Re: [ANN][BITS][Bitstar] POS v3 - Bitstar v2.5 now live on Barterdex exchange

Cryptopia have now replied, they have said deposit and withdrawals now work, market is also live once again

Hi,
Depositing on Cryptopia still has problem, can not deposit
Can not check the info of withdrawal from this website:
http://explorer.v2.bitstarcoin.com/search
Please support to check this issue so that I can receive my coin

Thanks

I can confirm that deposits to Cryptopia DOES work with the current wallet, so most likely you are trying to send coins from the old wallet (pre-fork) or from YoBit who never upgraded and is thus also on the old chain of BitStar. So the question is - where do you have your BitStar coins?

Hello ! Have the same problem! I have sent my coins from Youbit to Cryptopia and have no answer! Can't check t in blockchain !  2018-06-13 16:54:48
1142.91430176 BITS   4e30372e08f5575859b29d26a08d5636dc3bf81e620d441ee4493d18bc10ad6dP
Please help!

YoBit has to-date completely ignored our attempts to get them to upgrade their wallet. (It appears they may only do this for an outrageous fee.) So we did our best to inform everyone to withdraw their BITS from YoBit before the hard fork/wallet upgrade. At this point, "BitStar" on YoBit is still running an old fork, which will no longer be supported (the fork was necessary to do all the new features being worked on - see roadmap) and is incompatible with the current wallet and Cryptopia (who has upgraded). In retrospect it would have been wiser to never have worked to get listed on YoBit in the first place.  Embarrassed

"About 17 thousand compromised GPON routers, infected with the Satori botnet, are now scanning port 3333 to find publicly exposed Ethereum mining rigs running the Claymore Dual Miner software for which a publicly known remote execution vulnerability exists. Once the attacker identifies an Ethereum miner running the Claymore software they push instructions to reconfigure the device to join the 'dwarfpool' mining pool and use the attacker's Ethereum wallet."

Assuming this has been fixed, which version of the Claymore miner has the fix?

Did some poor sap seriously pay 10,000 BTC for 1 IPBC?! Can you say, "support ticket"?  Cheesy

It completely ruins the scale too, making everything look flat since.

So using new 1.0.4 wallet, but it won't synchronize. Says "Warning last block was received 4 hours 3 minutes ago". It'll get a connection, start to sync, then drop the connection. It was working perfectly for days, so I'm not sure what happened.

You may need to delete the downloaded blockchain data and do a full resync of the wallet.

Working on that now...

Re: CoinTracking - Profit/Loss Portfolio and Tax Reporting for Digital Currencies
by

on 17/02/2018, 19:24:36 UTC
I'm really, really struggling with this service. It came highly recommended, and is supposed to make taxes easy, but I can't even get my data in right. I have four years of mining/trading (mostly mining) to import and I can't seem to do it. The single biggest problem is that I need to be able to import thousands of mining transactions using a the standard core wallet CSV export and there doesn't seem to be any way to do it.

The custom exchange import could work if there was some way to tell the service that this is mining income and it needs to lookup the average daily price automatically, but there's no way to do that. It's only built for buying and selling on exchanges. In fact the whole service seems to be built around trading, not mining, which is driving me crazy. I already paid for two years of unlimited, and I desperately need the coin tracking and tax services offered, but I can't get my data correct!! Can't import wallet info, exchange API imports are leaving me with wrong balances, etc. In short it's a nightmare. I seriously don't know what to do and they won't/can't answer support questions in a timely matter. April 17th is fast approaching and I'm going to be screwed.

what kind of content is allowed to be uploaded to your site? what's your take on warez/music/cracking methods, or porn. I wanted to start an account but I'd like an idea first.

when you are the copyright owner or have the rights to upload, then you can upload what ever you like, there is even a adult categorie.

when you upload stuff and you have not the rights, the content will be taked down in case of a claim.

How is this decentralized at all or support freedom of speech if content is taken down in accordance with US copyright claims?

the content can't be deleted, what i mean.. we will take it down (the url on ipbc.io), the ipfs hash will still exist and can be viewed with a ipfs daemon or gateway.

Oh okay, then another UI could potentially be made to view it.  I see, I understand the value, but unfortunately that brings the next question:  How would one stop this project from being used for the storage of things like child porn?  This question seems to come up a lot in any project that involves digital content storage.

As I understand it, the actual data is stored on the IPFS network, which does not include the ability to delete data. As long as someone has the hash, and someone has a node hosting that content on IPFS network then it exists and could be accessed by anyone with the hash. Since IPBC is built on top of the IPFS network, that is beyond the scope of this particular project. What IPBC is doing is creating a search engine for IPFS content and linking it to copyright claims and an IPBC wallet address.

So if someone uploaded illegal content like child pornography, users of IPBC can flag that, and then IPBC can remove it from it's search engine. It would be similar to someone hosting child pornography on a server, and Google showing that content via search until it is reported, in which case Google removes it from it's search engine. So the content still exists on that server but is sort of "invisible". As for truly removing the content from the IPFS network, that's not something IPBC can do, so you'd have to research what means IPFS has to remove illegal content. I'm assuming that nodes can decide not to carry content who's hash has been blacklisted, but I'm not sure of that. If there is (or is soon going to be) as system like that in place then IPBC could of course pass along what was reported to the IPFS network.

Re: [PRE-ANN][BITS][Bitstar] Version 2 of our chain and wallet with auto swap

on 25/01/2018, 23:25:47 UTC
Despite our best efforts, YoBit has thus far not responded to us regarding the coin swap. We will continue to reach out to them, but for the time being the only advice we can offer is to withdraw your BITS from YoBit to your own local BitStar Wallet before the swap, so that you won't lose your BitStar coins. For Windows you can download the current version of the wallet here: https://mega.co.nz/#!lMU3WQ6C!CUq9wM-9jUq0aYMjwRd1QPI-H5U0xO-ElebNXa1jEck

And then you can use the new FastStart pack to get synchronized quickly: http://www.mediafire.com/file/8oyb03xsvbktx7a/Bitstar_v1_windows_faststart_25-01-2018.zip

Slack has enabled two-step authentication obligatory, you need to register your cellphone number(or install an app) to log in.

This was necessary to get rid of spamming.

BITS was on bittrex ? I thought it only was on polo
It was dlisted. Because the trading was too low..both on poloniex and bittrex

Trade volume on Polo was much higher than on Bittrex at the time actually, and because of some weird pump, was very high before the delisting announcement on Polo. Bittrex delisted BITS because of low volume, but Polo has never given any reason for the decision to delist.

Yes it was on both Bittrex and Polo earlier. We still don’t know why it was removed on Polo. We assume Bittrex removed it because at the time all the volume was on Polo. Sad really because if Polo has delisted first, volume could have moved to Bittrex and we might still be listed there. Of course we can be listed again, but the project has to hit certain milestones first.

BITS on https://bittrex.com/status , it's our bitstar or not ?

Searching for BITS it looks like they are still running the current wallet. I imagine that’s so customers can still withdraw their funds.

Removed old files and copy old folder completely. After redownload it downloaded all files. It is up to date. But i dont see my coins in my wallet. I replaced wallet.dat to new folder. I can see all transactions but account balance is 0. May be i should wait a little to see. Lets wait.

I would use "repairwallet" (no quotes) in the debug screen to have it re-scan the blockchain now that it's up-to-date.

Thanks for your help.My account balance is better now. But still some transactions are missing. When i check in transactions i see "Generated but not accepted mined" in some transactions. Some of them is like that some of them is mined. How can i solve this ? Now should i wait ?

That’s normal. Not all Proof of Stake blocks are accepted because someone beat you to the answer (I’m oversimplifying, but that’s the basic idea) so some will show as rejected. Nothing to worry about.

Hi guys, how many coins do you need to stake weekly?

Cheers

It's a combination of how many you have and how long you've had them (under the current system that is - the new wallet takes a different approach) so there's not really a numerical minimum, per say. The combination of how many coins you have and how long since they were last used to stake creates your network "weight" which is then compared with the weight of others on the network, and basically you end up queuing up for your chance to stake and get a reward. Also keep in mind when you stake, a portion of your coins are used for the purpose each time, not all of them at once.

Firstly i dont have bitstar.conf file in bitstar folder. I create a new text and paste the addnodes in text editor than renamed the file. But it didnt solve my problem. Is it normal not to have conf file ? I havent tried second option. First i want to know if there is something else with my file.

Is there any problem with wallet ? It doesnt sync. Is it related with me ?

Hi! There is not any problem with wallet. There are few things you can try. Firstly add to %appdata%\bitstar\bitstar.conf file following lines:

addnode=164.132.19.178:62123
addnode=217.182.170.173:62123
addnode=109.169.71.17:62123
addnode=86.61.6.123:62123
addnode=223.134.230.204:62123
addnode=79.137.126.63:62123
addnode=172.116.88.221:6212

These are nodes that are  connected to cryptopia exchange bitstar wallet.

Secondly if your syncing takes long time you may consider using fast start pack from last april provided by bitstardev.

http://www.mediafire.com/file/b844l1i7541wgb5/Bitstar_win_faststart_0417.zip

remove everything else but wallet.dat and bitstar.conf from %appdata%\bitstar\. You should take backup copies both of wallet.dat and bitstar.conf.

after that unpack faststart pack into %appdata%\bitstar\

after that restart wallet.

I hope these steps helps you.

Yes the Bitstar.conf file isn't created by default, so you have to create it yourself. The easiest way to do that (on Windows) is to open NotePad and paste in the addnode lines above, then when you save it put quotation marks around the filename like so: "bitstar.conf" That will force the exact filename in quotes to be used, so you won't end up with the ".txt" extension at the end.
