How long until the pool launches? Can someone repost the link for the countdown?

I think the multipool is honestly a brilliant idea - I hope it plays out as expected. It will be interesting to see how this develops.

One coin to rule them all!

Here you go Smiley

BC Multipool!

I'm sure you've heard about the multipool that's been worked on for BlackCoin, infact, it's the first multipool to actually PAY OUT in an altcoin!
The multipool works in a very simple way, you point your miners to our server and we make sure you get paid as much as possible from your precious hashes! When you mine with us, we trade the altcoins we mine into BTC, then buy BC at the best possible price, this creates buy pressure for BC. This translates into one thing, BCs will be worth more. Simple as that.

As long as the multipool has ANY hashrate pointed at it, even has little as half a megahash we'll still be creating buy pressure. This means that BC rises in value, the more hashrate pointed at it, the faster it will rise.

Saying that, I would very much appreciate it if you, as a miner, didn't point all your hashrate at our server immidiately. I want everybody to have a taste of what this can be, so I will be limiting each address/IP to maximum 10mhs. This will only be for the duration of the open beta when we have tested the servers/backend. Smiley

Servers will be hosted in europe at first, but I'm planning to open at least 2 more in the beginning. One on the east-coast of the US and one on the west-coast.

If you want to know more, head over to http://bcmultipool.com

Wish you all a happy mining! To the mooooon!

Wow, Friday is going to be big day. Holding tight my BC's

And getting ready my rig, of course

This was going be to be revealed 8PM GMT tonight haha...

But I guess the cat is out of the bag, but I'll still do the announcement tonight; pool will go into open beta from Friday 8PM GMT to Sunday 8PM GMT to make sure everything is a-ok. Payouts will be processed manually to ensure that nobody loses any coins. There will be no payouts requests, you'll get 2 payouts this weekend. If everything goes okay I will integrate automatic trading with bter.com. Smiley

The multipool idea is really cool!

I've done some work to make my own little multipool some time ago. Thats much work and needs always
a bit attention (wallets may go out of sync or on a fork ==> profitablity script wents crazy, ...).

* Coin stratum servers need to work with one user table while accounting should work per coin
* Auto depositing the mined coins to a exchange with autosell or scripts to sell with the exchange trading API
* calculations about payouts have to be done right
* Nice web interface with some stats

Thats just a few points to get a multipool working, I know how much work this is, maybe doing some task
manually or a cooperation with a mulitpool owner would make this easier.

Is there already a concrete plan to handle this project?

The biggest challenge of a multipool would be if the pool operator can set it up to work 100% automatic, or if he/she needs to spend an hour every night manually exchanging the mined coins into BC, before automatically sending out the payments.

For now, I would be happy just to see something up and working as intended, however that may be. If I can setup a sgminer script, point my miners to the ool, and then watch payments come into my BC wallet every 24 hours, it's as good as "mining BC" to me. Smiley

I already plan to give 5000 BC + 5% extra donation of 9 MH/s hash power for the first week of mining for the first successful multipool we have up. Hopefully others can chip in as well to really motivate our pool operator to do a great job on it. Looking forward to the updates we have scheduled soon!

I cannot see how this can easily be done on an automated level.

The best option for ourselves is to mine at say "wafflepool" using your MintPal BTC deposit address and then just manually purchase BlackCoin with it.

I'm the lead developer and it's already working Smiley

Tune in on Wednesday, I'll post an announcement then.

Respect! Can you tell us any details yet?

I post screenshots and previews of the interface on the IRC channel once in a while Smiley

hey guys and gals
so im thinking the idea of a multipool is a great idea but without some serious wedge its not gonna happen so here is my suggestion..
this coin is great, yes but we all want to see some value to it so here it is

BLACKCOIN multipool (on a budget)

quite simple i am going to create a worker that will mine at middle coin. these guys multipool and turn coins into btc which is paid directly to the btc wallet. im going to use these guys because i know it works and its easy for people to direct miners

the profits from people directing miners to this cause will go directly to buying up blackcoin on whichever excahange is cheapest.
you will be able to check to the blackcoin address and the bitcoin address so you will see that im not a scammer or wanting to do this for my own gain but purely because i believe in the coin and i think this will put value to it.

what to do with the coins once we have them? well im very willing to hand them over to the devs when they need them but really the idea is just to amass a stock pile which will 1. create rarity 2. keep trade flowing into this coin 3. have a fund to build a real multipool which does just this therefore creating value to the coin.

now i know people are going to be skeptical so im happy to take votes over time with what to do with the coins and see what this great community thinks.

so you dont even have to mine here if you dont want to but you could always have this a failover if your pool of choice go's down.

i havent spoken to the devs yet about this but i think its a great idea. it will start off slow but in time this will create a greater value in the coin

i will set it up and get all the info you need to check and see whats going later on today.

What's the difference between this and a blackcoin multipool? Except more manual work and increased fees.

Well this is very true. It doesn't have to change you can keep this method if people don't want a more professional set up. Do you think it's a good idea?

If, for some unknown reason the multipool doesn't launch then it's of course an alternative. It's very tedious and requires a lot of trust, it won't be very attractive but it will work.

Can anyone help me fucking set up an offline USB wallet -.-

copy the wallet to a usb drive, auto run it from there?

Please a detailed guide. And can we just move wallet dat file? And move wallet dat file back in Appdata when we need to transfer funds?

Yes and yes, it's as easy as copying or moving it to a USB then moving it back to appdata.

And while theres no wallet dat, noone can steal anything I suppose? +1111

Only way to steal your coins is to get your private key, it's usually stored in wallet.dat with your transaction data and such. If you want the best security you'd export the private key on a PC with no internet connection and print it to a dumb-printer(Printer that can't access the internet and doesn't store printer jobs) and keep the paper with the private key in a water and fireproof safe untill you need your wallet again.

But a USB-key is fine too.

Until then me and I think most people here just want to make a quick buck.

Proved my point exactly.

+1

This is strange how you can think about coin with 1% inflation like about quick buck.
Most people don't even know what 100%POS with 1%inflation means.
Low inflation means you build position during long time period when others are spamming their coins around making them worth less and less.
Many join coins like 20-30% inflation, HBN 100%+ inflation...
Those folks are for quick buck for sure... They see +10%+20%+100% year,
that strategy is great but ONLY there is one coin around.

Low 1% inflation can save your ass while others like Doge,Lotto need higher buying support.
And people who mine Doge,LTC they are truly for quick  bucks comparing us stake holders to POW miners
is hmm a bit "not good matched"...
If you look at volume at 500sat~ this is only 2-4 BTC while at beginning at 2000 it was 100BTC+
some people have to get some $ for bills and they are forced to sell at ~500 but low volume shows that those people aren't majority.

Until then me and I think most people here just want to make a quick buck.

So that dump is usually happened

All coins will be dumped or pumped in long run but limminted supply can save BC and it should recover
over time when all cheap BC will be eaten by new/old stackeholders.

This is actually my initial point. How do we (yes, I also benefit from this coin to succed!) get people outside this circle to want to be a stake holder when they missed out on the initial distribution phase. That is the million dollar question. Ideology is great but this is a money business so it needs to seem profitable.

This is exactly why I'm working on a multipool that pays out in BC Smiley

Hey guys,

I saw the post earlier about a profit-switching pool that exchanges to BC and it sounded like such an amazing idea that me and my team(2 others) decided we'd make one! Stratum protocol and coin-switching is already implemented, auto-selling and analyzing the most profitable coin is coming.

You'll be able to withdraw to BTC too obviously, but this will carry a +5% fee. We believe BlackCoin is one of the best, if not the best currency launched in the last year and know for a fact that profit-pooling will drive the price up insanely. Sadly it will also drop the value of other coins as we'll dump their prices this way.

I'll post some updates before Wednesday!

If you'd like to encourage us even more, you can donate to our BC address BNv9p33UqpeBJNyzycXXabKjquRZw5CAw3

Thanks again guys, really happy with the community!

+9001!

I've sent you a message Smiley

Edit:

Price is up 28% Grin

Responded with some proof that we're not talking bullshit Smiley

is there anyway to edit the forced wallet height on the github source? its just so massive when viewing on a laptop i have to open the debug window to see how many blocks are left to be downloaded?

There should be, I'll look into it later today or tomorrow and let you know, at the moment I'm at work so can't look into this.
Never occurred to me to run the qt wallet, I'm using the console version only.

To those mining on my pool... we have no fee but please, consider donating for server costs, and my time maintaining the pool and updating the wallet!
Your initial reject count might be high but it should resolve itself in about 20 minutes, this is my first pool and I'm still figuring out some things, thanks for understanding.

If you want more pools I wouldn't mind setting up a normal one or a P2P one. Smiley

P2Pool in Amsterdam - Low ping in all of EU!
http://188.226.144.143:9344 - 1% fee!
Use "cgminer -o 188.226.144.143:9344 -u -p password" to mine. Replace with your wallet address to receive funds as soon as a block is found!

We were the first EU P2pool to launch on Blackcoin and several other coins, always 99%+ uptime and low DOA rate.

Over 2Mh/s already! P2pool rewards directly into your wallet as soon as a block is found.

Only 1% fee compared to 2%+ on centralized pools!

EDIT: Almost 4Mh/s now! Rising FAST!

Is the 1% annual stake earnings the average for the whole system, or the absolute limit for any one wallet? If half of the network is not staking their wallet either by being offline or other reasons does that mean %50 gets distributed to everyone who is staking at the time? Furthermore, if I wanted to get more than %1 could I just create 1,000,000 wallets either on the same computer or another computer and get %1,000,000?

That's not how math OR staking works...

Working P2Pool running stable on stratum protocol, supports getwork if you still run an old miner.
To connect use "cgminer -o 188.226.144.143:9332 -u -p password"

Tipbot for reddit might be coming soon too.

Donations and bounties go to AWSCv6gPfQFpLrvaGW9Rhn1PMHFLLXsCmE

Ill be pointing 1mhs at the P2Pool to get it going.

Thanks

Added to front post.

Wasn't there a bounty for tip-bot and P2Pool or am I thinking of another coin..?

You may have been thinking of another coin. We're subsidizing pool fees, however, so if you follow the instructions on the front post, you'll be paid as if you were claiming 2% fees instead of 1%.
Alright, I'll keep the pool running anyway. It's running on a dedicated serverbox.
