Well said. It's easier said than done to do something stupid like losing the keyphrase. Been there myself, but only for small test wallets.

I've learnt the hard way that if you have hardware wallets, have a spare duplicate ready and updated. In the event the first one fails or anything, you arent suddenly stuck waiting for one to arrive in the mail.

I got into Pegaxy a few weeks back, so not very long. However I did spend alot of time researching it.  I started with a handful of pegas (horses ) and now hold enough for several "bronze guilds".  I managed this by investing. I don't spent time or money breeding (yet).

Have read through what  cryptoaddictchie &  sunsilk wrote on this thread and their views on Pegaxy is correct!  Here are additional my two cents on this game:

• The entry barrier has gotten pretty high already - but if you can stomach the cost the payback is awesome!
  
• The rental system makes ownership a breeze. No need for "rental managers", the system does it for you.
• The burning system combined with breeding cooloff period will allow a more stable price growth than Axie did. Good news for both scholars and owners
• The dev team (Corey Wiltman) explains their roadmap incredibly well - this game will be so much more in just a few months
• Pega players (scholars) can make 20-30 usd per day using profit sharing rental. This means they pay nothing and risk nothing. Awesome for them as well.
• Axie has first move advantage, but Pegaxy has second mover advantage, they've avoided future P2E problems that Axie has now.
• When the mobile version is in play next month or so you can expect a surge in user growth & value
  

In short, this game gives an incredible ROI (close to 75%) per month for Pega owners.  That is not including future token (VIS) value increase.  You'll do well to find any Play to earn with a better future outlook so early in its lifecycle.


Hell no! I'm still expanding.  Consider the innovation adoption curve. If you are getting in now your still an early adopter.

If others here are Pega owners and making "guilds" for themselves feel free to drop me a line. Would love to share ideas on expansion strategy, rental, profit sharing, stadiums etc.

Could not agree more my friend. Nobody should ever store funds longterm on exchanges.

Binance however - they claim you can trade ( funds in - funds out) without having to provide KYC (if you stay under 2 BTC per day). This is not the case.

I'm liking the marketing and relations the ICON family is building. 

However, what's the latest on the Korean Gov not passing the ICO legislation? Any thoughts?

Perhaps. But we are definitely at a good accumulation stage. Smart money is dollar cost averaging and building a stockpile.

One thing we learnt from the last run is that we are just as bad at picking the bottom as we are picking the top. Trick I learnt is to sell into strength. Now we must buy into weakness.

I got screwed by Binance. They claim to allow trade without KYC. Once you deposit funds they demand KYC.

Free advice:  Binance = Scam

 

I've noticed some sketchy behavior from Binance. They are now suddenly demanding KYC from me. I've not gone over any limits. When asking the support for an explanation they just offer "out of the box" explanations.

A buddy of mine got the same. We've both been using Binance for over 18 months and then suddenly this happens.

Summary:

DO NOT TRUST THAT BINANCE WILL LET YOU TRADE WITHOUT KYC

As previously recommended by others : use a hardware wallet. Both trezor and ledger have good track records.

Have read through the responses and this one is probably the closest one imho.

The "war" for dominance is and will be a protocol war. Not a design war. Not a functionality war.

Newer ones will surface which are prettier (design) and faster (functionality), they may be added as medium of exchanges. But they will not replace BITCOIN as the main driver in crypto value.
The network (people, developers, miners) has already chosen Bitcoin. This is the one that will remain the bedrock protocol, no matter how crummy and ineffective it may seem in 10 years.

Compare it to TCP/IP or SMTP protocols. They are not the best solutions for information transfer, but they were adopted and chosen as the bedrock. The industry then gives up looking for alternatives and starts producing based on the consensus. All additional layers are added on top.

Other comparisons are:

-VCR vs BETA
-DVD vs Laserdisk
-Cassette vs 8-track

Summary:
The consensus is finished. This was a protocol war, and Bitcoin has already won (as a store of value)

What do you guys make out of this?

I keep seeing these types of questions surfacing.

1.  Long term prediction 10 years +: BTC is worth 50-100 times more than it is now.  
So if you want a retirement fund: calculate what you need to retire in about 10 years (or maybe less), divide this number by 50, purchace BTC and keep in hardware wallet. Then comes the hard part: waiting and NOT looking at the price every day.

2. Long story short: The cat is out of the bag! Crypto is here to stay (in some shape or form). This was a protocol war, and Bitcoin has already won as a store of value.

This is kinda discussing a separate issue.  BITCOIN per today has soon survived a decade of hack attempts and is considered safe.

Wallets however are only as safe as your PC/phone usage.  If someone empties your wallet due to reckless usage or poor security its not Bitcoin's fault.

As always, I recommend getting a hardware wallet like trezor, ledger etc.

Have read about people buying crypto on credit.  That is a recipe for disaster. Don't do it.

It's very easy to get caught up in hype and FOMO.

In regards to dealing with it, I heard some good advice last year about altcoins which has saved me from alot of headache: If the coin has already done a huge exponential rise recently, you're already too late.
Summary: Never jump on after you see a big move. This would be based on emotion instead of strategy.  Train yourself to not follow these urges.

The association with an adult site sure has its negative connotations.

HOWEVER, this is one path which leads towards adoption. The adult industry has on several occasions proven to show the way for innovation and new technology adoption. Examples are DVDs and VR.

I wouldn't suggest using adult sites as a promotional argument for cryptos ( ha ha) but it still counts as a solid use case.

This is an interesting topic, IMHO  public adoption will be due to a variation on BTC availability (ATMs) and usability (BTC Merchants). 

Institutional adoption will probably depend more on scaleability and regulations.

You may be reading about fantastic opportunities to earn money by mining, but remember that if you order some miners which are delivered in the future - the hashrate difficulty may have doubled/tripled or even more before you even receive the hardware.

This happened to several buddies of mine last year. Equipment promises several 100 USD per day, when it arrived 4 months later the difficulty had skyrocketed and they got less than 20 USD per day. The price of the hardware itself also shrunk because people don't want the obsolete equipment.

They would have been much better off if they instead had just bought the underlying asset (Bitcoin, dash, Litecoin or whatever) and see the prices rise.

I'm sure there are plenty of success stories, but in order to to a proper RISK analysis this must be considered.

Think - and do your own due diligence.

Short answer: Yes

Long answer : The last year's events including BTC ETFs and rising regulation show that adoption is on its way and still growing. Its not a matter of if, its a matter of when. And to be honest, nobody knows when, so why focus energy on it. Just learn more about it and help others who know less than you. (Also read up on the coming Bond bubble crisis, that's where I suspect alot of the incoming new money will be from.)

It seems to me people ( mostly newbies) focus on a future pricepoint in which they will sell all cryptos and retire.  This may be feasible, but consider this scenario:

      Focus on having a solid crypto portfolio in cold storage. When mass adoption has occurred you use the portfolio itself as your
       retirement fund where you withdraw a fraction each year or month.

This is an older topic but needs refreshing. Exchanges have recently really ramped up their demands in KYC terms. Its getting really annoying!

BITTREX is by far the worst, as they have locked up funds for existing accounts until you provide all the info they want.

The market demands exchanges which avoid KYC  of this sort and I am certain people are willing to pay higher fees to avoid KYC forms.
