lol. Stop posting and keeping this thread alive :p

A more neutral opinion: All coins, be it BTC and BCH have its on merit. As long as the developers behind it are noble and active. The coin will survive.

That is right. The BTC has one development team and BCH has more than 4. Both are good.

. ASICs are great at this and unless devs do something to dennounce them, ASICs will take over the entire crypto-mining scene.

IDk if FPGAs are stoppable, asic resistance seems kinda pointless atm IMO

Then we shall develop the FPGA resistant PoW.

Re: Best GPU's For Mining?
by

on 27/03/2018, 07:08:22 UTC
here are the list of all GPU that best for mining XMR and other coins.

1. Sapphire RX 580 8GB GDDR5 - A single card manages around up to 670 H/s. Not only best for XMR mining but in other coins as well.

2. Nvidia GTX 1080ti 11GB GDDR5 - Nvidia GTX 1080ti is certainly one of the most competent GPUs for mining. With this card you can generate up to 1000 H/s in a single card.

3. AMD HD 7990 6GB DDR5 - although its a older version of RX series it is a best alternative GPUs for mining for the 1st two card.

4. AMD RX Vega 56 8GB HBM2 - with this single card it can generate up to 1800 H/s.

5. Sapphire Radeon Pro Duo 8GB HBM - it can generate up to 1600 H/s.

Will the 7990 good for the new PoW XMR algorithm?

Re: 8 card limit on Windows is Removed!

Just wanted to Verify!

Ive heard some rumors that its now possible to use more than 8 cards on Windows 10 systems, so shutdown my rigs and mixed up one with 10 Nvidia cards, thats now doing rock solid on all 10!  The 1709 Update fixes this limit.

Can anyone confirm what the limit is now?
Can anyone confirm that its the same for AMD cards? I Don`t have enough cards to verify this at the moment.

https://preview.ibb.co/hvPrMR/10nvidia.png

There is no 8 GPU limit for nVidia. It is for AMD only.

Vega is developed for much thinks, but for mining no.
They want to have in stock GPUs for gamers.

So Vega is not for mining?

If you have free electricity, a big budget, and some nice PSU's , Vega is great for mining.

I think Vega is still worse than 1080Ti.

Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v12.5 (Windows/Linux)

What is the recommended processor for mining rigs these days? I have way over powered ones in my older rigs and appreciate suggestions on an intel cpu that will be enough now and going forward.

Cheapest dual-core Celeron with low power usage you can find is plenty for a mining rig, with VERY RARE exceptions.
I'd even say "single-core" but I don't remember the last time I saw a new single-core CPU for sale, don't think anyone makes them any more.
I've got a 3 card R9 290 rig mining ETH on a machine with a Sempron 145 and the only time I notice that the CPU is slow is when it's doing DAG files (LINUX, but I could never get genoil to compile on that machine so it's still running qtminer and rock solid about it - later testing of genoil vs qtminer on a different machine didn't show a significant speed difference anyway, just faster DAG file generation but HAVE to redo the DAG file on every boot).

More than around 300 h/s on a R9 280x seems to require a BIOS mod, as 300 is the best I've managed out of my pair with 1100/1250 (my cards won't do 1500 memory clock at all, and anything other than 1250 gave lower hashrate).
Gigabyte Windforce cards (3 fan versions) running 12.4

I think the 280X is only good for ZEC mining now.

by

I tried on Tahiti and Pitcarin cards miner versions 12.3 and 12.4. Speed is 2-3% more on 12.4, but 12.3 and 12.4 not stable neither lowing intansity not using an "-old 1" option. Different versions of drivers not stabilize 12.3 and 12.4 miners too.
Version 12.2 is the most stable version for GCN1 cards with any intansity or drivers, but slower than 12.4 version.

Claymore, would you make a new version with speed of 12.4 and stability of 12.2?

I think you can reduce the speed of the GPU.

Inflation is a big risk and a challenge for every savings strategy pensiun.Benar Bitcoin is an effective tool for reducing the risk of inflation, because production will not exceed more than 21 million Bitcoins, Perhaps this number will be reached in the year 2140 when the last bitcoin will be generated. Perhaps this will encourage the creation of new investment vehicles retired.

I think the value of the bitcoin will rise as the inflation rises. It will rise faster than the inflation.

I love it so much and people around here always offer us some job to do. And if we are good enough, we can apply to an online business and It will bring much profit and money to you. Keep calm and using cryptos Cheesy

Re: Bitcoin will touch 1200$ in January 2017
by

on 02/01/2017, 16:59:12 UTC
What's the point of the poll? No, na, na :? Do you want to say that its just 'impossible' for BTC to reach 1200$ within this month, then no its not completely impossible it can and it can very easily but most likely it won't. If you look at the price graph of bitcoin over several years after every big rise there was a fall of equal magnitude.

Yes, I agree with you. The poll is useless and also a pump (not a common rise) is always associated with a fall following it. I think we'd better retract at 800$ than reaching 2000$ and falling like crap to 600$ or even lower and damage Bitcoin's image for a while.

That is right. It is better for the price to rise slowly, say 10% a month.

you can show this too :

https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/#/equipment

for me, the best choice is sapphire nitro rx470 8gb.
it's cheap, consume is very low.
with zcash gpuz and hwinfo show 70W, with eth 100W, with anorak's ps mod bios.

Sapphire is my primary go-to brand, but the Nitro is overpriced for the performance on mining.
 I just wish their blower-type RX 470 model wasn't a backplate design.

For mining, it is better to use the cheap brand and unvolt or under clock. It is not profitable without underclocking now.

Re: Best GPU's For Mining?

I'm good with my XFX RX 480 8 GB cards. 3 GPU's mining at 80 Mh/s overall with 60 W power draw of each according to GPU-Z (of course I know that it's far from being accurate). Not much of overclocking done because I don't want my any of the GPU's to die or to lower the life duration.

You are doing okay and I think that is pretty nice, you also should not overclock it because it can get you into trouble and its also that its really lowers the life duration significantly.
These cards are by the way pretty powerful so that is nice.

What is to get into trouble for overclocking? If it doesn't work revert, it not like the overclocking police are going to come to your house, lol.

Also, it is not the overclocking that will lower a devices lifespan, it is the heat and/or too much voltage. If you can overclock a little, and in many cases with the BIOS mods, under-volt at the same time, you will not only lower the voltages going through your card, you will significantly lower the heat being generated thus prolonging the lifespan of your card.

As with all things moderation is the key, but for me I can pull a fresh RX 470 out of the box and get 22-23 MHash/s out of it with it reading about 70-80 Watts on GPUz and ~120 W at the wall. I can apply a simple BIOS mod, lower the default GPU clock, increase the memory clock, and reduce voltages a bit and up my hashrate to ~27-28 MHash/s while at the same time reducing my GPUz reading to around 50-60W and at the wall to under 100 W.

There is nothing wrong, illegal, or immoral about this. It is simply re-tuning the GPU for a different purpose (mining) than what it was tuned for at the factory (gaming). Considering these cards have the lowest common denominator for settings so that the absolute worst binned part will perform ok, in most cases there are significant improvements to be made over factory defaults.

Overclocking done right can give the most performance out of the cards. At the same time if one is not good at overclocking, it is best to leave it alone. I am totally new to overclocking GPUs safely. Do you have any good tutorials or links to good videos to start with? I am sure experience is the best teacher, but I don't want to burn any GPUs trying to overclocking it especially  when I can take good advises from the experts in bct.

You are right. But the mining profitability is not so high now. So if you pay high electricity cost, it is better to downclock.

How to earn money with bitcoin ?
How I earn money with Bitcoin is pretty simple because the only thing that I do is buying them with my own money when the price is not to high for me.
Then I wait a bit for the price to rise again and then I am just selling them for more then I have bought for.

If you already have the bitcoin, you can just hold the most and use some to help the community.

To earn money with bitcoin takes a lot of patience.
For me I earn with bitcoin through trading altcoins.
In trading it takes a lot of patience though you must
be wise in buying. Also, I earn in gambling site, but played
wisely.!

Patience is very important in the altcoin trading. If you bought the Monero or Etheruem last year, you are rich.

Hard work. I am not really trying to reach the rich part. But the very least I could do is have some money that could provide for my necessities a little for my savings and more for my investment. With that I could live. I dont want to be so much busy that I might forget where I am really rich at. Family and friends.

Well faith in humanity restored. That is what I am thinking when I become already rich for sure I'm going to change my attitude.

But I'm praying to God that when He make me a rich person still don't remove my attitude for being an humble person.

Because that is why God made me rich for humble and it can happen to all of us. Hard work, be humble and keep on trusting God.

The gold price will just rise as the inflation. It cannot beat the inflation too much as the supply is almost unlimited.

You can earn your income here in bctalk or in trading there is many way to do earn money in bitcoin. Earn your income then if enough for you then convert it into cash. Or you can earn them to your wallet and wait the bitcoin rise for you to get extra income. Thats  the easy way to earn money in bitcoin.

I think trading is a good way to earn some bitcoin. But you have to be very careful. You cannot trade scam coins.

It is end of July 2016 now. The price has been firmly above $400 for the last three months. I think the bottom is $600 now.
we haven't yet seen where the new bottom is. let us wait till the next correction and then we will see when it stops and what is the new bottom after halving.
the new bottom is 550 dollars, the price cannot go any more lower, to be honest in my opinion as we tested the lowest prices it should go up a lot soon

I do not think so. If there is no good news about the bitcoin, the price could trade around $550 for the next 6 months.

That is right. The price will not be higher until the release of the next Core Client.

It might rise to $600 after the market accepts the new SegWit.

The next catalyst for the price rise will be the SegWit and the increase of the block size. There are no other news for the price rise.

If everyone will keep on holding their coins without spending then how can you expect higher price of bitcoin? You should play with it regularly to earn regular profits.

If we hold the coins only and do not spend the coins, it means the coins are useless, so it is also valueless.
