Re: Why today another big drop?

Hello, do you know why today is another big drop in crypto market?
What is happening? I thought that there will be positive trend because last day were green.

Just be patient.  There is no need to stress out over the small price dips.  Yes I consider these dips small even though they may look huge to new investors.  Zoom out and look at past crashes, this is nothing new.  Bitcoin once fell from 30 dollars to 2 dollars and look where it is today.  You need a long term mindset, not a short term one.

Re: What currencies do you gamble with?

I usually only use the main cryptos like bitcoin, litecoin, ethereum, and sometimes dogecoin.  It can be very annoying having like 30 different wallets to keep organized and backed up.  Much more simple and less stressful to just use the main cryptos that you know are stable and are here to last.

Of course I believe in crypto long term.  Don't let all the recent negativity and FUD scare you away.  A lot of governments are threatened that currency can be decantrilized and not controlled by a small group of people like the FED in America.  It's my prediction that the entire marketcap will grow to the trillions over the next few years.

Re: Why do some people in crypto still wish the downfall of Bitcoin?

Even a lot of  these true crypto believers are trying to spread mass panic.  They are doing this to obtain more bitcoin or to make profit on short contracts.  They know the true  future potential of crypto so its likely they are just stockpiling for the next bullrun which should be starting pretty soon.

A new account claiming to have had 700 btc, but probably doesn't know enough hence getting scammed (assuming what you're saying is actually true). Also, thinking you could do bad things with only 100+ miners. You're going to need a lot more than that. Yeah sure 700 btc.

Agreed , this story does seem a bit out there.  Someone that actually had that much money stored in bitcoin would surely be much more careful with their security.

Unless I see more proof I'm not convinced that this even happened.  On the slight chance that this is legit, I'm truly sorry for your loss OP.

Of course I play online.  It's much more relaxing and safer to gambling online instead of going to a brick and mortar casino.  Hell I can gamble in my pajamas and smoke if I want to.  I don't have to follow normal casino rules which can be very strict and sometimes the waitresses can be quite rude . Go with bitcoin over litecoin for sure.  Bitcoin has a much larger following and userbase.  Currently litecoin is down a much larger percentage from its previous all time high than bitcoin is.

I'm starting to see more and more people accepting bitcoin for goods and services.  you'd be surprised at how many people accept crypto on craigslist and other online forums.  The main thing you have to be careful about is that there are no chargebacks like a credit card.  So always make sure the customer/ seller is trustworthy.

Re: NEO. Buy or not?
by

At this point I'm not too sure about NEO.  Ethereum is the dominant force in regards to new projects and  NEO isn't as widely used.  The percentage neo has dipped is a lot more at eth.  I wouldn't trust EOS either because they have centralized control over their own network.

Thanks but Slack isn't listed under 'community' on the website https://posw.io/

They have Discord, Telegram, Twitter, Reddit, POSWeekly and Facebook.

But unless I'm missing something, they don't really help me dig deeper on the team.

I meant discord sorry

Surely they will provide you further information about the team there

Re: [ANN] POPULOUS - Invoice trading platform | ICO l BOUNTY CAMPAIGN
by
RAGEmond
on 01/01/2018, 17:47:16 UTC
Very interested as a prospective lender (investor) on Populous platform. Just finished reading the latest Whitepaper, however several questions remain unanswered. Was hoping someone has already looked into this with the team:

1) According to the Whitepaper, once an auction is completed successfully, the invoice seller receives funds from the winning buyer or group. Then once the invoice seller receives payment from his customer, he deposits the money with Populous and makes payment to settle the loan. That means that the seller will be paid twice for one invoice - once by the winning buyer (group) and once by the customer. My question is what mechanism on Populous platform will exist to oblige the invoice seller to make the payments to settle the loan, and prevent him/her from double-dipping? Usually, in factoring transactions, the factor (invoice buyer) always gets paid directly by the customer precisely to avoid this potential problem (see for example step 4 of the process described here: https://fitsmallbusiness.com/how-invoice-factoring-works/). Why is it different on Populous platform?

2) There is no mention in the Whitepaper of the verification process Populous platform will use to ensure that the invoice is valid (i.e. a real product/service has been provided and the client is happy). This is very puzzling, because invoice verification is arguably the most important part of factoring. See for example link here: https://www.comcapfactoring.com/blog/why-are-factoring-verifications-necessary/   Does anyone have any idea what process will be used to verify the validity of invoices, if any?

3) Another question unanswered by the Whitepaper is whether the factoring on the platform will be recourse or non-recourse (http://blog.factorfunding.com/blog/what-are-the-differences-between-recourse-and-non-recourse-factoring/)? If there will be recourse against the invoice seller in case of a disputed transaction, does Populous platform offer any mechanism to aid invoice buyers recover from sellers directly? Or rather, will invoice buyers have to pursue legal action in traditional tribunals? If there will not be any recourse against invoice seller in case of a dispute, then the invoice verification process will have to be very solid... (which goes back to question 2) above)

4) Finally, how will Populous will ensure that an invoice has not already been financed with another factor prior to being auctioned on the platform. I understand that tokenization will ensure that ay given invoice is sold only once on Populous platform, but what mechanism ensures that it has not been sold outside the platform to a third-party?

Would help a lot to have answers to these questions!

Thanks

Good questions, since he team isnt very active here I'd suggest you to write an email or join their slack / telegram where they are pretty active!

Afterwards would be cool if you share the info.

what's the earning to have a full node?

would like to know - also do you have to compete with other nodes to make profit? like get a lot of ppl lease to your node or can you make pofit by just running it on a vps for eg?
