I get this now with my MN:

Warning: Your masternode version (120100) is behind the official version (120102). This is from DASHcentral.

I am running 12.1 so do I need to upgrade again. I just updated last week...??

and go through the update procedure and reset my time and loose rewards etc.

I don't run any on dashcentral. Do you run your remote node (vps) there? It should be taken care of by them. You don't have to start-alias your mn from local. It's simple update and you won't lose your rewards.

No, I run my own on a VPS, I just use Dashcentral to monitor the MN. So, is it just a matter of replacing the dashd on the server? what about sentinel?

Now that Trezor has added support for DASH I would like to move a masternode collateral and the 1000 DASH over to the Trezor wallet from the desktop wallet. Has anyone done that and what do I need to update?

MN support for Trezor (as well as other HW wallets) will be available with the release of 12.1 on Feb. 5. I assume further instructions will be available at that time.

I have updated MNs to 12.1 and I am running the DASH desktop wallet with the collateral, but I would like to move the collateral to a Trezor device now that they have support for DASH. Will there be any instructions for that?

12.1 Update Instructions
- Read Me -

Update instructions for General Users
https://dashpay.atlassian.net/wiki/x/sZAxBg

Update instructions for Masternode Operators
https://dashpay.atlassian.net/wiki/x/HJQ4Bg

http://i.imgur.com/2DAmJrg.png

Superb instructions. Thanks!

My wallet didn't quite follow the script but things turned out fine (I think).

The script said:

step 6) launch the wallet, choose "YES" I want to rebuild the block index

12.1 uses a different indexing format so must walk the entire blockchain.
step 7) take a break, grab a sandwich, enjoy some sun

this can take anywhere from 3 to 4 hours depending on your machine
once complete, enjoy your new upgrades!

----

The button actually says "OK" not "YES" (hair-splitting), and in my case the wallet crashed almost immediately after that with one of those unhelpful Windows messages "an error has occurred" (and we know what it was but we won't tell you).        Wink

I restarted the wallet and it seemed to sync up fine on its own in only about half an hour! Balance and transactions look normal.

Very nice!

I have used the updated instructions and still get the same error in reading the mncache.dat file. I have deleted all the .dat files except the wallet.dat and I still get the error.
"Failed to load masternode cache from mncache.dat"
I had the same. You have to delete mncache.dat and mnpayments.dat in the DashCore folder then start the wallet again.

Thats what I did, I have deleted ALL the .dat files (except wallet.dat) and I still get the same error again and again.
"Failed to load masternode cache from mncache.dat"

Check you are not deleting them from the old .dash folder by accident, instead of the new .dashcore folder ?

Yes, I am sure:

http://i.imgur.com/6OnanWw.png

the DashCore folder contains the files as you can see above.

Then I get this:

Let me correct you. The "thin" mode in Umbra has been disabled due to upgrade to PoSv3 ... It was not a priority and thus will be redesigned inline with PoSv3 in the coming months.

I have followed this discussion and wanted to add that one of your own @kewde stated when I spoke to him about the code, that the 'thin' mode in SDC was broken:

http://i.imgur.com/EIFec6I.png

And I just told you the reason. When we upgraded to PoSv3 we decided that there was a much better way to have "thin mode" nodes inline with our future design plans and thus it will not be upgraded as part of PoSv3 but instead later.

I know you are the 'source' but your people @kewde used the word 'broken' and not 'disabled'. Come off your high horse and admit that you do not know everything. SPEC has done what nobody else has done and cloned your code and they are about to make it better and you are just pissed off...

now comes the spectrecoin spam now that they sold it to themselves for about 82 sats each. They try to pump it to 10000's of sats.

Nah, just clone it and do a proper advertised ICO or POW it.

These non advertised scams need to be pariahs. Mostly the dev and 10 other people buy it all up for nothing and then try to pump on the main board.

Where was the spectre coin vs shadow comparison threads before the ico or during?

Where was the spectre coin sig campaign before or during.

Its a simple clone a coin sell it all off for micro cents to a handful of people then do the marketing to drive price and manipulate that market.

The signature campaign is (was) here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1718571.new#new
The comparison was always on the Spectre website: https://spectreproject.io/

cryptohunter should do some homework. This was advertised both here, on Twitter and escrowed by OgNasty but people are scared of change and they had to face endless trolling but they are working through it

oh, and then there was the Twitter campaign: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1680832.0

and the press releases

ED again:
and the ICO news sites such as: http://www.iconews.org/spectrecoin-start-ico/ and others

Saying that Spectre was not advertised just shows how bad you are at research cryptohunter

This is a joke right? Shadowcash was deanonymized by xmr dev in one day because sdc devs don't know first thing about how ring signatures work. Tor is also poor privacy network, which is why xmr is including i2p integration instead. zeroknowledge proofs are a bad thing in crypto because they are a trusted-setup technical failure. "SPEC is the most private and anonymous cryptocurrency network today." - this is quite a statement with zero technical reasoning.

They didn't pretend to know anything about monero's tech. SDC was an embarrassment stemming from ccex basement. As far as I remember, it was an ICO by Chumbium Gerald, the guy known for his shady affairs with counterfeiting chips for motorola cell phones. Aside from that, he has trolled random people in his hometown multiple time since he moved in to underground neighborhood. I can shred a little light on it and tell u what he has done. He has stopped strangers on the street and screamed next to their ears.

I think this is a thread for Spectre and not SDC? sulfurtank, you are in the wrong thread.

We already have Monero for "anonymous currency with ring signatures". Isn't this a little redundant? Or is there a significant difference between the two coins that I'm not seeing here.

I think competition is great and it might keep devs on their toes and feet and try to make things better. Isn't your statement a bit like saying, "oh, we have BMW so we don't need Mercedes". Why should consumers settle for one brand when someone else might improve on the the concept. Free market and competition is healthy, so go SPEC and prove them wrong...

There are two coins out there now with the same technology, the same anonymity and the same features but it seems with two different directions for the future.

On the one hand there is SDC with a supply of 6,962,517 SDC and a current price of 0.0021 BTC
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=745352.0

Then there is SPEC with a supply of 20,008,512 SPEC and a current price of 0.000030 BTC
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1704473.0

SDC appears to focus on the market function and SPEC seems to focus on greater anonymity.

SDC is 70 times more expensive than SPEC with the same tech. Are there any other SDC clones out there and what do you think will happen when SPEC hits Bittrex etc. and becomes more known?

How do I run the wallet in lite mode?

I checked the box "thin mode" under the options tab, then I restarted the wallet. This didn't work though, and now the wallet is stuck syncing at 0% and no transactions are coming in.

Whether its thin or tight, it would not run. Could the thinness of SDC wallet change the fact that substandard quality of gui interface poses a treat to stability of SDC price. If u stay here any longer u will get fed with UMBRA hype and involuntarily coerced into buying of this shit on the open market which u cant feel happy with.

Has this been run through google translate or am I talking to a bot?

Your point is to try and attack one of the most beautifully crafted cryto GUI available?

Please post pictures of the Umbra wallet and give us your critique

The 'thin' wallet of SDC doesn't work.

Also, I have an interesting point. Let's say you want to pay someone for something and he provides a SDC stealth address. You then copy and paste the stealth address into your wallet and you pay, say 100 SDC for something using this stealth address. The stealth address generates a normal address to send to and the sender address also appears as a normal address. The actual stealth address you used is not recorded in the blockchain and it is not recorded in your wallets transaction history and it's not recorded anywhere. This is all well and good. Let's say that the seller says (maybe maliciously) "I never received the payment from you, you must have entered the wrong stealth address". You quietly panic and try to find proof of the transaction. It seems that you can not prove that you made a payment to a certain stealth address. The payment you made with the stealth address is not recorded anywhere, not in the blockchain and not in your wallet and there is no way for you to prove the payment like with, say, Bitcoin. All that appears are two newly generated normal addresses and there is no way to correlate the normal address to the stealth address you sent to. You have two options, send the payment again or loose your SDC and walk away.

Wish I had an SDC for every clueless newbie that bothered to post nonsense on this forum. But as I have said many times, it never fails that the losers show up just before the price spikes.  Grin

Thanks man!

Shadowcoin   1.7656 USD   11,686,000 USD   6,618,700   74,136 USD   + 28.19 %

You didn't answer the question though. How do you prove that you sent X SDC to stealth address: smY.....................xx if the intended recipient denies having received the payment. There is no trace of the stealth address in the block explorer to refer back to and not in your wallet transactions either. This is a genuine question. Is this why exchanges like Poloniex only uses 'normal' deposit addresses for SDC and not stealth? Because if there was a dispute you can't prove the transactions as it's unlinked. That is the point isn't it? So, with XMR there is a key that can be used / payment ID that can be shared for the purpose of audit so that a dispute can be settled between the seller / buyer.

https://imgur.com/gQlj9Oy

It's not FUD but a genuine question. How do you prove that you sent to a certain stealth address? I suggest that you can't prove it, hence the exchanges uses 'normal' addresses and so you will need to use 'normal' addresses for trade as well for transparency as there is no audit system with a peyment ID as is the case with XMR.

So, the trust-less system isn't trust-less after all if you use stealth addresses, you will need to trust the recipient not to lie and say he didn't receive the payment.
