Thinking seriously about getting into mining. I looked at a pre assembled rig that has two liquid cooled Nvidia TI1080 cards (22gb). Im hoping that it will be able to turn a nice profit, because the rig will cost about $8000 USD.
If you're going to spend $8000, please do a proper statistical breakdown and forecast and make sure you know you will break even.

Had R9 380 that I tried to flash. Flashed the card with new BIOS and booted the rig, everything worked fine. Started up Claymore ETH miner and I'm was seeing a hashrate of 52 Mh/s from my newly flashed R9 380 
. Felt good man.
But of course it was a glitch and true hashrate was around 20 Mh/s.

Best way is to check using Ethermine or a pool of somekind that shows "effective hashrate" then they will know for sure.

Definitely a bug in between your GPU or the SimpleMining OS.
Make sure you retract the GPU and wipe it and remodify the BIOS in order to prevent any permanent damage to the GPU.

What I enjoy is developers who are completely oblivious to the fact they have a problem. There was a monero thread on github back in december. It was like talking to a wall.

We need more competition.....competition in asic development. Bitmain is capitalism gone wrong. No competition, complete monopoly and exploitation. There is no company that can stand against Bitmain that's why they are doing whatever they want. If there was competition then prices would be low and so would be the chance of them mining the hell out of those asics before releasing them. Until AMD and Nvidia develops a mining specific gpu or until a asic resistant coin surpasses ETH's market capital it will be dark ages for gpu mining.
samsung's getting into asic development, i'm interested to see where that goes

tried 11.5 with rx 570 4G, with the same bios and OC settings on win10 and on ubuntu 16.04, but for some reasons claymore on ubuntu shows ~0.5 mh/s lower speed than on win, why so much difference?
I have about 0.2-0.3 dropped, think it is due to be more stable. With 11.5 I had probably 3x more crashes/reboots. Statistcally this will be more fluid and more effective in the long run hopefully.

What is the projects stance on the 100% ASIC resistant now? Are we going to see some changes?
100% resistant just means it is resistant and not asic-proof.
Personally I don't mind ASICs coming in and mining. The mining for this coin needs a few extra GHs in the market to make it more competitive.
