for the super rich? 50million to do it maybe, but in destroying bitcoin's credibility, there'll be no value resulting from any dastardly deeds I'm pretty sure.
What if the obvious and financially strong enemies of Bitcoin (Banks, PayPal and likewise) do a 51% attack to save their own ass? They sure have got a hell to win if BTC loses credibility.
Would this not require some serious infiltration on the part of those entities? I'm really not sure how it could ever be orchestrated, let alone with the sheer number of nodes necessary to overpower the network before the others realise what's going on. And even if it does happen, that's some serious money laundering and probably wouldn't go unnoticed in court!

I doubt doge's going away, you gotta expect some lacklustre episodes here and there it's only rational. does not matter about the future of any Cnote coin now, as the multipool rape is in the works and soon enough it will be game over and will follow the same paths as all the other algos. raped and dumped daily.
I wasn't aware that it was game over for all other algos already - many are doing fine (and have been around longer than 5 minutes). At any rate, the technology behind these two coins i don't think will just die because of whatever fluctuations are seen in its currencies in the short term.
This threat seems very, very likely at some point. The cost of an attack wouldn't actually be that much to pull off. Even a short term (i.e. much cheaper) attack could completely destabilize the faith people have in Bitcoin.

I think I've heard/read the name Ducknote once and Monero is so far the number 1 Cryptonote coin out there.
So I would say Monero for now, the coin has a great community, great devs, no premine/instamine, good distribution and quite a lot of haters here as you might have seen in this subforum.
It's already pretty popular even without an official GUI wallet and therefore hard to use for the average Joe. A lot of haters talk about the blockchain bloat but in my opinion it isn't a big issue because it simply isn't, also in the future people will use light wallets anyways.
And IIRC blockchain bloat is already reduced quite a lot and will be reduced more in the near future.

Yeah i've seen a lot from the monero community (both good and bad but in general enthusiasm) - I think this alone ensures there's momentum enough to iron out any sticking points like the bloat. Plus as you say, a bloat is not like a 100% premine, so not point in worrying about it fundamentally.
As for ducknote, it's interesting you haven't heard anything much about it - the community seems pretty enthusiastic too, not to mention somewhat better natured in discussions here than some posters in the monero threads. I've compared the spec from ducknote and monero, but arrived at the conclusion that each is pretty stable long-term... am I missing something do you think?

so I was wondering, having read a lot about cryptonote recently, whether there's a discussion to be had about ducknote and its pros and cons vs monero? Other debates seem pretty tortuous resulting in flame wars, and I don't want to go down that road, but since ducknote is a promising fork, I was wondering out of interest how it shapes up in the XMR camp? What do you think the long-term holds for them both? I don't especially mean seeing which one's better or worse, just where each excels (and of course if i should buy in big now or not...) Thoughts please!
