I am also holding my Bitcoins for a long term. Bought them around 6000USD Cheesy

I am sure Bitcoin will have a great ATH real soon also considering the clogged mempool...
This "coin" is pretty well known and standing very well. I do thrust it a lot.
I do not believe it will even have a huge dip like many "professionals" say so.

I'm very pleased because Bitcoin is rising again. Going to buy a "Terminator 2 Pinbal machine" next month with my profit. Thanks a lot Bitcoin Kiss

All these possible forks are quite confusing for a newbie Smiley

What wallet is best to hold your Bitcoin in, so you get the new coin?

Is Bread wallet good?

I am wondering the same thing. Not much information is available yet.

Hey to all of you...

There is a another hard fork coming on it's way at the 17th of December, which will create a new coin, called "Super Bitcoin".
So I do believe Bitcoin won't reach 15000USD till the end of this year, it will float around 10-11000USD I think.
I do also believe it might drop a bit due people cashing out to buy presents etc. What are your opinions?
I have invested a huge amount 2 weeks ago and I am very pleased with my current profit. I'm a long term investor, not a trader.
Thats a good news but can you please paste the links about that "SUPER BITCOIN"  here in your topic to avoid spammers if you dont mind.  And also we cannot predict mate cause the growth rate of bitcoin keep climbing.  .maybe it will jump again to 12k until reach and touch down 15k before end of 2017. And bitcoin drop is always happened because of its volatility which is when some of the bitcoin holders release  their profit. Perhaps that is the common reason why bitcoin decreasing.  So ithink we cannot predict what will happened on its valued every time.

Where to see that bitcoin will be the hardfork on december 17?
I do not see any news about this. I am not sure that bitcoin will do hardfork again.

I have added 2 links to my first post Wink

I am using the program "Bitcoin Core" to store my coins, but I was wondering how to collect the new "Super Bitcoin"? I suppose "Bitcoin Core" will not support this new crypto, so I am looking for a good software wallet.
The Super Bitcoin developers should announce which wallets or exchanges will support their coin. Which ever you use, remember to have access to your private keys. I assume (but it's only an assumption) that Bitcoin Core would allow anyone to claim the forked coin because this is the original Bitcoin wallet.

Do installing another wallet requires to re-download the whole blockchain once again?

No.

You only download the blockchain when you install the Bitcoin Core. You're essentially running a node, you're part of the blockchain network, when you work with Bitcoin Core.

Well I was wondering the same thing about Bitcoin Core. I cannot find any information about it tho. I'm very curious how the things will work out.
How does the other wallet "knows" either I have the complete blockchain? Do I have to fill in the path of the blockchain folder which Bitcoin Core is using?

I don't think this fork will have any effect on bitcoin price.
Bitcoin went through many forks and after each one it become  even stronger. Many forks will happen soon each one of them has a ridiculous name
which proves that it will fail, thus, you don't have to worry since your investment will be safe.

I think bitcoin core wallet is OK and you will be able to collect your super coins after the fork. Iwill tell you if I find any more information;

Thanks, much appreciated!

yes and yes - in short.

The Bitcoin Core will not support the new coins, but a resonable expectation from Super Bitcoin devs is that they will provide their own fork of the Core software too. If they do, and when they do, all you need to do is copy your wallet.dat (it cointains your private keys) to that new software folder and redownload the new blockchain. It should give you access to your super bitcoins.

The word of caution, though: before you send out any super bitcoins (or bitcoins) make sure that the replay protection is implemented in super bitcoin. You don't want to be sending out both of your coins!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but those "Super Bitcoins" are implemented in my wallet.dat file, no matter what? I can access them later if I ever find out how to  Grin

Hail!

I'm a newbie with all this terminology.  Can someone explain what a fork means/is?  Even a link?

Ta!

That's not the only one!
https://www.financemagnates.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Upcoming-Forks.jpg

Roll Eyes Roll Eyes We have series of forks (jokes) coming around this month. So be ready for some free money.
However, I am not getting why you think fork will decrease the price of Bitcoin. According to me, it will give pump to BTC price as people will buy more Bitcoins to claim free money and build greater wealth. People already having Bitcoins will follow HODL mechanism so there isn't reason to believe why it will dip.
It will surely continue its upward trend.

That's correct, I only mentioned one of the forks Grin I think it will dip a bit, nothing to worry about.
About that "free money", that was the purpose of this post. How to collect it with a software wallet. I'm using "Bitcoin Core" at the moment.

I will search. But do you have even one link for Super Bitcoin?

Cool

This might be an interesting article for you? https://atozforex.com/news/2017-december-hard-fork-expectations
I am also a member of a private group and they were talking about it today...

Well bitcoin is the king of crypotcurrency so pretty much I don't believe what you are saying that bitcoin won't reache 15,000 US dollars. Wait until bitcoin price surprise you. And let's say it reaches up to 13,000 USD by december and a chance by the end of the year it will be 15,000. If you see the recent you'll see how much demand bitcoin is gaining.

I know the hype is spreading pretty good lately but I expect it to float around 11.000USD according to the upcoming hard forks. More and more facilities are looking into Bitcoin, this is good news, the price will only go up in the next few months.
I hope you are right because at the end, I'm a long term investor Wink

Greetings to all of you.
